Love your honesty , sincerity and integrity of your content. Keep up the good work.
I did try these and couldn't fault them to be honest. I've stumbled across a set of Callaway fusion wide sole and they are phenomenal. Traditional lofts, bulky , forgiving and feel amazing.$1200 at launch. Bought them for £100 and Regripped them. Really excited for 2024.
The fusions were so expensive when they came out! Good buy at that price mate 🙌
@@SASGolf thanks Simon. Last few years I've had a massive loss of confidence. I'm really striking these well. Hoping to get back into the 70's again after 2 years of low to mid 80's. Just goes to show, new technology in irons isn't all it's cracked up to be 👍
I picked up some Ping Zing 2s for £60 and although donkeys years old, they’re still fab!
Good thing with Ping is that you can buy your colour code.
Just replace the grips and you have a bargain!
Just because it’s not the latest thing, doesn’t mean that they’re no good!!
I'm actually selling my Calley at the moment I upgraded to Wilson D9!forged mainly because the stopping on the greens . But I was a 24 handicap when I bought the Calley got my first hole in one with them . For the money they are great value and also the service you get is fantastic . Just a shame they don't hold their price
Great video! You make so many good points and explain it so that the average golfer understands. Thanks for making this video 🙂
Great video, as always.
I got fitted summer 2022 and used the data to custom build some Haywood Signature irons. Played those up until Thanksgiving 2023 when I stumbled upon a used set of Titleist AP1’s in almost the exact same specs!
I’ll probably never sell these Haywood’s, they’re fantastic clubs!
I personally started with Stix. Wasn't disappointed with them, they worked great for a brand new beginning golfer. After a year to 2 of playing, I upgraded when I got fitted. Not sure that it was really an upgrade.
Great vid well done. Whist watching it I had a thought. 12 years ago whilst looking to upgrade my irons and after a lot of research and hitting, I went for custom fit KZG forged. Brilliant clubs, creamy and a great club. However as you will know they don’t hold their price. Over the next few years a few mates also got into KZG after trying mine. I still have the clubs but leave them at my Sisters house so I can play without lugging a set of clubs…… I use Muira these days but would love to hear what you would think of a comparison between both OEMs
Subscribed for the honesty.
I bought one of the sets from ebay you were looking at! Just got them in. First round with them tomorrow!
hahaha that fade and draw and "No!!" hahaha cool!
I have a set of Caley irons and I've been very pleased with them, cost me more than £65 a couple of years ago though. Considering changing them out but only for custom fitted as i want to go for a lighter graphite shaft, otherwise would stick with them until they wore out.
Great video ad always 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The only black irons I would ever consider buying would be the Cobra King Forged MB/CB irons from a few years ago, the black color was impregnated into the metal, so they hold up very well.
Best golf i ever played was with old wilson deep reds...if you remember them... admittedly i was 20 years younger as well.
Me too Wilson Fat Shafts...
@@keithblake great clubs.
The deep Red 2 Distance was the most forgiving iron set Wilson ever made to this day
i only buy secondhand irons! as they are cheap i sell them right away if they arent right fit! i know i sould get fit and get some maybe "better tier" irons. But you can find pretty good irons for you, with this method! too bad i live in Finland so the market for second hand clubs is much smaller here!
It’s a great way of doing it! Atleast that way you can try your irons on the course. Lot of people get fit for irons, that work great off a matt and warmed up properly and then wonder why they don’t work on the course!
Get fit, take the specs to golfworks and get a set of Maltbys fit to your specs. Ts1m, TS3, TS4 all as good as any high end band.
Had a set of caleys for a while, when I upgraded they took a while to sell, ended up trading them and a few other things in at my local golf shop for a few new toys for myself. The owner was sat on them for a short while until someone came in, saw them and really wanted to try them and got them at a good price. Need the buyer to know what they are and they'll go, but will be sat on them for a while
Yeah agreed mate, that’s I think the same with a lot of these DTC brands, value for money if you do know though, can’t fault them. 😎
My local 'Cashconvertors' has a set of Callaway xl12 irons with carbon shafts and new grips. They look minted - £79......
I bought these irons as my first set - about 7 months into regularly playing them and i'm considering replacing them. The 9 iron is now completely faded back to silver.
Best golf i ever played was with hogan ptx pros 770 us dollars still have them
I have a set of sub 70 699 pro for £140 off eBay and love them
Bargain that mate. 🙌
honma TR21X irons are the biggest bargain on the used market , everything is made in japan , not China , mexico or Veitnam, and is therefore top quality . A full set of irons with gapper wedge is about 500 blabs .
Yep Ive been getting Honma stuff for very cheap since they are leaving US market. Got a TR21Big LB 3 wood head for $40 new. Love that 3 wood. I also have the 5 and 6 tr21x in my mixed set and think theyre better than the 770s or 790s
@sas Golf What editing software / app are you using ?
Filmora wondershare mate. 👍
@@SASGolf your a top man 👍
They haven’t gone down in price!!just seen them on eBay for £165 😮
The wear on the black finish must devalue them a lot
Look at how many of the big brands ram home the word “technology” in their ads. Spend £300 to £500 over the odds to get yourself 5 more yards.
😂😂😂 you’ve already got them for sale on eBay 😂 just found the listing
Haha typically when I do these videos there thousands of listings, so mine get lost amongst them 😅
It’s why I don’t say about my eBay page in the video, as I don’t try want seem like I’m selling to you guys. 30% off for all subscribers though 😉
Metal doesn’t come in black 😂😂😂😂😂
Can I please buy a concluding sentence every once in awhile thank you
Il work on it. 😉
The big brands aren't better, the tech fallacy is just smoke and mirrors which you always feed into by the back door, saying that a Driver costing £500 is good value at £250 s/h is good value etc. 99% of golfers change their swing about 3x a round , most fitters are useless and have about 10mins experience. The whole industry is a con.
Meh.
Tech has improved the last 40 years. Go hit a Ping Eye 2 and compare to a G430.
Year to year? Not so much.
@@johnryalYou would think the difference is gonna be huge? I would love to see their side by side comparison
@@johnryalthe only thing changed are the stronger lofts none of these clubs has improved handicaps
Ironically... AI smoke and mirrors by Callaway...
Let's be honest, the price of golf clubs is an absolute rip off. The most important part when buying golf clubs is the shaft & the head. Must of been about 20 years ago I I used a £90 set of Pinseeker irons & shot 5 or 6 over gross, I was using Mizuno T-Zoid XV Oversized at the time. I also tested a set of Slazenger CB irons again £90 & they were better than my Callaway X Tours at £500. The reason was the shaft suited me better on both cheaper sets & I could feel the weight of the head.
