Image! Thank you! I appreciate the instruction for the teachers! I struggle thinking I am not doing a good job, appreciate that I am enough and that I am working hard for that!
I am grateful for this mortal probation in which we can strive to purify our hearts and clean our hands . I am ever thankful for the opportunity to become spiritually born of God. I desire greatly to more fully receive His image in my countenance. Nothing in this life is quite like the feeling that overcomes one when another remarks "I knew that you were a follower of Christ". It's a feeling that draws us closer to Heavenly Father and His Son with meekness and humility. I am eternally grateful to have experienced a mighty change of heart. I have felt it before and I feel so now. There is always more refining to do after the personal spiritual reflection from head to toe. I am thankful to be one of the sheep of the Good Shepherd! I feel so much love from above as I have committed to becoming what He knows I can be and who He needs me to be. Chelsea and Steve, thank you for the role that you play in my weekly transformation. What you continue to do is so much appreciated. Love ya! Bye!
Thank you for your clear and beautiful teaching about this lesson. Appreciate it much that help me to assess myself and improve more to follow our Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank you for the teaching tip! I just mentioned to my wife this morning on how I am not very good a teaching the who, what, when, where, but more of what do we learn from the lesson. You telling me that made my day. God's Timing is Everything!
In preparing to dedicate the Cobán Guatemala Temple, Elder Renlund was delighted to learn that the standard Q’eqchi’ greeting in the Alta Verapaz region is “Ma sa laa ch’ ool.” It means “How is your heart?” “Once our hearts are changed, we need to periodically assess our heart. When we are greeted with ‘Ma sa laa ch’ ool,’ we should be prompted to ask ourselves, ‘How is my heart?’ “My invitation on this day of temple dedication is that you assess your own heart and change what needs changing. Dedicate your heart to God. ... When God asks you, ‘How is your heart?’ you will be able to answer, ‘All is well.’ Sa’ in ch’ ool. B’ an tiox. There is contentment in my heart.” -Elder Dale G. Renlund
Some powerful thoughts I have felt this week in my lessons and the lessons I have studied. I love the spiritual assessment. I don't think I am the only one in this boat, but I never feel good enough. I try hard every day but there is always someone out there who is better. And that is true, but what I need to remind myself of is the the Lord knows something about me, that I don't know about myself and that He will be with me. To remember that all I need to do is to go in the strength that I have. And that will be enough. This is why the Saviour atoned for us as we learn in Alma 7:11-13. As we face our challenges, whatever they might be, as one of my graduated students said so clearly "It's not so much what you do... BUT who you become that makes the difference." Thank you for your lesson today, It has been a great self evaluation, and I envy you going on this amazing tour with all my favorite people, the Youth of the church!
Thank you for helping me to put Alma chapter 5 in perspective. As I learn more of the gospel, I will now keep that in the forefront of my studies, because I want to feel the Spirit with me always and I want the Savior to recognize me when He comes again.
Your teaching of Alma 7:11 spoke to me loud and clear. I pray constantly to be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I worry that I will mess up. It is comforting to know He will cover for my short comings.
Yes, Steve. Yes. I speak as a journalist so it is cogent but "who, what, where, when why, how is not for Scriptural study. Journalism is a temporal discipline. Teacher training is great.
We are trying to be like Jesus so that we can have His image in our countenances. We are impressed that you mention ostriches that we have seen so often in the Cape, and my husband has even seen them in the Namib desert!
Thank you so much for this lesson. Have a wonderful trip. The youth are so blessed to be rubbing shoulders with you and learning from you. You are angels!
Just had to tell you my friend from over 50 years reached out to me, she also listens to you and heard the shout out to me. Thanks for your spirit in my life I am always uplifted and am coming closer to my Savior. Love erma
I tried to get those questions, but I couldn't access them. Is there some other way of getting them? This whole lesson is about questions, isn't it ~ I try to have the "IMAGE" of Christ in me. When I see it in others, I try to be like them, which in turn, brings me closer to Christ. I'm so grateful for this lesson and the way you presented it. Thank you so much for the time and energy that you put into each and everyone of your lessons. ~ Since becoming a member, I've read my scriptures. It wasn't until I retired (from work, not life) that I put more thought into my reading, aka pondering. What a difference that has made in my life. So, thank you again for instilling that in me, through the Spirit of truth.
Now that's what I call an amazing❤ lesson. Especially the second half to the end. So thankful that we can pull up the transcripts on most youtube videos.
that you for every thanks you say ...every 5imes I listening to you ...i feel the spirit helping me to pray for be better and remembrer Christ I love him so much !!!😂 like
May I make a suggestion. Your new room has some echo in it. Hang some things on the walls and add a carpet or a rug to deaden the echo effects. Love your thoughts - These are my favorite go-to scriptures: Alma 5-7. Jesus loves broken things, the healer of all things.
Wow ! the spirit was very strong in todays lesson. Thank you so much for all you do to share these lessons. Don't know why I'm not receiving the email and I do not know how to get the download. I guess I need professional help. Love you guys. Celanie.............. Enjoy your trip and be safe.
If you really wanted to teach the "meat" of the lesson, you would have mentioned the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost (2 Nephi 31:17), and how a person can do this (Mosiah 4-5) and given details about those who have received and retained a remission of their sins. That is what Alma was teaching these people (Alma 5:14, 45-46). Nothing can be more important than this mighty change, and these scriptures teach how to obtain it. The scriptures teach a process with an event - it is clearly both. That is the meat of this lesson, in my opinion. Also, no matter what we do, we are unprofitable servants (Mosiah 2:20,21). As soon as we understand this mindset, then we can rely completely on Christ, because we ARE NOT enough. Only through Christ can we receive anything at all, namely the mighty change that makes us into new creatures.
The questions thing might work with adults because they love to hear themselves talk, but I get nothing but crickets when I ask questions to the 17 year olds.
very nice, suggestion: the sound is very echoy { I know that's not a word,) but it's hard to listen to you cuz you need some buffer or something for the sound?
This lesson reminded me of one of my favorite quotes, Comparison is the thief of Joy.
Also love listening to your lessons.
Image! Thank you! I appreciate the instruction for the teachers! I struggle thinking I am not doing a good job, appreciate that I am enough and that I am working hard for that!
Also…have a wonderful trip! I took that trip a couple years ago and it was so life changing for me❤❤❤
"Hanging out" with Christ is so awesome. It has to be in a quiet and contemplative place.
I love that

A change of heart is a lifelong process. We absolutely need Christ's Atonement and the Godhead every step of the way to succeed. Yes.

Thank you for a lovely lesson.
Father asks us to do all that we can and then Christ makes up the difference. It's like 80/20 for what Christ does for us.
The Holy Ghost has inspired the comments I've made today except for the Fishy on my Car. Steve was the inspiration of that.
The IMAGE of Christ is what I'm going to seek to obtain.
Yes, Steve. Yes. I speak as a journalist so it is cogent but "who, what, where, when why, how is not for Scriptural study. Journalism is a temporal discipline. Teacher training is great.
Great work, Chelsea! The comparison game is Russian Roulette and the Spirit told me to only study Russian.

Thank you for y’all ❤
Until last July 24th, I was the Manti stake's Sunday School secretary so teacher training and teacher counsel is a blast from the past!
Thank you so much for this lesson. Have a wonderful trip. The youth are so blessed to be rubbing shoulders with you and learning from you. You are angels!
Steve, your description makes me think of the Sacramental hymn: O Savior Thou Who Wearest. That's a really good hymn!
Just had to tell you my friend from over 50 years reached out to me, she also listens to you and heard the shout out to me. Thanks for your spirit in my life I am always uplifted and am coming closer to my Savior. Love erma
Thanks my sweet friend Erma.

Nice Russian/Eastern Slavic accent, Steve. I have been studying Slavic languages and can do that as well. The Cyrillic script is neato!

Jim thanks for the insight. You got it covered brother. It is impossible to cover everything, so I am glad you shared it here.
I have returned!
The questions thing might work with adults because they love to hear themselves talk, but I get nothing but crickets when I ask questions to the 17 year olds.
I've been there and done that. All you can do is show them love. Our young women were so good at commenting, though.
Steve is quoting the Fishie on my Car song. That was funny.

Thank you for these great insights...Again I am not receiving the weekly email. I live in Maryland USA. Would you send it to me? THANK U
Please check your junk folder. Emails were sent out today.
The religious torture chamber in your brain actually sounds horrifying. Incidentally, Inside Out 2 is in theaters Friday and I want to watch it!
😆😆😆 Brad you crack me up! 😂
