musicfog.com Lake Street Dive perform at their debut Music Fog session. Recorded in Nashville, TN during the 2011 Americana Music Festival and Conference.
SHe is no Stanley Clark.... yet will serve. Hey does anyone listen to Return to Forever anymore? Look up the album cover of Romantic Warrior to see the real origin of the Darth Vader helmet, if not the whole Jedi warrior legends.
He's progressed so much on guitar, it's easy to overlook what a fabulous trumpet player McDuck is. Love 'em all! Just clock how much Ms Price enjoys her bandmates' talent!
Great singing, great playing, great writing, great presence, great everything. You all look like your heads are screwed on straight. I hope you never comprise and remain friends forever.
These guys are incredible. Got to see them in Telluride at the bluegrass festival and they were the highlight of the weekend. So so good. And Rachel Price, just wow.
Lake street dive is really the only now a days band I like cause its real music I'm an 80s kid ad grew up soon classic rock and lake street dive has inspired me to look at music differently it doesn't have to be complicated with ripping leads to be just great but simple and easy listening makes it great keep up with new material cause I'm definitely a true fan
The trumpet player at 1.55..... 'What about that solo then?,you guys aint worthy, lol' Great innovative band, enjoying watching their career develop.Hope they keep the fun element going, they always look unstressed.
Classic Lake Street Dive performance October 2011 from their self titled album "Lake Street Dive". Song, by Bridget Kearney and obviously stylized by the band. Think this is a repost but a very good idea FOG!!
This is the first time we've posted this song, other than the original live broadcast of the entire session. Yes, it's from October, 2011. Search "Lake Street Dive MusicFog" to watch all the songs we've posted from this session.
Every time I see at thumbs down on their videos I wonder who and why, and I've come to the conclusion that its angry wives/girlfriends that are pissed off that their men spend so much time drooling over Rachael and Bridget.
Nah.. it's just guys like me, having hit the `Hello Goodbye` link with the mouse, then slowly hovering over the Thumbs button and - bat - getting hit by Mick´s first hit on the drums and Bridget insistent bass riff. Twitch ! Dislike ... OOpps
Oh Sweetie, that you immediately default and feel motivated to type out some bizarre manifestation of motivation stemming from an intrinsically maniacal patriarchy, says way more about your low resolution understanding of the world, then the men who find Rachel and/or Bridget attractive. If feminism interests you, perhaps settle in to one of Ms. Camille Paglia's lectures, as she is vastly more intelligent & nuanced than the screeching-shrill third-wave harpies who are a cancer upon feminism. The more your know 🌠
I understand your point. But what else is music than a tune I kinda heard some time ago, and I'm trying to pass it on to the next generations. All music IS folk music - passed from one folk to another. That's what we want from music, a generational language.
Oh, there's a whole lot more going on than that in "Hello? Goodbye." Compare the acrobatic melody Rachael actually sings to Paul Newman's vocals and you'll find little similarity. There *is* some similarity in the chord progression, though even that isn't really the same.
Yea, I was thinking this had to be before 2014 (description says 2011). McDuck isn't wearing glasses, and Rachael's face is "rounder" (not at all "fat", though).
Rachael Price - hands on hips, face in mic, kicking ass. Great stuff all around.
This is true virtuosity all around. And it is the epitome of cool: easy, unforced mastery.

I meant "compromise your musical message " it's so unique
What an amazing band, great vocals, and musicians, and these women are so beautiful and sensual.
These guys are incredible. Got to see them in Telluride at the bluegrass festival and they were the highlight of the weekend. So so good. And Rachel Price, just wow.
Music Fog;; Thank you, all of your music is very good ..
Yeesh... every single song they do is freaking great.
so much talent that it leaves you angry

Really glad to see the group make it. Thanks for sharing Music Fog!
I met them in Sydney and Adelaide this year (2015) THEY ARE AMAMZING fave band EVER!
Hope they come back to Aus one day
I first remember hearing them in Seattle at Fry's Electronics about 4 months ago ... Man have I been hooked ever since
trumpet, voice : very good sound. Love it
A voice strong enough to blend with a brass horn is truly rare. Treat it with due respect my friends.
Musicfog always excellent and this band truly gifted! Oh thank you!!
Another great number from LSDive--how can so many of their songs be so terrific?
I don't know, but so far as I can tell, the percentage is hovering very near 100%.
Powerfull and great. sung , Rachel Price ! Cheers Christopher
Possibly my favorite number of theirs. Everyone in top form. Just great stuff all around -- swingin'!
When is the last time you've head a REAL snare drum roll incorporated into a great piece of music? ummmmm never?
Their best evah! Wicked good!
Awesome. Awesome. And Awesome.
+1 to the bassist/writer, Bridget Kearney. Just really clever lyrics.
Great singing and playing. Hope to catch you soon.
Love this band! That bassist in particular. 👀
Fantastic bass player. Go Bridget!
Félicitation! De toute beauté! Ça sonne vraiment bien!
Lake Street Dive est le genre de groupe qui me donne le goût de danser!
It's a great race we all get to watch -- Lake Street Dive vs. Lucius.
Horn played just right!!
Brilliant
Nice....
Oh shit.. i think i love her
Damn fine...
Best horn I've ever heard!
He finds a way to get it in there!
It's sometimes delightfully loose and unpolished. But best ever heard? No.
If I had the money, I'd invest in that voice....
The trumpet player at 1.55..... 'What about that solo then?,you guys aint worthy, lol' Great innovative band, enjoying watching their career develop.Hope they keep the fun element going, they always look unstressed.
Rocccckkkkksss!

the look Rachael makes at the end of the song is so hot
tight band! beautiful lead singer

+Robby Rupple I'm guilty. Cannot get" Bad Self Portraits" out of my head. You no' what I mean?. Wife don't care.
+Denny Tidwell It's "go down Smooth", form e, but at least my wife is LONG-GONE!
Maybe it's all the misogynist men who can't handle Rachel and Bridget's magnificence.

The more your know 🌠
bass nailed it in the firt 3 bars
nice beatles pliagiat :)
This is just the tune of 'Plastic Jesus', a 1957 song famously sung by Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke.
I understand your point. But what else is music than a tune I kinda heard some time ago, and I'm trying to pass it on to the next generations. All music IS folk music - passed from one folk to another. That's what we want from music, a generational language.

I'm still trying to find any similarity worth comparing....

Not an EZ key for the trumpet player either :) Great stuff
Yep, E concert is not a whole lot of fun to play in for most of us. Doesn't bother "McDuck" any, though.
I would like to apologize for my comments on Lake St. Dive. While I was disappointed I regret insulting them.
Cuter than Taylor Swift. More talented than Taylor Swift. Why is she not as rich and famous as Taylor Swift?!
+Random G That kind of questioning leads, inexorably, to questions like, why was Barabbas chosen. They don't show the human race in a good light.
+Random G - Taylor Swift can't carry a tune in a basket. If it wasn't for auto tune Swift couldn't record any songs.
Random G homie, far cuter.
Random G
Just give 'em time!! It will happen . . . PEACE♦
who the hell ok'ed this mix ?
Shame on them
From now on it's goodbye for lake street dive. Bunch of fake people. Concert in Santa Fe sucked.
???
Kevin. I wasn't there. Never seen them live. Any band, person, can have a bad day or performance. They're human after all.
You expected perhaps Lady Gaga?
Haha, on how many of their videos have you complained? So far I think I've seen two; sounds like someone's butt-hurt about something.
somehow I doubt your opinion is qualified, kevin.
