    • How to recreate The Me...
    It has taken an awfully long time to work out how to play this song. A few years on and off I have been thinking about it.
    Finally I feel I have overcome the 2 main issues. Those being learning the notation and knowing which instrument to use. Finally I've cracked it.
    The timing is a little off as it's played live.
    I absolutely love this song but you will not find anywhere online that shows you how to play it. Anything you see on UA-cam involves them sampling the song rather than actually playing it. Here I play everything apart from the beats, which are sequenced into FL Studio.
    I do not own the rights to this all time masterpiece of a song.

      That's nice to hear. Thank you.
      Let me know if you have any questions. I only first played the keys when I was 32. I'm 37 now. And I only started using music software last year.
      This means my approach and understanding is unique and different. I understand it from a layman's perspective, which may make it easier for me to share knowledge

      So... what plugins you used (if any), and which synths?

    • @TeamOfThe80s
      @TeamOfThe80s  5 років тому

      @@Harmonity The beats were sampled from the actual song itself (couldn't generate a satisfactory beat sound myself) and then sequenced into Fl Studio. As for the rest:
      Bass: Nexus 'trancebass 10' with some tiny tweaks
      Guitar: Nexus > plucked > mute guitars 2
      The stabs: Nexus > Arpeggios > after midnight 1. I didn't actually arpeggio it as those notes were not hit for long enough to generate it, but that was the only sound I liked for those stabs
      Main up and down jingle (IE the last thing I play in the video): Nexus > Plucked > Amberpikes
      I got Nexus literally 2 days before making this video so was very excited with my new vst. Most other plugins are 80s classics. that was my first modern download and boy, it makes a huge difference. Wasn't sure I'd get the sounds correct for the message as that was a major struggle (well, mainly the up and down jingly part), but then along comes Nexus and resolves it all

      @@TeamOfThe80s damn nice ^^ didn't notice that haha. I thought there's a magic way in FL to automate this. another question I use fl for many years now and tried to go into live recording. but it's a pain for me as when I record something live in a loop FL doesn't record it as I played it. means it's out of sync. any ideas? my interface is on 192kHz so I think it's not a hardware thing

    • @TeamOfThe80s
      @TeamOfThe80s  5 років тому +1

      @@peerlessrecords6236 I've got the same problem you have. Since this video I've added another two Synths. No lag whilst making this video due to just one Synth being plugged into laptop. Now I've got 3 I've also got lag.
      Bear in mind I'm no sound engineer and only been doing production for about six months. But the only ways to resolve I found were a) turn the buffer length down. 1024 or 512. I don't even understand what this does, but I do know turning it down reduces lag!
      B) if you use a USB hub make sure it's USB c and that it has its own power source

    • @peerlessrecords6236
      @peerlessrecords6236 5 років тому +1

      hm I tried that already. the thing is this problem is also present when I record notes into a pattern which is crazy cz it's not going through any interface but just from midikeyboard to FL. when I record audio directly from like a piano or synth outside FL it works perfectly. anyways I'm thinking about switching to Ableton as it's much better for live performance. stay tuned man@@TeamOfThe80s
