i like the color and the grip it's an upgrade from the classic, it seems nice to use, unfortunately just out of curiosity i've searched other reviews and the slider it's like that, it seems a bad design could be dangerous to use if it doesn't lock properly, i like that you tried to save it with the adjustment to the slider, cool as always :D
Thanks Virtual Virtual! The grip is nice, I'm not going to lie. Glad you checked into the slider as well. I didn't look at reviews ahead of time so I was unbiased, but I'm glad to get confirmation on that front and know it's not just me. I agree, it could be dangerous for those new to utility knives and less experienced (unlike us who know them well). Cheers sir, and appreciate you watching and commenting as always!
The problem with this design is that the blade holder/push button drags on the painted surfaces inside the knife. The paint provides enough friction causing the blade not to retract as freely both in and out. I remedied this by scribbling pencil lead (to act as a solid lubricant) at the tracks where the blade holder slides at and anywhere I can see friction. After some generous scribbling, it works very smooth now just like the Classic 99.
