TRIPREPORT | American Eagle (ECONOMY) | Bombardier CRJ700 | Charlotte - Cincinnati

- Flying domestic in the United States can be cheap, but not if you're flying to mid-size or small cities. Regional flights tend to be quite expensive in the US, but are they good?

PLEASE READ:
Like everyone else, we are very concered about the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We have suspended all travels until at least late-June. However, we have decided to continue to publish videos as usual because luckily, within the past twelve months, we were able to record a lot more videos than we were able to publish. This means we will publish some older Tripreports we weren't yet able to cut and upload. And we have enough of them to continue to publish three Tripreports per week for the foreseeable future!
We ask for your apology for having to upload some older videos which are not necessarily up-to-date. As always, you can see when a video was recorded in the description. Thank you for your understanding. We wish everyone, especially those working in the aviation and travel industry, a lot of strength in this difficult time. Remember to wash your hands and stay safe!
Greetings from Vienna,
David and Felix

Anakin Skywalker yay!
Yes It's also the solution that I'm adopting. Congratulations for your video.
The GoGo WiFi access can be a little finicky at times, the full instruction set is inside the American magazine towards the back.
You might say "uneventful" but sometimes I appreciate humble trip reports with not too flashy airports or planes and crew. Especially I love watching trip reports about mid size US cities. It is warm, relatable and delightful. And I also learnt that the airport is actually in Kentucky and not Ohio!
That's honestly why I love trip reporters like QFS aviation, they show what most flying is really like: dumpy ERJ-145's along the US east coast, not Emirates First Class halfway across the globe
Life was good in 2019.

People say that the CRJ family is bad
I don't know why... Those planes are modern, comfy (for me at least) and just very cool.
There is something special in them
I flew on a CRJ 1000 in Europe this summer. It was a great flight, and the plane is nice.
The only complaints I've heard are about the CRJ 200.
I think most of the complaints were on the "devils chariot" AKA the CRJ-200 which thankfully American has fully done away with. The reason for the 200's hatred was originally designed as a private jet. To accommodate luggage, airlines had the floors of the 200 raised up in the fuselage higher than those of the private jet models. This caused the windows to be painfully low, at your elbows even, so to look outside you have to bend over in this uncomfortable position. The seats as you can imagine were crammed into the plane. This all made the jet just an uncomfortable venture.
Thankfully Bombardier noticed this problem and designed the 700 and later models with larger luggage compartments, eliminating the need for the raised floor, the stretched style of the plane also helped with legroom, albeit only a little.
I’ve got some very sad news
The CRJ family has been retired from Bombardiar. I checked their website and all I can find is small jets that seem more like private jets than actual regional jets
@@superbrownsheep3777Can you provide a source?
I love how the first shot of the terminal just has the piano person playing sweet caroline... in North Carolina.
That was a nice reminder of what life used to be like! I hope we get back there someday soon.❤️👍✈️
@pepe try to have faith
It's slowly starting to get back to normal travel wise. Airports are getting busier.
Who else feels like these videos make you more excited for your next trip?
2:22
I’ve flown on ANA’s domestic Q400 on their regional route from Osaka to Akita, and it was honestly the best legroom I’ve ever experienced period. Great video as always!
I miss being able to travel! Love rewatching your videos. Be safe!
Some lowering clouds over Cincinnati, beautiful!
I flew the CRJ700 with Nordica. I found it a pretty comfortable plane. It's small but the cabin has a good atmosphere and I didn't find it less pleasant to fly with than the bigger B737 or A320.
Fantastic report! Really enjoyed this one! Well done and have a great day
Watching from Nepal
🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵❤💕
I remember how packed Charlotte was. I loved it
I love Charlotte airport a lot. It has a lot of natural lighting and is very spotter friendly. I had a 5 hour delay there once and it was very friendly and comfortable. I was there August 23rd and 26th last year.
I was getting very nervous when u guys didn't post some vids for sometime. Good to see you guys again!
sending love from India :)
Great video! When I was connecting in Charlotte on January first, they upgraded me to premium economy. I really like american. Also uploaded some flight reviews about them 😅
thank You!! This helped me a lot because I am scared of flying on a plane and it looks like the takeoff and everything was smooth!
Hope you enjoyed your short visit to CLT. It's gotten a lot better now that we have a centurion lounge!
hello, in all your air travels have you ever taken a picture with the hostesses / stewards or pilots?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this was when David’s flight to Cincinnati with Southwest got canceled, and so he had to book a last minute ticket through American
Just wanted to throw this out there - Envoy Airlines is a fully owned subsidiary of American Airlines. It was formerly called American Eagle airlines and owned by AA, but was renamed when American came out of bankruptcy after 2011 and decided to franchise out the American Eagle name to other carriers. Coming from a frequent American Eagle flier with a home base at Chicago O’Hare!
Since I started college, I've been doing routes just like this between Monterey and Phoenix, multiple times a year. Only takes ~90 mins either direction, but nice while it lasts.
Love these aircraft !! Best in flight entertainment...looking out the window !! Great trip as always David and I trust you are safe and well during these troubling times !! Thanks again mate !! Upon arrivalI was wondering if the airport was operating with a skeleton staff ??( Sorry a very bad pun !!)
Thanks for visiting my city! Cincinnati will always be happy to receive you!!
Sehr schöner Tripreport! Daumen hoch :D
An awesome review as usual. I was reading about the ticket price: quite expensive to be a domestic regional flight. You can nearly purchase a EU ti USA light fare ticket in off-season. Greetings and thanks for keeping to post your archive interesting TR even in this time!
The Next Flight Reason being he booked this last minute. Check out his brutally honest review on Southwest. It explains why
Hi, not sure if anyone noticed or commented but there's a spelling mistake @ 6:32, eight-hout, im thinking it should be eight-hour?
I transited through Charlotte a couple of months ago and it was nothing like what you're showing in this video. Amazing how much changes in a year...
I flew for PSA from 04-08! I’ve flown that specific aircraft! I was based in Charlotte! Great airport, very cool city!
That's so cool! I love that jet!
8:52 wow those storm clouds look mean.
"Have A Great Day Ya'll"
Absolutely brillant report!
i like your channel. Very straight forward.
So do they all use the AA code for their flight tickets? Or do American Eagle have a different IATA code?
One of my favorite planes in FSX!
So cool seeing you guys fly to Cincinnati, the closest major airport to me!
I love this perfectly American Eagle's Bombardier CRJ700 from Charlotte to Cincinnati
Embraer E175 are better regional planes than Bombardier CRJ. The overheads are bigger and fit carry-ons. But yeah, pretty standard regional flight here.
This is A Really Good Vid
Nothing better than seeing u fly out from my home
Dam that was good thumbnail shot, another American Airlines Plane Departing In The Background.
NERD GMING polo looks like it’s landing
NERD GMING polo looks like it’s landing
Bloxy Builds u don’t have to say that two times lmao
American Eagle , the name itself is stylish , Love travelling through air 😀😀
Interesting experience onboard the CRJ700 David!
Nostalgic. Funny thing is i've often been in more comfortable seating on American Eagle RJ's than on American's A320's
If you can score the front row of economy, you’re fine
Also CVG is a really dead airport since delta left them like ten years ago
Commercially dead but the airport is full of cargo planes non stop
Wow; I like the new wide camera!
took me a while to notice this but the guy at the piano was playing the song from Fenway Park Sweet Caroline. :) im a big red sox fan so i know how it goes either with the lyrics or without.
What is the name of the red drink that you had on the airplane.
Beautiful crj
Those good old days where we can go everywhere we want
Amazing report!!!
Just rode on a CRJ and I have to say I think the seats are comfier then on the 737/E145. Does have dramatically less headroom though!
Great video David! We know you have nice shoes but point the camera forward instead of downwards cause it's good to see the cabin view whilst boarding/deboarding.
Jonathan Reid if he films someone who doesn’t want to be on camera they could sue him. And this is America after all
@@tomstravels520 not true. You can record anything and anyone in public.
@@rodneyhurst2901 yeah for private use. As soon as you publish on the internet where anyone can look at it then that’s different.
@@tomstravels520 thats not true my friend. But we can agree to disagree.
Nice and informative video. Thanks for sharing.
Yes I did enjoyed that video I wish I could travel again but I can't because of the lockdown.
me too :(
chromebomb same
Wow I’ve been on that exact plane!
I love the American accent. Great trip report David.
I love planes ✈️ so much!
I just don’t know why..
Haha!
Awesome video!
Enjoyable video man :)
Great report. Nice to a regional jet. Don’t get many CRJ’s in the UK.
I love the videos but I have one recommendation. Please film more of the airport experience in the future, after this pandemic. Thanks!
Same exact registration and aircraft. I flew this bird from Atlanta to Chicago O'Hare
Amazing
¿El aeropuerto está en Kentuky?
You should give the first class cabin a try. It's surprisingly good for a regional jet.
Fun fact: PSA airlines was called Pacific Southwest Airlines aka “the friendliest airline” as it was known for having a smile on one or a few of their aircrafts. When American Airlines emerged, PSA could not compete with the ever growing airline and had to merge with US Airways but now PSA is a part of American Airlines since the merge with US Airways.
Awsome videos best fan 😍
So on the free entertainment wifi, it won't be turned on until you pass 10,000 feet. And then you have to copy and paste link in your browser. Then it works pretty decent.
Is it just me or i thought it was Cincinatti in Ohio! Hahaha. Thanks for another tripreport! :)
Kevin John Laganao Cincinnati is in Ohio, but the airport is just over the state line and is actually in Kentucky 😀
@@julianlayton733 Confusing LOL!
@@julianlayton733 Wow i did not know this. Thank you! Learned something new. :)
Nice
I hope everything would be back to normal again and we can travel as normal again soon.
I’ll be flying one of these next week what drink did you order that looked absolutely fantastic
Aye, CVG. I used to spot and live right near there. I’ve always wondered.. is Felix your brother?
I have a love-hate relationship with Charlotte-Douglas. I love to fly, but hate that airport. I often flew on American Eagle to CLT, from Philly and Ashville. You're lucky you got to board from a jetbridge of sorts. Usually you have to hoof it across the concrete ramp, and up and down plane ladders, more often than not in the rain.
The CRJs although they have a narrow cabin, they still give a decent legroom and are fearsome little rockets on takeoff..And admittedly the CRJ900 is the best of them all..I've flown SAS and LH on CRJ on 2h trips and they were fine..I think for longer flights an Ejet or A221 with their wide cabin is much more comfy, 'cause US airlines use their regional jets on long flights compared to european ones
Piedmont,Republic and Psa where ones major carrier in the US
Nice video, thank you!!!!!
Hell yeah
One note there is a vlog on this video too! It’s the Southwest Airlines vlog
first! btw like your content :D
SwissFox101 sorry 4th
Also I took.a.flight to Dayton the same day.😀
Sir, What's the current aviation situation in the world
Your back :)
a American eagle very good company
So cool video👍😎❤️
This aircraft engine sound is quite weak
Because the cabin's soundproofing is really good.
And also that the video was taken in front of the wings on an aircraft with rear mounted engines.
Nice tripreport
Them CRJ-700s are cool
2020 is the most savage year to happen :/
Oh wow, small world. I was just in this plane the other day. It's currently in storage with the company I work for. This video is the first result when you search "CRJ 700" on youtube
I’ve been on that plane before to Palm Springs it was okay 👌
There is no need to test
David and Felix are the best
Yay I live in Charlotte
💜
An uneventful flight is good. "Events" when flying are rarely pleasant. For an hourlong trip, a complementary drink might be expected but the snack was an extra. American Eagle did their job well.
Is this video old cozz there is Corona
👍 great video
Very nice video 👏👏
The CRJ's are the hotrod of aircraft, similiar to BRP products made by the same company.
