Hi Richard and the boys and Mrs C. So sorry to see the test results. Such a horrible stressful situation for you all. TB is such a nightmare. I’m in Cork Ireland 🇮🇪 and I know one farmer who is only short distance from me has lost his entire herd recently due to it. Richard I hope things improve for you in 2025. Wishing you all a lovely Christmas 🎄
You along with all farmers are a inspiration to others !! You can still smile when crap hits the fan & just say Ok ! how we going to solve this problem and move forward. I wish you and your family a good Christmas and hopefully a better new year, all the Best x
Kier starmer is more interested in being named in acts of parliament so he doesn’t have to pay any tax on his pension when it goes over 1 million quid.
Richard... consider me another smiling face wishing you the best out of this current situation... Let's face it Starmer and his skid kicks don't care about our country and its people. .. Always look on the bright side of life..... and .whistle 😉.. im sure you would happily hold the door open for the PM hand give a standing aviation when hes gone.. stay safe 🏴.
Richard, I watch your channel regularly but don't comment very often. On this one I am 100% with you and all farmers. I'm non farmer but understand and respect what you all do . Thank you. Wishing you and your family a Happy Christmas and really really Best Wishes for the new year
'animals ail, crops fail', that's the mantra handed down from my granddad and probably his before him. 'Stand up, dust yourself down and carry on', that was my mother. The rest of you, Support British Farmers.
Farming is a constant gamble, you need a bit of money put aside to cover breakdowns etc. I agree with everything you said. So sorry to hear about the TB test, it must be a nightmare, try and stay positive. Hopefully Farmer P helped raise your spirits over a cup of "tea". Plus Ian has had a positive test, well one of his cows has, more bad news.
Good morning Richard, after half expecting the sequel to Harrys car, we are brought back to reality with this video. It s terrible news for the farm but unfortunately today its a case of when not if you go down with TB. It shouldn t be this way i agree, i m sure you also remember the days when reading cattle for TB ,the vet would just walk past them all and just nod his head and say "yes ,all ok". As a fellow sufferer 10 years ago,you will need to keep a strong mind set as it can affect mental health with the devastation it creates, never mind financially. The innoculent used for testing was "updated" about 15 years ago and is arguably more prone to pick up reactions but theres nothing we can do about it, its government approved! One other thought, during the summer, you showed us deer running through your fields ,they could be carriers as also cloven hooved, what can be done about that? probably nothing, protected species and all that. As a closed herd you have the best chance of clearing it out, it may well take all this winter to achieve. As for the new tank cooler, that has to be general wear and tear, we all suffer with that, you have managed so well for so long with the old one, well done. Above all Richard keep your head up, theres no stigmer today having TB its become almost normal ? One last thing, you and your family have a good christmas, don t eat too much and don t work too hard. please keep us updated
My heart goes out for you!! Farmers are forgotten warriors who are doing a job no non farmer understands! Farmers don't work a 40 hour a week, have 2 days off every week, have 4-6 weeks holidays a year guaranteed by law. It is about time some of those farmer knockers are put on a farm for a year and let them see what is rely like! That might shut their uneducated mouths!
I'm not a farmer, so please tell me if I'm missing something but it seems to me that TB testing is like Covid PCR testing in terms of reliability. If cows test positive and at slaughter are found lesion free do they have it or not? Is the test actually working to keep our herd TB free or is it just a way of keeping pressure on farmers ? Would wholesale vaccination be a better policy?
You have my sympathy Richard. We had TB early this year. Luckily we've gone clear now, but it was a right pain and somewhat depressing. At least its not as bad as when Cowfarmerdan had it; he had it terrible experience.
Stay strong richard, farmers are getting kicked every which way all the time, your right about the financial point, we're all behind you,we all feel your pain, maybe not financially, but definitely emotionally, keep going
another tough outcome. be nice if someone from the government could visit a few farms to see for them selves how farming really is and perhaps they could give us some ideas as how the IHT could be paid from a industry that has to battle with all these issues. try not to think about it too much is my advice .........one day at a time. we've been down with t.b since july but just had our first clear test last week .........keeping our fingers crossed for another clear test in the spring

Sorry for you Rich and Ian, I’ve always said TB test is out of date by 15/20 yrs, more studies need to establish on the situation, cows always seem to look well, as for injections, not surprisingly lumps will arise ! Covid injections for us was making us poorly for a couple of days after. More detailed science needs to be shown when animals are so called infected and proof from abattoirs, just my thoughts 👍🍻
It’s strange that most Tb reactors seem to be in the Gloucestershire and Carmarthen regions and I can remember years ago that farmers in Monmouthshire had a really bad experience of TB reactors but now that the dairy farms have gone down in the Monmouthshire area I don’t hear much about TB so much and one farm that I worked on had a very large Badger 🦡 set but never had any issues with TB but I really feel your sadness Rich , fingers crossed for a better year next year.
I was dairy farmer for over 25 years and we never had to deal with TB testing or anything to do with it. Is TB a problem all over England? Is it associated with the climate?
What's the end goal of the powers that be? Do you think they want to hobble and suppress the working farms and the UK food chain to set up lucrative import deals for the top few to import food from other countries? Our high food quality production and welfare standards in the UK food industry seem to be awkward issues for the people and businesses keen on importing. They seem to be trying to wind up the agriculture UK industry, so the people have no choice but to accept hormones in meat, GMOs, BST in milk, and low animal welfare and husbandry standards that are the norm in many other countries' agriculture industry. I don't want to farm a factory; the UK landscape is not set up for big agg. A paying farm looks after the walls, fencing trees, and grass. It has a hand in every part of what you see out the window, reinvesting in the next crop or livestock and having money to reaper that length of the snow-damaged wall on the hillside, seeing a value in things that make the farm no money but are part of farming. The industrialists who lobby and have the ear of the rule makers can't import produce to match the standards the UK-produced goods carry and enjoy the unseen benefits, make the profits they want against a thriving UK farming sector. There's a real issue with trust at the moment. Not long ago, one of the ex-Politicians who has jumped on the tax family business MP bandwagon told people we did not need European fruit pickers; we could buy the soft fruits from offshore markets F the UK growers.
"Pot Pourri" it's all gone "Chateauneuf du Pape" thanks to "ern plonker" in Whitehall, I thought you would like Del Boy take on it, it must be like driving up hill with the Handbrake on.
Madens me when they go to factory and kill out clear,no wonder no young people want to take up farming, hard to blame em,I'm testing v soon so every test is nerving,at least I always say,it's out side the door, happy xmas
So sorry Richard. Like I told Ian, I think it's the badgers. I'm of course talking out my butt but that's what I think. Some lead therapy would surely help.
I feel for you really do dairying is hard and sadly largely under appreciation, there always something nothing runs smoothly I had cow do the splits this morning, a few cases of mastitis recently just drives me mad the worry of it resilience you need it in spades to do this job
I've watched your enjoyable videos for years. I think farmers are far smarter than that waste of space Stammer and his buddies. I think it's simple how things should be in place regarding the inheritance tax. If farmer buys a tractor it is considered a tool, therefore the land should also be considered a tool and should not be taxed as long as the land is producing food for the country, no matter who owns it or inherits it. When the land is taken out of food production or sold onto a non food production situation then it should be taxed, I'm sure the farmers will except this. Just one little bit more regarding the black hole of £20 billion, if this amount is divided by 60 million roughly the population of the UK it comes out approximately £333.333333 per head. Which I'm sure a lot of hard working people would gladly pay to stop waste of space Stammer from his lies.
sorry to hear about your t b failure as im sure we all are. successive governments since the sixties have paid lip service tothe problem that they made worse by the introduction ot protection of the badger population as certain ethnic groups were badger baiting which was against the law. here begins the problem , a political response to a vet problem . as you say, the likes of Stamer and politicians have for decades not u derstood agriculturs works
Why you don’t park the air compressor inside the milk room then won’t be outside. I think maybe they will last longer. If you could put them inside you’re not getting the weather and damp or snow and I think the machines rust if they’re outside faster was good to work and damp somehow like last time I was on my cousin‘s farm. They had real old compressors. They’re still using them and they have them in their milk room. Still using them.??
Sadly a Farmer lost his life this week in Lancashire due to the compressor blowing up at the start of milking, leaving a wife and 3 young children. 😌 leave the compressor where it is. Sorry to here about the TB results😌
I think on a previous video the duke said the failed compressor was 30 years old plus.i doubt it would last longer inside.probably less with summer heat
Don't forget we all love you funky
So sorry, stay strong we are all rooting for you and your family ❤
Oh Richard, my heart dropped on just seeing the video headline. Stay strong. Best wishes to you and your family.
So sorry to hear that sad news. Stay strong, best wishes for your family and the future.

The only time any government will care about farmers is when the supermarket shelves are empty. NO FARMERS NO Food.
So sorry to hear that you had a bad day with the TB test all I can say keep the head up keep going and hope for better days to come 😊
I can't believe they have the same test for TB as they did in my dad's day in the 60s you would think in this day and age the was better test for T B
My neighbour lost 46 cows out of 115. Never had TB before. Disaster for farmers.
And the struggle goes on 🐄 . Real life stories from farmers

So sorry Richard. Just what you don’t need. My heart sank when I saw the title. Kia kaha (stay strong) 🇳🇿🚜
Hi Richard sorry to hear you have had a bad results from the TB test it's always bad when you have to loose a cow keep your chin up my friend
You have my sympathy Richard. We had TB early this year. Luckily we've gone clear now, but it was a right pain and somewhat depressing. At least its not as bad as when Cowfarmerdan had it; he had it terrible experience.
Merry Christmas to you the boys and the Mrs, Keep your chin up. It will surely turn around soon. God bless
Thanks, buy yourself a pint.
thanks Mike. appreciate that
As a farmer, I don’t mind failing the skin test if they have it. But it’s absolutely rare they have it.
I do wonder how reliable the test is?.
Stay strong richard, farmers are getting kicked every which way all the time, your right about the financial point, we're all behind you,we all feel your pain, maybe not financially, but definitely emotionally, keep going
Very sorry for your test failure…we back all our farmers… even if that “@@@@“ at number 10 doesn’t…stay strong and crack on…
Oh no, saw the title and my heart dropped. I am so so sorry. Especially since the government/officials aren't doing anything!!
that shed you walked through can that be made into a calf pen keep calves til autum should cleear tb test
Absolute nightmare. Government need to revisit the Thornbury trial’s information. What to do is all there which I’m sure you know.
Happy chrismas

Happy Christmas to you both 🍷🍷🚜

I remember our cows being tested 60 years ago…
Sorry to hear you failed tb test. I no your fond of wild which is good but they should be tested and vaccinated because it will never be solved
Hi awful news, as you said something needs to be sorted , but like everything else , starmer and co not listening
What's the end goal of the powers that be?

👀🙄🐾👍🎄🎅Good luck
Sorry to hear that Richard.
if the gov want 20 percent then everything a farmer needs should discounted 20 percent
"Pot Pourri" it's all gone "Chateauneuf du Pape" thanks to "ern plonker" in Whitehall, I thought you would like Del Boy take on it, it must be like driving up hill with the Handbrake on.
I farmer, and know how you see , things , take it to the Lord in Pray , Put it on His shoulder in pray ! Amen 🙏🙏🙏
Madens me when they go to factory and kill out clear,no wonder no young people want to take up farming, hard to blame em,I'm testing v soon so every test is nerving,at least I always say,it's out side the door, happy xmas
Starmer wants to put solar panels, not farming. 😢
Gutted for you, its far far beyond the time the Govn should have a) sorted this out and b) stepped up with proper compensation.
So sorry Richard. Like I told Ian, I think it's the badgers. I'm of course talking out my butt but that's what I think. Some lead therapy would surely help.
Sorry about the TB test Richard. Can you use BCG if you want to?
I feel for you really do dairying is hard and sadly largely under appreciation, there always something nothing runs smoothly I had cow do the splits this morning, a few cases of mastitis recently just drives me mad the worry of it resilience you need it in spades to do this job
and meanwhile the starmer wants farmers to plant trees to make more woodlands to atracked more wildlife like badgers
The tester making 30 grand plus out of finding TB they never going to sort it out
You farmers need to club together and build a fund to get independent testing done on all "positive" results - there needs to be more scrutiny.
Hi Richard do u have a lot of deer in ur area as they are a major carrier of tb not just the badgers mite be worth investigating it
Gutted for you richard
Sorry to hear that mate
Systems shit makes you wonder why farmers don’t sell up and work in Tescos best of luck
With the average age of farmers now pushing 60 in the UK I think a lot of the next generation already are.
Get your pow pow and fix it.
If your milk got warm and kept mixing it would tern into a tank of butter
Nuts
Sorry Richard , you'd think that they could have come up with a vaccine by now r at least be able to test if the animal has tb without culling it
🥰 xxxxxxxxxxxx
So sorry. Gutted for you and Ian.xxxxxxxxxx
The lumps a very small. Could have let them go clear
Bloody awful news.
Plus the first cow had not got tb
Not again, the same story over here and no better after all the years. Any way chin up 👍
Why are you keeping the cows with the calf. That makes no sense. Take the calf from the cow after a few hours and train them to a teat feeder.
we don't have the shed space for the calves. we're not geared up for keeping them as we normally sell them on
🙏🙏💪💪🇮🇪🇮🇪👍👍👌👌👏👏

You have bad times all the time
and they could not give bull calfs away you could pick up bull calfs for 50 pence.

A money racket for the vets!!
Why you don’t park the air compressor inside the milk room then won’t be outside. I think maybe they will last longer. They are actually better outside with rain protection as you need good airflow, particularly in summer.
