Id call it an inverse of Berkshire. Softbank is basically a venture capitalist and tech conglomerate which invests in risky companies with poor balance sheets with the hope that some of them strike gold. BRK invests in established companies with strong cash flows erroring on the side of safety.

You need to understand how it works. Its betting for the rich but with far better odds. It can afford to bet on 10 tech start ups and only needs 1 to make it like Uber. The returns on the investmebt and the earnings as a shareholder is enough for them to laugh off the other 9 that failed.

They say softbank is above Amazon but Amazons market cap makes it the second biggest company after apple that's number 1 in the entire world... on Forbes list apple was on number 9.
