No swearing. No profanity. No racism. No anti-religion. Just self deprecation. RIP Big boy. You left the stage too soon. No more standing in line. We are still laughing....
@Stix N' Stones No it’s because you rarely see such a clean comedian gets so famous. Comedy is meant to make light of dark subjects to make talking about the more bearable, as such jokes covering darker topics tend to be more entertaining and attract a wider audience. Comedians like John, who focus almost entirely on self deprecation and speak very cleanly, rarely make it big and are almost always small time acts. QThe reason John is so beloved it’s because of his talent, his attitude, and because his jokes are still funny 5, 10, 15 years later.
Some commented that John doesn't use profanity. The first time I ever saw him he came out and said " I have lost 120lbs. (Many applause) Most people say yea I see it in your face. See it in my face? How big was my fucking head?" I did not see it coming and he killed me. He did use profanity in the early years but quickly learned that he didn't need it. My favourite comedian of all time. R.I.P. big guy.
I went to High School with John. The most innocent lunatic I’ve ever met. My god was he funny. I worked at a comedy club called Stevie D’S in Middleton , Ma. The man introducing John is Mike McDonald. Funny man
A gentle guy who defined comedy. A true comedian who had the looks and demeanor to make fun of himself without insulting other people or constantly cursing. Miss you JP.
What I loved about John was that he was a genuinely funny man...without even trying. He was always himself. Nowadays comedians think running around on stage, insulting people and swearing is funny. It makes me miss John a lot.
He didn't rely on cursing or vulgarity but, even in this vid, he said "asshole" and "ass" and "hell," etc. ... but, to paraphrase the late Robin Williams, "It's ok, children, we've used these words today in a sentence." :p
O.G. BigHosMan it was a great pleasure to see his show in person about a year or less before he passed. He was the best comedian I ever seen and you could watch it with your kids too.
He would have been just before his 24th birthday for this point in early 1988, no wonder why he looks so very young... so sad he passed away just after turning 50 in 2014.
This man made me laugh like no other. If you cannot find the flaws in yourself and make light of them, you are simply naive. We are all flawed in so many ways. I cannot count my flaws. I only wish I had the genius to make a buck pointing them out. Pinette is a personal hero for me in that he showed me it's ok to be flawed. We are all human.
R.I.P from Boston John .. wow... just GENIUS...and GENIUS lives on! wish we still had you...."stopped shoveling in 78' when I shoveled 55" of partly cloudy with chance of flurries "😂😂😂😂😂
Comedians use racism, profanity and religion in their acts but not John. He was a true comedian who made you laugh everytime you see him on UA-cam even with the same material. LEGENDARY. RIP
Stix N' Stones did I offend you by my comment? Its my opinion and I don’t like shameless people like yourself who interfere with stuff that’s none of their business!
My heart still bleeds that he's gone. I"ve given friends and family so much joy, turning them on to his comedy. One of my best memories is getting his autograph after his show at CapCity Comedy here in Austin maybe 4-5 years back; he was trying out some new material for "Still Starving" and totally rocked the joint. He was just so *nice* - friendly, patient, taking pictures with all his fans, it is WAY too bad that cell phone cameras were not common yet, and my partner and we did not get a picture of us with him doing the curious killer whales. What a kind, generous, piss-your-pants-funny man. My partner and I had his dvd of "I"m Starving" that we would pay for friends, one of whom was literally squealing and laughing so hard, gasping for air, BEGGING us to stop the disk so she could catch her breath. So of course you know we had to tweak her after that, doing the curious killer whales peering around the corner at her when we'd be out shopping.
You been here FOUR HOUR!!! Why you eat spare reeb you so beeeeg!!!! Eat broccorreee!!! John was one of my favorite people in the world, and by far the best comedian.

He got outta the line.
Swearing and profanity are the same thing, and he does plenty of it in this very video.
Swearing at 3:18
I don't care what a Comedian says, as long as they make me laugh. John always did..😂 ♥️

10 years gone, he was hilarious!!! RIP John Pinette!!
Always enjoined John Pinette when he was alive. So glad all these clips are available so young people can watch him perform, too.
I was blessed to shake this mans hand ,and get him to sign a CD cover of his first CD...
I went to High School with John.
The most innocent lunatic I’ve ever met.
My god was he funny.

He was only 23... I miss him. He was my favorite comedian. So glad I got to see him perform live.
You are so lucky.
Did he pass away??😳
@@generalzod8589 yeah. In 2013 due to diabetes
He wasn’t 23 when he died. He was 50
He was 50 ???
True legends never die. Can rewatch every special on repeat

Anybody who says John Pinette wasn't a great comedy I say "Oh, nay nay!"
Only discovered John by coming across those two guys that ran Pinett tapes on UA-cam. I fell in love with the guy. Just great.
Thank you for bringing us laughter and joy through the years, We miss you John, Rest in peace.
His genius was already on display, thanks you John
He was decent in this set but man he got so good. Very few comedians were as good as John.
36 years ago ,what a comedian.
Yes. He's very missed.
He was a clean comic... no need for foul language.... what a shame he died so young
Miss you, John...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Man he's soooooo young here....
Yea i was wondering how old hed be then
Thank you John for the laughs. Your humor got me through a lot of tough times. Rest in Peace and Rest in Love.
What I loved about John was that he was a genuinely funny man...without even trying. He was always himself. Nowadays comedians think running around on stage, insulting people and swearing is funny. It makes me miss John a lot.
Seems so comfortable and ready. I love his almost all clean comedy, and its still funny!
So refreshing to see a top shelf comic who doesn`t rely on cursing or vulgarity. RIP Mr. Pinette.
He didn't rely on cursing or vulgarity but, even in this vid, he said "asshole" and "ass" and "hell," etc. ... but, to paraphrase the late Robin Williams, "It's ok, children, we've used these words today in a sentence." :p
Or, constant Trump bashing bs. Cobert is NOT a comedian and all the rest of those bums.
O.G. BigHosMan it was a great pleasure to see his show in person about a year or less before he passed. He was the best comedian I ever seen and you could watch it with your kids too.
Wow! John was so talented, what fun he bought!
If you need to laugh because you've had a bad day, listen to John Pinette. Really miss him.
John was 23 years old here. 2 months shy of 24.
Thank you for the smiles John, you're missed, RIP
Wow! This was 30 years ago. Amazing, he really was a talented comedian entertainer.
John found his calling early. Even at this stage he was doing comedy like he'd been at it for years.
It just dawned on me that he was the carjack victim on the last episode of Seinfeld.
He was just a kid here and very funny. He was so at ease with the Audience!
He would have been just before his 24th birthday for this point in early 1988, no wonder why he looks so very young... so sad he passed away just after turning 50 in 2014.
Mr Pinnate you are missed.
Amazing thanks for the upload...love this guy... RIP John
Rest in peace. Its our loss 😢😢😢😢😢😢
R.I.P....First time I heard him, I bought the cd Show Me The Buffett about 7 years ago, I laughed so hard.
As someone old enough to remember the 80s these jokes hit hard 😂 the KMart and musical commercials era
He was so unique.. so funny ... and now .. so missed
Rest well funny man. Miss your comedy.
I miss John. He had the sweetest smile.
John was sooo damn funny. He made his audiences laugh so hard, and have a good time. So sad he died. RIP🙏 J.P.

You normally don't think of accountants as funny, but he sure was. RIP, JP.
He was so funny. You remember. " Get out of the Line!!". At others that can't figure what they want on the McDonald's menu. 🤣🤣😂😂😂
I discovered him late,what a joy !
You left us to soon gone but not forgotten thanks for bringing laughter to the world.
John Pinette obviously had a good taste in music. Caribbean Queen and Breakout et cetera
He was great since the start of his career!
A lot of 80's comedy doesn't age super well, but this is pretty timeless....even with the 80's songs that didn't necessarily age well.
He was a great comedian, he made you laugh without cussing like a sailor.
He left us too early!
We shared the same birthday - God love him - gone far too early😪
Comedians use racism, profanity and religion in their acts but not John. He was a true comedian who made you laugh everytime you see him on UA-cam even with the same material. LEGENDARY. RIP
He used profanity.
john bannister from time to time, but he wasn’t excessive with it. He might swear once or twice in an entire show.
Stix N' Stones did I offend you by my comment? Its my opinion and I don’t like shameless people like yourself who interfere with stuff that’s none of their business!
I'm so over this whole 'every other comedian who isnt clean is bad " trope.
@@andym8557 sorry I shoulda run it by you first then publish your opinion as if it was mine 🙂
miss you ....wish there was more of his material on ... this is a new find for me so its special
I miss this man I never met more than most dead relatives. Thanks for the laughs
RIP you big beautiful funny man ❤❤❤
A flashing comet that light up the sky of comedy and then disappeared. RIP Big boy. Hope you didn’t need to stand in line!
Still miss you John. Hope your cracking them up in heaven.
Love this man. He has only gotten better 😊
He's been dead since 2014.
I agree his comedy improved a great deal. He is a legend. Sorry he left us too soon.
Wow, 30 years ago...... Still one of the best. RIP buddy
The man was fantastic.
John is ridiculously good
I like this man and to see where it started is more than great.
One of the only Boston performances I can find of this Boston kid.
At least we have his videos. John was the best.

His Nyquil bit is hilarious!! Back when Nyquil had 25% alcohol by volume. those were the days LOLOL
Damn, he was a kid here!
LOVE his Billy Ocean at 2:28!!!!!!!

HE’S JUST A BABY!
Clever you, he he he . Remember that line from his story about whales. 😂

God, I love John! I’m so happy I got to see him live. I miss him so much.
@Bobbie Hofer you were very fortunate to have seen him live. He was a great comedian. Top 10 of all time, imho.
this guy was as innovative as Robin Williams when it came to a spontaneous reaction
The mullet on that first guy is godlike
He was only 23 here. I don't think he even wrote the Chinese Buffet routine yet.
this was in boston so this was around the time when he was breaking out and the chinese buffet story was actually happening.
He actually looked like he was thinner here.
26. He was born in '62.
OMG....he's a baby here!
Even back then he killed it!😂😄
I'm so sad he's gone. :-(
We lost a few very funny people this year. First John, now Robin. May they rest in peace.
Genius from day one.
He made me feel like it was okay to be me and not to take myself so serious 😔
Thanks for the memories Mr. Pinette !!
He’s going to the Wizard of Oz buffet in the sky.
There’s no line & no owners screaming “YOU GO NAAAAOOOOO!!!!”
You been here FOUR HOUR!!! Why you eat spare reeb you so beeeeg!!!! Eat broccorreee!!!
John was one of my favorite people in the world, and by far the best comedian.
He was Always funny for me. Thank you. Of course a great name.
How young he was!
He was 24 in this video.
Swing out Sister reference was cool. Missing JP🙏♥🤗
Amazing! I've been a big fan since a good friend recommended JP. This aired about 8 months before I was born!
gone to soon, he was so talented❤
I love how the host just gives him a que and lets him go without interrupting.
Miss him
we lost a great one. Rest In Peace.....
agreed he served us well.
This is why I enjoy comedy so much it stands the test of time.
I am so very sad that he has left the planet...What an incredible comic. RIP big boy...
Bill Burr was talking about him a couple of weeks ago on the Joe Rogan podcast, and spoke very highly of him. RIP John.
Missing this guy......
I heard he does an out of this world stand up at the...
Heavenly Improv, in Los Angelous.😂😂😂😂.
That was for you, Biga boy.
I kept clapping out loud when he was singing
Just a kid, and so good.
One of the good ones 🫡
He was the king of comedy! Rip John!!!!
Damn, I wish he released a full version of those songs. It was on par with Weird Al.
I didn't realize he has passed either. Me & a co-worker listened to him @ work one day & I was in ABSOLUTE TEARS from LMAO!! This man was a SCREAM!!
Oh I say, NAY NAY! We listen to this guy on Spotify at work quite often. Sad that he's passed away before I could see him in person. :(
singing in front of the audience seemed like a risky move, but was effective
1988... the risky move was to tell jokes loll... the singing is to give peoples a break...
@@joseph-mariopelerin7028 ok
I’m glad you agree... good boy!
@@joseph-mariopelerin7028 lol. Alright, man! Have a good one.

He was fantastic doing the shark bit!
