Yo this is why people already making 20 to 25 an hour just got smacked back down to minimum wage level .. once the massive market correction happens everyone is ....Ed ive own my home for 20 years now and already struggling to make it to the next pay check .. life was good in the 90s I could afford to buy extra stuff and definitely worked only 40 hours a week .. I now having to work 70 hours a week driving a semi truck . I would work more hours but the corrupt government passed strict semi truck driver laws making it so we can't work over 70 and over 11 hours a day ..

Exactly. My wife and I managed a restaurant in our early 20s here in California. We worked full time as we went to college together. We paid for school as we went since we worked full time so no government loans, no one else paying our way, we paid for it 100%. My wife became a successful accountant after graduating and I started a career in law enforcement. We have bought and paid off our house, land, save for retirement, etc. We would have never expected the restaurant job to do all of that for us. These types of jobs, especially fast food jobs are stepping stone jobs for high school and college students. They were never meant to be career jobs as they are unskilled jobs. The business model of fast food was cheaper labor and inexpensive, fast food. Because of changing demographics politicians now want these jobs to be career jobs for the overwhelming amount of unskilled labor we now have in the state.
Same with Uber and Lyft drivers….trying to strike. Original idea behind ride-sharing was that you owned your 2010 Corolla and you used the app to pick some up and drop them off in your spare time…make a few extra bucks to add to your income. Not selling your Corolla and leasing a Tesla to become a full time Uber driver (basically a taxi now) and then complaining you can’t makes ends meet driving; wanting to form a union and strike. BS

My wife and I used to get take-out or fast food 1or 2 times a week. Now, we might get a Papa G pizza once a month.

Three guys with our company suffered carbon monoxide poisoning guys. They had been working in a tunnel with a diesel generator. But they were alright until the stepped outside into the fresh air. One passed out as soon as he stepped out the door. Another climbed on top of the building and has no idea why. Another walked off and started walking down the street. He has no idea why. All three got a hospital stay. They had been working for hours near that generator. All three felt fine until they stepped out and hit the fresh air.
