The scene that brings the tears for me every time, and makes me think about how I'm using my own time here on earth, is the scene a little earlier when all Schindler can think about is, "I could have done more, I could have done more" (he feels he could have saved even more lives if he wasn't so focused on greed and materialism, and realizing the true value of life). Such a powerful performance by Liam Neeson.

@@ebinrockFor me, the other scene that makes me cry is the one where Schindler shows Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley) the titular list. Of the list, Stern whispers, "The list is an absolute good. The list ... is life. All around its margins lies the gulf."
Schindler's face is utterly shattered, the face of a man who has put himself so far beyond the boundaries of his old life that he can't see it any more. All that's left to him is the vow made by every priest who dedicates himself to serving God: "Adsum, Domine." Here I am, Lord. Use me ...

For me, one of the best scenes is the lead up to the end of "The Last of the Mohicans", when Hawkeye, Chingachcook, and Uncas all race across the mountain to save Alice and Cora. The majestic score from Trevor Jones, the sequence of the showdown between Uncas and Magua, the sorrow of Uncas and Alice's death and then their revenge at the hands of Chingachcook. The one sided duel at the end to show the power of a Father's anguish, really makes it so memorable.

The closing scene from "Dangerous Liasons" (Frears,1988) when the Marquise de Merteuil, played cy Glenn Close, ends up alone and seated before her dressing room mirror as she begins the process of removing her makeup.
She maintains a silent, stoic composure in the wake of a massive ego crushing she unexpectedly received moments before by everyone in attendance at an opera house when they booed her out of the theatre.
The Marquise won't even look at her own reflection as she's wiping off the makeup, an act that quickly errodes into aggressive smearing in what can only be described as barely-contained self disgust.
When she finally looks at her reflection, a single tear falls from her eye and runs down her cheek as she chokes back an oncoming rush of emotion, struggling to turn it into a cold, detached smirk. But her attempt is in vain and she succumbs to overwhelming despair, leaving her appearing empty and lost. The scene fades to black and the end credits roll.
It's a tremendously powerful minute and fifteen seconds that is achieved completely through facial expression and physical action, and it gives me chills every time I watch it.

Amazing, isn't it, that some of the most powerful moments in sound films are "silent"? WatchMojo, if you ever do a list of the most powerful moments from the silent film era, I would like to nominate (just off the top of my head):
    1. The ending of City Lights
    2. The cop taking away the kid from Charlie Chaplin in The Kid
    3. Joan of Arc's tear going down in Joan of Arc
    4. The father finally accepting of his son from his deathbed in the original 1927 The Jazz Singer (MUCH more powerful than the Neil Diamond remake). Although widely considered to be the first major "talkie", this scene was silent...and powerful.

I would have put in there the classic car chase from Bullitt. Great action, no dialogue needed. Also, I don't know if I would consider it one of the best examples, but I'm thinking of the scene in Star Wars Ep. III: Revenge of the Sith where Anakin ponders in the Jedi Council Chamber whether to stay or go defend Palpatine, with John Williams' somber music underneath. Technically, we hear voices in Anakin's head as he's thinking out the decision, but it's very faint and not really dialogue per se. It's a blessing, because it's one of the few times we actually don't have to hear George Lucas' overexplaining, cheesy dialogue!

The entire chariot race sequence from the 1959 movie Ben Hur. Perfectly choreographed, directed and edited, it keeps you in suspense from the first to the last moment. With wonderful, iconic shots of horses showing their beauty in motion.
The final chase sequence of the three main characters in The Last of the Mohicans, along with the final fight. With the wonderful musical theme of The Gael, simple but so beautiful and touching. Even though not a single word is said, we perfectly feel the characters' feelings, their love, anger, despair and desire for revenge.

Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi has Luke watching a twin sunset as he dies. The last 4 scenes of Star Wars episode 3 the 2 children go to their respective new homes, Yoda arrives on Dagoba, and Vader and the Emperor watch the construction of the Death Star. The last scene of Contact shows Ellie listening to the radio telescope as she watches the stars. Finally the last scene of Jurassic Park everyone is flying away on a helicopter as the birds are flying past the window. The same scene is repeated in another movie but this time with pterodactyls. I liked the island scene in The Black Stallion where the boy pretty much just silently bonds with the horse.

I always loved the introduction to Otis and Lex Luthor sequence in Superman. I think there is a tiny bit of dialog but not from Otis or Lex Luthor.

No dialogue in the entire movie but lots of meaning being conveyed.

Well, yes, in this video I have seen greater scenes, than the one I was thinking of : 8 & 1/2 the first sequence (the one recreated in Falling Down) but still quite relevant.

Better to have made your point by NOT TALKING over the great scenes WITHOUT DIALOGUE. Re-edit. Do your text, which is good, BEFORE the scenes, over some stills or something. Then let us enjoy the great scenes WITHOUT DIALOGUE without YOUR dialogue.
