I won't jump all over this team when they are down. I've stopped commenting for about five games now because the team had a bounce then it became clear we are still predictable, pedantic, slow, plodding and uncreative. All that was evident two legs against Porto. I'm done. Man and club has summer to fix it. Said early season Odigaard needed a backup because this team wins o and looses on his show up. No blame. Nobody is on twenty four seven. Its an unrealistic expectation. Where else is creativity coming from? You had to activate SR or RN during the season. You have to find another and another ace - yes Trousard, find another and another and another because intimately you are only as effective/dangerous as the weapons you have on tap.

Saka was not in the game ,so from the 60munites, he should have switched to 4.4.2, brought on Partey and take of Saka, and managed the till at least 90 or extr time , because we could see they were clearly dominating us .

Game was lost in the first leg. The first time in the champions league for a while. I was happy up until sloppy goal conceaded. Saka gets the ball and he has half the the team closing him down that’s where we didn’t capitalise. Am I the only arsenal fan who was happy with the way we worried them. It’s easy to say after we’re we went wrong but I was happy until conceded goal. I’m happy with arteta he is learning on the job but he is fantastic we all need to get behind him and back him more then ever when things are bad. It is painfull but at least we have completed

This summer we need a top striker, as we had some good chances but couldn’t put even one goal away in two games is poor when you’re fighting for titles.
Good analysis (in emotional circumstances). I thought Jorghino and Martinelli were our best options to make something happen. Its strange that Arteta made those calls. Still, this is a good team, this was not an awful performance, but those sloppy goals at the Emirates punished us.
Why did Kai Havertz played 90 min? He barely touched the ball and was missing for most period, he didn't scare defenders at all. The same was on the weekend when they played against Astonvilla, Kai was not there. The only player I would keep even if he is tired or not at best level is Martin Odegaard otherwise even Saka should have been substituted. Another thing is it is better to keep midfield players because it helps to controll and distribute the ball. Arteta just missing experience and it might take long time until he wins the league with Arsenal. If Arsenal wants to win trophy they have to bring experienced coach with trophies.
We need a proper winger next season so Saka can hold bench because he's too comfortable in the starting lineup. He can drop stinker after stinker without any consequences

I personally feel that Bukayo Saka is an amazing talent, but refining his game with more resilience and having that killer instinct could really elevate him to world-class status, sometimes he just falls down to the ground so easily it gets annoying most of the time. As of now is he really world class? Very good player but not quite there yet, he's not in the same bracket as Salah, Hazard, or a Bale, who can single-handedly win games and drag their teams on the big occasion each to their own. However, his potential is undeniable. Win or lose, I will still support and love this club no matter what. We go again next year, COYG! 🔴⚪️
Whatever happens the remainder of this season, Arsenal has made progress from last year.
We've shown that we can beat the big teams when we deploy the right tactics and put on a strong mentality. Beating City and Liverpool showed that.

2 seasons in a row, when it has mattered most, and we've had the opportunity to show fight, all we've shown is weak mentality, and the inability to get it done when it matters most. That goes for the manager as well. Questions should really be asked of Arteta now. Doesn't matter what signings we make this summer, next season will end the same way.

We missed to many goal opportunities, which came back to bite. In certain moments we seem disorganized defensively and in our positioning. We were simply out classed by a fine margin
I think the boys are simply exhausted - they were very slow and ponderous which in turn made us predictable and easy to play against - still proud of the boys as, 2 mistakes aside in the first leg, and we'd have gone through to the the semis.
What an exciting match it was: Arsenal versus Bayern Munich! As I anticipated, this game marked the conclusion of Arsenal's Champions League journey this season. Nonetheless, there were several positive takeaways from the match. Arsenal exhibited exceptional play and determination, considering the challenge of facing Bayern. Holding Bayern to just one goal was a commendable achievement.
Reflecting on the second leg, one might wonder what Arteta could have done differently. Both legs saw Kai Havertz underperforming, which led me to believe that deploying Eddy and Jesus upfront could have applied more pressure on Bayern's defence, potentially yielding better results.
Looking ahead, I remain optimistic about Arsenal's future. Arteta may need to make tactical adjustments, trim any underperforming players, and reinforce the team with a quality striker and left-back defender. Saka, who has been tirelessly utilised, deserves some rest, and Arteta should explore alternative options to support him. Similar considerations apply to Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes, who could benefit from additional support.

The lack of passion and desire in the team was evident, losing 50/50s, duals and tracking back when it mattered. We've come a long way but the team needs to do more. Saka has off the pace the last 3 games but we still play him, that's the difference between us and City. City can bring on Doku, Alvarez etc we have no cover. Proud of the team but its the same old same old!

They have evolved from previous seasons when we have been in the champions league
As defensively we are more stronger in Europe than before.
There are positives to take but we should have had a comfortable win in the first leg
The manager wanted this but the team made mistakes resulting in the draw
He had a good game plan for the second leg and we were toe to toe with them in Munich
But even the commentators had said that a lapse in concentration in defence will allow them to sneak a goal in and that is what happened
If they had dealt with that cross then we could have been talking extra time and penalties
But we would have been totally knackered to face wolves on Saturday
We have to get behind the team now and go for the league
4:48 - This, right here, is the crux of the problem, why Havertz does not work in midfield and why he can often look "awful" when playing there. Havertz is a give-and-go player. He does not orchestrate play. He is not a playmaker. What he does is offload the ball into the mid and get ahead of the play to receive.
If you put a player like that in midfield, you have one less midfielder. So unless you account for that in some way - perhaps a playmaker who pivots with Havertz - you are going to suffer as a team. And that is why we always look disjointed and ineffective when Havertz plays in the mid.

biggest mistake was to throw on strikers when the biggest issue was actually creating opportunities. We needed to bring on ESR or Partey to try and provide a better service to whoever was up front
Everyone knew that not signing a clinical striker was going to cost us and it did over and over again !
The game was lost in the first leg through the players' mistakes. We did what could have been done at the Allianz Arena yesterday.
No criticism of Havertz but why can’t he be subbed off for ESR to make the left side more functional? Odegaard doesn’t drop much on left so that side becomes dead if Havertz doesn’t have a great game like he didn’t have yesterday. Martinelli and Saka have become too predictable and teams are figuring out how to choke our wings.

I'm always amazed when people with zero managerial experience - speak with passion about how they know better than a manager who's worked under some of the best and got us to the 1/4 final of the Champions league (going out to one the tournament's most successful clubs.... and 2 points from the best team in England's history.

Why is Martinelli always coming off? Because he lacks end product and his numbers this season are abysmal in comparison to a Saka.
Talented but this is a season we've needed him to take another leap and he hasn't. Let's hope he ups another gear to close out the season!

For once I hear the truth! It’s hard for a whole team to play bad, when they do it’s mentality, it’s management. Arteta sometimes reverts back to his old ways of playing when he believes he is better than he is (no plan B). Until you take the team over the line and win a major title you have to play to the team in front of you not believe that your team can beat anyone with the same style over and over again.
