I can't imagine Caroline as the type who would cheat on her husband. I really like the theory of Caroline being the wizards daughter, making Abigail his granddaughter. This would also explaine why Abigail had hair color similar to Pierre before she dyed it, and why Caroline feels drawn to the tower. Concerned Ape is also the kind of person who would love to throw us for a loop so I could see it happening.

That is very plausible when you take in the fact that magical beings have longer lifespans than non-magical beings, hence why Rasmodius looks like he couldn't be not much older than 40.

The wizard also mentions that he has an ex-wife witch and that he made a mistake a long time ago and she got so angry she turned green. And the witch also happens to have statues that allow you to wipe memories of exes and turn kids into doves.

Well yes, but you do realize that the witch's skin is green, and in the *spoiler alert* Dark Talisman quest you can find out that he said that his wife was a witch and when he divorced her, she went off cursing the countryside. Even more proof to this, there is a interactable book in the witch's hut, called: "Cursing The Countryside!". Case closed.
Minor correction: if you faint at 2am, the main consequence is the up to 1000g, but there can be an Energy penalty. You get less Energy after sleeping if you go to sleep after 12am, and the later it is, the less Energy you get back. However, if your existing Energy is more than the Energy youβd be at from going to sleep late, your Energy remains where it was, and you recover no Energy. If your Energy is nearly empty, and you faint at 2am, this will result in little to no energy being gained from sleeping, which can impact you the next day.
I just get ~1,000 iridi berries during the berry season. Solves my energy problems since each berry gives 60 energy. I think 60k energy will last a while.
I always wondered why my enery fluctuates when I wake up after passing out. A few times it replenished fully and I was super confused.

If you level up a skill, you'll always have full energy the next day.
There is a strange mechanic with that, if you leveled up a skill, you will always wake up with 100% energy regardless if you passed out or slept late π

4:20 don't forget that caroline says that Abigail was born with light chestnut hair (same as Pierre). I think that if anything caroline is his daughter as that fits with the wizard being slightly unsure who it is because caroline wasn't born in the valley.

not just that, but, likely wizard give you a suspicious drink, Caroline give you a suspicious tea
My head cannon is that Caroline is actually the Wizard's daughter, and Abigail being his granddaughter
Yeah that makes more sense because then we could argue with Abigail's hair staying purple, it's just the Wizard's genes because no hair dye would naturally stay that long

The geode prismatic shard reminds me that last week I had started a new farm and opened seven Omni geodes. I thought, "Lol wouldn't it be funny if I got a prismatic shard from one of these? It's like a .0 something chance right?" And then two geodes later I got a prismatic shard. It was a bad luck day too, haha. Nice to know it doesn't actually have an effect on that.
I have 400 hours in game and I found out that you can safely fall asleep at the mines only a couple days ago π

My theory was that Jas is the Wizard's daughter. She has purple hair too and it would be an interesting misdirect especially considering that she parents don't appear at all.
Her parents died in a car accident though
I get this weird mental image about Wizard accidentally spilling his gunk in the cauldron, resulting in the summoning of... Jas!
I'd say why would Abigail being the daughter be hinted at so much, but I want to believe your theory because that would be hilarious.

i always figured that the wizard gave Caroline a potion to help her. Alchemy seems to be a thing for him (vanilla game i mean) so i figured that Caroline was befriending him on her walks (taking him home cooking perhaps? a wizard might be able to eat conjured food, but its not very good for you lol) untill he accepted that she wasnt trying to trick him. then she begged him to help her.
and i figured that he had to use a chunk of his hair in the potion, hence why Abigails hair is purple...
I'm just glad it cant be the player character, because now i have the stardew expanded mod (and he's a marrageable in that lol) one of my saves is gona put a ring (blue shell pendant? lol) on that guy!
(even when you play as a male character, it stays as 'daughter', so it cant be the player. it would change to 'son' if the player character was the child)
and, i just had a thought....what if purple hair means magical tallent? maybe Abigail could go to the stardew worlds school of magic and be trained?
(i decided the save im going to marry the wizard on lol. her name is Violet and she has purple hair. caught myself thinking of this as i clear my giant farm of trees and rocks, thinking of 'summoned axes' and magical tools lol.)
if you talk to him more than once at the stardew fair (the one with the grand display) he mentions he thinks he knows the clown from maybe the 'school of illusion' or the carnival (cant remember what the carnivals name is XD) so there must be a couple of magic schools.
maybe the next game ConcernedApe makes will be a magical game with a wizarding school....(i know the guys that did starbound are doing that, but there is always room for more games)
But wasnt Abigail's hair dyed?

7:07 There actually are min/max runners who use this mechanic! Bla_De used a tile with the double luck mechanic to get 60 potatoes from a single tile in a challenge run. Doubling the crop yield is a fun thing to do when you can really make the most of it.

Ape has made it pretty clear that there is no "canon" answer to the Abigail question and is completely up to the player on what they want to believe.
You want to believe Abby is is kid? Then she is.
You want to believe someone else is his kid or that he's mistaking about having a daughter? Then she's not.
I now wanna say Penny is his daughter, or maybe Robin has a kid with the wizard and his real kid is sebby

I thought 1-4 generic* foragables try to spawn on each map overnight, but only if there are fewer than 3 on the map already.
If you wait until Saturday, then you'll have fewer foragables because a bunch were stopped from spawning.
*spring onions, berries, and beach litter have their own rules.

I think you're right! However if you have to choose just one day a week to go foraging it's better to go on Saturday
So the best would be forage twice a week, in wednesday and saturday
I got an auto petter from killing a bug in the dangerous mines (you can also get them from special slimes I think and crates in the dangerous mines)

6:24 multiple Lucky Rings on the same day: Note that the RNG seed is depending on your fixed player id, the tile location, and total played days. So, if you pan the same tile multiple times a day, you always get the exact same items.
I've noticed a 2500g loss when passing out on Ginger Island. I've also never gotten a mail notice of the loss like when passing out in the valley/desert.
Ginger Island is more then Pelican Town sadly

Iβve had mine sitting in my chest too, I have no where to put it. My coops are already decorated, and the other buildingβs themes donβt really fit it.
This is a fantastic video format! I'm new to the game and learning little nuances like passing out at 2AM vs in combat are real game changers!
Yeah! There's a lot of neat little tricks in this game that make things a bit more efficient. Spam clicking trees is a bit faster than holding down click to chop them (and leave the stumps until you can upgrade your axe, it's just not worth the energy early game for the 1 exp they give you), and there's even animation cancelling if you're into that (I don't remember off the top of my head how to but it is a PC only feature, something to do with holding the "end" key and something else iirc). Hope you enjoy your time in stardew valley! :D
In earlier stages of the game it used to say that Abigails hair was just naturally purple. After a few updates the dialog changed to say she dyes her hair but I mean still be dosnt do it all the time so it is weird her hair stays purple. I think it's a true theory but yea it's hard to 100% confirm if it actually is but to me I think it's true lol

I went to the fifteen floor on normal mine to get some rocks, it was a neutral day. One of the green slimes gave me a prismatic shard. I can't believe how lucky I am
For losing items you can just get them back at the guild through item recovery
was always confused why people thought that Abigail was the wizard's daughter because I got the 'Abigail's hair used to be chestnut color' before The dialogue about the wizard having a child living in the community T.T
Whenever Joja corp finds me on my farm all i can think it "Why the heck were you on my farm at 3:00 am??"
Slight math correction: If iridium quality truffles sell for 1,250 gold and truffle oil with the artisan perk sells for 1,400, that's an extra 150 gold profit, not 250.
they sell for 1491 with artisan so she's actually closer with "250"

sounds like an editing mistake, the "400gold" sounds mashed together. Followed by the "240 gold", with 1491g on-screen shortly after.
Too bad that small increase in gold doesnβt make up for the processing time; the gold per day (especially when factoring in the cost of all the oil makers and time wasted on backlog) is lower then If you sold all iridium truffles. Gold per day.
Truffle oil max sells for 1491g but it Takes 6 hours to process a truffle to oil but most people throw a batch and leave it to collect the next day. If you set it and forget it so you can do other things that day
745.5 g/d (if you set aside the truffles for pick up the next day so 2 day turn around) or 1,173.6 (if you processes into oil all 4 times a day 1.25 day turn around)

I still think Emily is the Wizard's daughter personally, due to her visions.

Luck is an evil mechanic. I just spent all of my first spring in permanent bad luck days.
Abigail can also see and talk to the junimos, so yeah, there's more evidence that she is the wizard's daughter. You know she didn't get that from Pierre. lol

I think this is too far from many theories i've seen and heard about wizard-caroline-abigail connection but i think abigail's hair color, her fondness for adventure and battling stuff, and the ability to eat anything even gems (lol) is because she was chosen by the so called "spirits" by the wizard to be his apprentice. She even hangs out near the tower (i forgot what days and season she does this). There is also i quote if i remember correctly that the wizards speaks to certain elementals during the rain, as a coincidence abigail finds the valley more interesting in the rain. These quotes may be a bit vague but idk.
That's neat, I've considered the same possibility! I think it initially occurred to me when one time I walked into his tower and he mentioned needing to find an apprentice, and then Abigail was right outside his tower when I went outside haha. And then I started thinking of the other pieces fitting together

So did they remove the mechanic where a Joja Mart person can find you passed out and they will charge you a fee and say it looked like you "got robbed" to explain missing items? Because I had that happen to me, but it was a few years ago π
This happens when you fall asleep outside the mines, happened to me as well. She's talking about safely sleeping in the mines.
@@valentinalopez5073 While Im glad someone else confirmed this happens (thank you!) the video specifically shows her pass out outside of her house, not in the mines. (1:15 - 1:19)
I feel like i remember this happening, but its been a few years, all i know is that you can safely pass out anywhere now and youll only lose 1000 gold
This still happens, but as far as I know the part about getting robbed has always been about explaining why you lost money, not items. I don't believe you've ever been able to lose items when passing out. I also believe it's random who finds you when you pass out, whether it's Linus, Joja, Harvey, Marlon, or anyone else I'm not remembering.

Luck actually does have a minuscule influence on the contents of a fishing treasure chest: if you have a luck bonus from food, drinks or a lucky ring, any small glow or magnet rings you find will be big ones instead! Objectively the most useless luck mechanic I've seen in stardew valley
i've got 3 stone owls, they seem fairly common.
There used to be a bug in the game that made them much rarer than intended, luckily for us, it is fixed now

Iβm playing on Switch so I canβt use the predictor, but Iβm in year two Winter & have already had two witches, one meteor, the owl statue, & yesterday the strange capsule. I guess I have a good seed π€·π»ββοΈ
The owl and a capsule have a much bigger chance to spawn since the last update! I think everyone has them on their farm now. Early on in game tho they were so rare that many players considered them to be myths because almost no one would get them lol.
@@yuliam2086 yeah it's wild I was at the end of year 1 before the update and got maybe one crop fairy and a meteor. Now I'm halfway through year 2 and got a crop fairy, 2 witches, an owl statue, and the real kicker (about one in-game week after the owl): a strange capsule followed by a meteor the very next night.
I got startled at the discord notification noises in the intro lol
What about Jas as the Wizard's daughter?
Jas naturally has purple hair, she lives with her Aunt Marnie (who lives pretty close to the wizards tower and rather out of town).
Also the Wizard said his ex turned green so if she is the Witch she doesn't look like she did before so she could likely be Marnie's sister.
Marnie or the witch could have made up the story of the car crash to hide the little girl that might grow up into magical powers like her parents.

Also, quick correction: Abigail originally had Auburn hair like her Dad and she dyed it purple. So while I love the theory about Abigail, it doesn't seem super likely that she's the Wizard's daughter since her natural hair color matched Pierre's. But that's just my opinion π
I like (someone else said this and now I love it) Caroline is the daughter of the wizard like she has green hair like the witch (who the wizard use to be married too) Caroline use to take walks up to his tower, Maybe to see Dad?

So luck affects the likelihood of finding a ladder in the mines, but does it affect the number of monsters in the mine? Sometimes I go to the mines on a "very lucky" day but still get swarmed by monsters, and on "less lucky" days sometimes there are fewer monsters.
You don't lose items if you "pass out" in the mines because it's 2am, but you DO still lose items if you pass out because you get defeated, right? That's happened to me before. That myth wasn't exactly busted...
Passing out is not the same as being defeated in battle...

I could swear those dialogues about Abigail didn't used to exist in the game. I could be wrong, but I do not recall ever seeing them playing it years ago. Is it possible CA added them in a more recent update as a nod to the fan theory?

4:17 ...Theres a few vids involving getting Caroline, Pierre, and the Wizard to 8? hearts or so, then a cutscene about Abigail seeing the Junimos and then you catching Caroline sneaking off to the wizard. It alls oun outta control Dunno if it was modded or not. Worth investigating. Im playing through.... again.... to see if its true myself.

To be honest, I think Caroline is actually his daughter, hence her green hair. And Abigail's looks are just passed down from her.

7:45 I just got my first prismatic shard from bugs in the mines XD
Last week I was running through the mines and killed a random slime and got a prismatic shard, I thought "wow so lucky" and then I went one floor down, killed another random slime and got another prismatic shard :x
Are we gonna ignore the fact that Jas has the same hair color and skin tone as the Wizard?
There are also two different kinds of luck, in effect, because some things are determined each day when the world is refreshes and others are affected by luck boosting food.

When you sell crops to Pierre, they don't get cataloged in the completion guide.
Meanwhile, my third file had the Strange Capsule event as the second event after the meteor, in my first summer.
I got a Dinosour egg and I was like hell yeah am keeping it

is it better to gift someone an item without levels than an iridium one? example sam loves pizza and cactus fruit. is it better to give him a regular pizza or an iridium cactus? or are they the same?

Does selling to Pierre get counted towards your total money made count on your player menu?
It should, it just doesn't count towards the total shown on the shipping tab in your collections window
It shouldn't reflect what you sell to Pierre anyway. Where is the logic in that? It should and does only display the money you made from using it to ship items.. π€¦ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ Do you expect your doormat to clean your feet and open the door? π
I managed to get a lucky ring from a haunted skull in the quarry mine. The wiki doesn't show it as a possible drop from them.
If I were to los my infinity gauntlet I fking hope that Linus would be the one who take it and rule the universe as a God he truly is.
I am not sure if this is a bug but I passed out on ginger island in the volcano and then passed out in the skull cavern and I could not get the items back from item retrieval that were lost on ginger island.

Dying is a pain in stardew, one of the first times I played I lost my only weapon and I didn't have the adventurers guild unlocked..

Remember Pierreβs secret behind the bookshelf? I have a personal head cannon itβs a test for wether Abigail is his daughter or not. I assume it came back negative, because why would he keep it otherwise?
Not to brag but I started a new farm and somehow, idk how, I fished up a Dino egg in the middle of summer, I started to incubate it and moved on, the next day I was fishing and got another one, on a worst possible luck day, I loved it

What's the purpose of life?
Stardew valley: purple star.
Personally, I think it should be 1-10% of your gold, not a flat 1k gold. Plus, it would be nice if players had the option to stay up late or pay the fee to be transported back to their house. It would be also interesting if this was an option at all times during the day once you've gotten your first warp totem. Anyways, I think some interesting mechanics could be added to Stardew Valley to breathe new life into this retro art-style game.
I think it would be funny if in an update they showed a button in Lewis's house which is (make everyone passout button) like what adult can't stay up passed 2am....Lewis is making us all passout so he can sneak into our house and do sketchy stuff.

Luck also affects rabbits' feet and duck feathers drop rates
