Thank you was waiting for him to say if it is light weight as I too am getting on in age and I can not use the pole chainsaw any more as it is too heavy. :)
Just got exact same one! Love it! It's saved me a ton of money with landscapers. Having to pay to them to control my trees! This is a gem! Just here trying to see how to charge this thing? Doesn't say in my instructions
I too have one of these & it’s worth it’s weight in GOLD to me! Makes for *quick* breakdowns with tree branches, heavy bushes, you name it. The chain does loosen quickly but a minor trade-off for an easy to handle, lightweight tool.
It was nice to see how long the battery lasted. I was gifted one for Christmas to do smaller scale wood carving. Mine came in a hard case. I was told to oil the chain to keep it going. I will be using it later this week to try it out. Thanks for the review!
You have to oil the chain or the wear will be much increased. Likely these 4" bar and chain saws with become obsolscent quickly with no replacement parts when you need them. I have one that I use on my tree farm and had to wait almost month for a replacement bar to be sent. I use a large syringe filled with bar and chain oil now to lubricare the chain and bar. Since the oiling is manual, most oil will leave the chain long before storage. No stains observed in the toolbox in my truck from leftover oil in the chain. Two years to harvest, then I start over for my Son to carry on the business. He is eager to follow in my footsteps, helps out on weekends and likes my little chainsaw.
I mean, it's just a suggestion but you can empty your milwaukee of its bar oil to store.. run it thru a cut and dry off the chain. You can even use it w/o oil just like this model ~
You started the video with the attitude like you just wanted/expected it to fail! After the first 15+ cuts... I was sold but when you passed 50... DAYUM! I just bought the green one from an Amazon return store for $8. Without charging the batteries I pruned 6 small trees in my back yard... (there was a lot of pruning!) Then cut about 5 lower limbs that were up to 3" Dia. before the first battery ran out on the last limb. Mine did the same as yours had to re-press to get about 5 more cuts. First thing I said was "THIS IS GOING IN MY CAMPING GEAR!" PS: IMAGINE HOW MANY MORE CUTS YOU WOULD HAVE GOT IF YOU OILED IT! 😅😂😊
I have a problem I lost the charger for my 6 inch mini chainsaw and I don’t know if I can get another charger for it because I’ve tried looking and all I’ve seen is Black and Decker chargers that’s really going to suck if I can’t replace the charger because then the saw will be useless.
I lost most of the use of my right arm, thought this was a god send to help keep my large yard full of trees and bushes looking nice. the first one i bought off ebay lasted for 6 cuts, the seller sent me a new one no questions, put it together and went out and made about 6 more cuts nice and easy not forcing the cut, then it stopped running. have 2 pieces of junk to throw in the trash. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I agree with your concern over the mess of oil but I'm somewhat tolerant to the "mess" from silicon spray as it is easy to wipe and doesn't smell much and I think silicon spray would provide adequate wetting of the friction surfaces. A little spray before each usage should do the trick wouldn't you think? Great video by the way.
Soap is slippery, and any excess help clean whatever it drips on. I make various little spray bottles to clip on my belt with Dawn, water and a little washing soda(even more slipperyness). What do you call the hippies wife? Mississippi.
Good review. Those 18650s are probably 1500 mah. Most of these come with batteries that say 1.5ah or 3ah. That's not bad though because high drain cells are usually lower capacity. I just ordered a 6" one off ebay that was $40. I hope it's not junk.
@@marissashelley2362 I have received it and used it a few times. It has worked well so far. One thing that I found out that I didn't think of is that the battery packs can be used for other things. The one I got will use Makita batteries. There are adapters available to fit Makita batteries that will allow them to used for powering other things. I adapted some lanterns using very bright 12-24v LED 'bulbs' from ebay. I'm now working on another project that will use them also.
The best part is you can upgrade to various length of bar and chain, its available in amazon and aliexpress.. i upgraded mine to 10 inch bar and using makita 6ah battery which i already have for my hammer drill, that setup is so powerful and pack plenty of torque, i have tested it to takedown a full grown 14 inch diameter tree without any stalling..
Various size of bar and chain available in amazon and aliexpress, i upgraded mine to 10 inch and using 6ah makita battery.. that setup pack a lot of torque, now i no longer grab my gas stihl.
I was very surprised how well the 6" saw I bought works. I'm impressed, and mine was $43. So I know it cuts, I know it's light and I know I like using it. I HATE to anything good about Chinese junk but so far, this thing was a good purchase for an aging guy who cuts, splits and stacks 6 cords for winter. All that remains is how long it will last and how well the chain holds up.
@@tetradgroup first time chainsaw user here....could you please explain how to oil, how much and where on the bar best to add the oil? Also, how often should oil be used? Really appreciate the help.
@@47chrystal i use thicker oil such as 80w-90 transmission oil or sae 140 axle oil so the chain wont be dry too fast.. the chain will make some noise when its running dry.. oil between the chain and bar.
@@harisyoung4110 thank you for the info. I did use the chainsaw and was really surprised how well it worked, I did oil the chain with chainsaw oil I bought but I only put it on top of the chain. Thank you for your reply. I will do it your way now. 🙂 it's a really handy little machine!
@@harisyoung4110 well where do you put the oil? For someone who has never done it, I need to know. Just put it directly on the chain? Drench it? Lightly apply? Put it all over the chain?
Purchased based on your review. Love it! Let's me do all of the little projects around the house that requires a power tool but not a full sized chain saw.
