More of this kind of design, please!! There are not enough designers on UA-cam doing colorful, maximalist styles! Team AG is my escape from all the neutral, minimalist and/or modern farmhouse vibes that are more *popular*. Fun, ununiform decor with real personality is SO much more entertaining and exciting to watch!
Many people I know have at least a few, but maybe several, pieces that are meaningful but don't fall into some magazine's idea of decor. It's nice to see so many of the owner's items being used, regardless of the "category." Just sayin' 😌...
I was SHOOK by the final result, absolutely gorgeous! My only feedback is that I don't think it's fair to say the coffee table is so inexpensive when you only include the cost of materials, and not the cost of labor. Graham is clearly very talented and has all of the needed skills and tools needed to make the custom pieces. So just saying... yes the materials were cheap but average viewer could not create!
Very true, Heather! I am lucky to have a family member that’s a carpenter and owns a shop - if I had to paid for my one of kind real wood bench - it would have costs me 1,000 bucks. Labor costs isn’t cheap!
@@youaintblack773 No, they have a point. You can’t forget that Graham is very knowledgeable and it took him time to learn how to do these things with ease. It’s a discredit to him to say otherwise.
Wow, Graham is an incredibly talented woodworker & such an asset to the rest of your talented team. This makeover is such my vibe. My apartment is very colorful & Boho, but also spiritual & calming (it's tough to explain:). This was a great makeover, thank you for sharing! xo Edit- who else cried during the reveal? Lol
Exactly. I would have been tempted to paint the contact paper on the top of the wall that mauve color of the wallpaper. I love that you show those of us with stuff don't have to go minimalist and that you mix looks because that is real. I don't have too many friends who has everything white, capusle wardrobes, no hobbies, no collections and perfectly coordinated all same time period furniture. Just saying..
Finally, some maximalism! Love this so much. James style matches my own and I feel like maximalism just isn’t featured on UA-cam design channels that much, so this made me so happy!
Same!!! I also have a maximalist style but am aiming for minimalism with stuff. So a mishmashed colourful but neat style with plants If that makes sense.
Graham is the bomb. The genius. The creator of amazing pieces and solutions. When watching the Graham Cam you can see all the laborious and skillful steps taken to create the incredible works of his inspired hands. Thak you, Graham, for the difference you make in people's lives and for being such a great team player. ❤
Holy woodworking skills, Batman! Graham is the unsung hero of this story. Love seeing how personalized your makeovers can become with such a capable carpenter on your team! Well done to all involved!
I really hope that you guys always remain as close & down to earth as you are right now. The world really needs more genuinely kind people like you all. That wallpaper was worth all the effort, and I love the table that Graham made. That couch, and James' legs, made my day, lol. An awesome makeover!!!
I really appreciate the honesty about what happened with the wallpaper. Not everything happens always exactly as we picture them in our minds and that’s fine! Being a professional doesn’t mean not making mistakes and being perfect, but rather being quick to solve whatever issues may come at any point. Good for Alexandra and the AG Team!
Absolutely my favorite episode ever. There was drama, suspense, comedy, all of it... When James said that he was inspired by Florence Welch's home, I knew this was going to be great. Graham WAS the MVP of the episode, with all his wood wizardry. James's apartment was already so cute, but you guys made it in-cre-di-ble! My only thing is that I really thought you were going to put in a little shelf where the wallpaper cuts off, but then you didn't. I'm guessing that you weren't allowed to drill, of course, but I just kept thinking that a little floating shelf would have been the best. But other than that, this was so beautiful and so characterful, that I'm jealous. I want to live in Montreal, and be friends with James and live in his beautiful new living room/dining room/office.
Ok I’ve been feeling this for a while now, but at the end of every makeover I really crave an unedited version of the reaction. I think it’s really smart how you guys cut in select audio while the nice tour happens, but I really wanna hear the back and forth interaction, Alexandra showing and telling what was done, etc. It’s what I wait for all episode so I think you can dedicate more time in the vid to showing it! just a thought! :)
This makeover really hit all the bullet points and the space looks so bright and eclectic! Finding zones for all the uses while making the room feel spacious and filling it with all James' collectibles without having it feel cluttered ...what sorcery is this!?! Graham transformed that table and his builds were impeccable as usual. Masterfully done, Team AG; kudos to you all.
I am a minimalist at heart, but I really loved this ❤ I have to say Graham is sooooo good at what he does. It's so fun that he is part of this team. I love your work. Greetings from Chile 😇
This makeover was so fitting for both James and the space! Can't believe you went through that whole fiasco with the wallpaper, then found a really good solution with the halfsies and the architectural detail, but then didn't mention the pure genius final touch of the textural piece and the art on the wall; the way the weaved piece is placed over both the wall paper and the paint is perfection.
I want you to know that I am in tears. James is such a unique young person and you Get Him. It's FANTASTIC. !!! I enjoyed his room makeover and even his nook in the office. But This? This is grown-up funky living in its finest. Team AG has rocked it. Graham is so SO Creative. And Alexander....you have one awesome decor eye. Great job
i love the idea of taking the cabinet doors off the hutch for an instant built-in bookshelf feeling. the space feels so much bigger (and more vibrant) than when you began! and james is such a sweetheart.
This room was made into a home with so much love! You are all the best and the light shines with all of you and what you did for this amazing young human! I would live here in a heartbeat! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! James was blown away! I'm so happy for him!
Absolutely LOVED this makeover. There was so much heart and whimsy. It came together beautifully. I love it when you make up spaces of people close to you. 🥰
I cried too, how gorgeous, especially as he will never feel too alone, surrounded by the beauty and creativity and care of his friends and team.😍🤩 Just beautiful, personal makeover.
OMG!! I cried happy tears at James’ reaction! I’m so happy for him and I love the idea of the sofa as a reminder of Team A.G. Hopefully James will give us his take on the rainbow window treatment and add some photos as well. But my biggest shout out belongs to GRAHAM! From finding the dining table and refinishing it, to the pretty mirror frame, and my favorite…those sexy avant-garde coffee table legs! Somebody called what he did a…“GRAHAM SLAM” and it’s so true!👍🏾Great job to you also Alexandra for being the mastermind behind it all. Can’t wait to see your next video.
This genuinely might be my favorite room you've ever done! Love all the color and I think you played up the maximalism while still giving the eye time to rest. Always love seeing James in a vid:)
A Graham Slam this episode! :) Fantastic job and I loved seeing all the process, thank you for including the struggles. Beautiful job, such a wonderful space for such a wonderful person. And a longer episode as an added treat!
I've been watching for years and never commented before but THIS is definitely comment-worthy. I'm not sure what I love more....the make-over, darling James, or your wonderful friendships. Well done Team AG. That was truly a joy to watch.
Such a great makeover and this apartment is typical Montreal architecture!! Although I always like to mention: What a lot of people outside of Quebec don't know tho is that we've been through a huge housing crisis in the past years and rent has skyrocketed immensely, as well as people being illegally evicted by what we call here "renovictions", which is landlords kicking out tenants that pay cheap and affordable rent just so they can sneakily up the rent by 300$-500$ for new tenants for people from outside the country/the province :( still alot of people from more expensive cities move to Montreal thinking it's so affordable even now but I think it's important they know that rent was under 1k 3 or 4 years ago!!
@@emlevy5792 oh that I noticed, yes! It's just also that Montreal has a reputation across Canada to be the cheapest biggest city to live in, but for native Montrealers, it just isn't true. Most of my friends are terrified to move out because everything is overpriced and not matching the cost of life. To an outsider tho, it still seems cheap because big cities in Canada, especially Toronto, have been going to shit since a long time ago.
OMG IM SHOOK. this is my first video I’ve seen by you, it was randomly recommended. I was apprehensive when I saw it was 46 minutes but OMG! YES!!! This is how you DIY without everything looking cheap. This was my favourite room makeover, and I watch ALOT of room makeovers. Omg I’m so inlove with this. So jealous this isn’t my house lmao
You guys killed it with the half wallpaper look honestly what a great fix and looks intentional! The little James caricature on top of the half wall above his workspace is such a cute idea! I’m obsessed with this one! Definitely one of my faves! Also graham making custom furniture look easy is insane! Y’all rocked this!
Oh my gosh, one of your best! You can clearly see the love that went into this one; all the DIYs from Graham, the way the decor fits James to a tee :,) warms ‘me heart! Great work!
I'm probably so far down on this thread that you won't even see it, but in the future, just get a peel and stick wallpaper that is super neutral and then adhere the regular wallpaper onto that. Pro tip: wait a full 24 hours before you put the wallpaper paper on and don't use as much glue. Yes, use enough, but just a little bit less than what you would if you were hanging regular wallpaper. It works. Did this in one of my apts because I couldn't find a peel and stick I liked. I put up one that I had "settled on" and then decided I didn't like it, but wasn't going to take it down because I was lazy. Then I went with the one that I did like a couple of days later and decided to just put it on over the peel and stick wallpaper. That thing stayed on that wall for THREE years... And although it wasn't "damage free", it wasn't anything a fresh coat of paint didn't solve.
I am a bit of an “old money aesthetic maximalist” nerd, and I just love James, so I have viewed this video literally dozens of times!!! It just makes my nerdy little diy heart happy, happy, happy!!! 💜💜💜
This is my new favorite makeover...not just from Team AG, but from everyone everywhere. There isn't anything that I don't like about it, but I'm torn between the sofa and the mirror and the bookshelves and the workspace and the gallery wall...oh well, ALL of it! Graham truly was the MVP, but you all worked so hard. I hope that you went out together afterwards for drinks and dinner before heading home.
I love watching Graham construct his pieces. He is so talented, and has such great problem solving skills! Someday, it would be wonderful to see a real time video of his process. Thank you!
This indeed looks incredible! I love the style you went for, I'll have to stalk James's PInterest now! Damn, Graham did an amazing job again; and dat table!! Congrats on finding a solution about the wallpaper and sharing the whole process
You will have to go back to do his kitchen and bedroom, yay for us, hehe. I would have given up on the wallpaper and just painted that design on. Loved the reveal, great job.
Oh yesssss this is perfect!!!! The apartment is absolutely exquisite!!! The windows, the floors, stunning. The eclectic vibe of this makeover really hit the spot for me. Also, Graham is amazing! From the perfect table on the side of the road to wearing the team AG outfit, he totally is the MVP for this episode!!! You guys are the coolest
Awww this was so heart-warming! You guys have the cutest little team ever. I'd say James was for sure sad moving further away so sweet of you all to show him such love!😭 Also, I am so jelly of his living room, I need it!🥰
Been watching you for years and I have to say this is your best one ever!!! And James is so deserving, so that just makes it even more special. Congrats to all of you.
I loved James's reaction and everything in this makeover. I think we need to see makeovers for James's kitchen, bathroom, entryway, etc. We just need more James!!!!
I randomly found this channel last week and have binged (more than) a few videos. I have fallen in love with your team and James’ editing style but didn’t come across this one until now and just - ugh I want to be his best friend. This was lovely and heartwarming and such a fun look! 🥰
James swearing then realizing he's just making more work for himself to edit things out was so funny. Graham is worth his weight in gold, I swear. Let's be honest, that coffee table DYI is $20+ the cost of Graham's labour, which is fast becoming priceless. I feel like the makeovers have really gone to another level now that you have a dedicated person to create custom pieces for the spaces. And the room really does look incredible, the open cupboard with the books and the records below looks so good.
The table really cost $20! A neighbour was throwing out the wood and the coffee table glass was $20! But yes…, labour and time is always an issue with DIYs!!!
Graham is an absolutely unbelievable artist! I am so impressed with his abilities. The only negative I see with your channel is I don’t see any comments to your subscribers.
Love this makeover! You can also use painter's tape in vertical lines the length of the wall applied the width of the wallpaper. Double it up side by side where the seam will be. Then apply double sided clear tape and hang the wall paper pulling the tape off as you smooth down the wallpaper. The coffee table looks so cool 😍
So I'm only a few min in, and I just need to comment how special it is you are doing this for James. You two have a great connection, and it's clear how appreciative he's going to be. I cant wait to watch the rest, and your hair looks amazing.
Hey Alexandra and team AG! Wow, another great and successful makeover you've pulled off. I'm always blown away by your creativity and ability to totally transform a space and breathe new life into it. The transformation looks amazing!! Very very nice!! Love it. Those 3M Velcro strips did not work for me. After a month all the frames fell down and the Velcro strips pulled big chunks off my plaster walls. What a flipping mess!! LOL
Rents are getting pretty crazy here in Montréal too unfortunately 😭 So glad you enjoyed your little visit to my city! Welcome James, you’ll have a great time here!!
grahm is over here living his best life honestly. I feel like it's not even fair to call what he makes DIY anymore, they really give more of a full-on custom-piece vibe. He makes such beautiful things it's impressive.
Wow. Simply STUNNING! This is not my style at all so I didn’t think I’d like it but I love your videos and had to give it a watch anyways and I’m so glad I did. This looks absolutely incredible. You all are amazing! The character and personality really shines through in this room but it’s also so well put together and ties together beautifully and there’s a lot going on and yet it doesn’t feel chaotic or cluttered or overwhelming at all which I was so surprised by. Simply beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite makeovers yet.
I adore James' reaction. It. Was. Priceless. Can't blame him for a tear or two. If it was my space I'd be blubbering, straight up sobbing with joy. I LOVE the maximalist/boho vibe. It's so "me" I could live there and be so happy as I'm sure James is thanks to Graham's talen and wizardry. I LOVE how she tells Graham what her vision is and he brings it to life even better than what she wanted. I've finally realized what my style is (and is subject to change), mid-century modern maximalist boho chic! Now to transforming my space with this video as a text book. Thanks for sharing.
Wow ! You guys really made that Space even more interesting and energized by making the eye move in height! Love the result! The little deco touch with the cushions also ! Great and very inspiring result with a lot of personality in it !
I've been binge-watching all your episodes ever since I had the blessing of finding your channel! BIG shout-out to you and your team for the mad skills you bring to everything you do. Honestly, this episode brought tears to my eyes-the emotion, James' heartfelt excitement, and your contagious laughter… it was pure magic! This has been the best one so far. FANTASTIC teamwork in creating this amazing space!🥰
OMG! what a beautiful space that James found, and you made it over so gorgeous, I am really loving the vibe that it is giving off now, I love seeing all of his books and his records, and that beautiful table is so beautiful, Graham is so amazing he is so good at making things and the vibe he has at that is so awesome. Your whole team showing up at James's place was such a great surprise for him and the end result was more than two thumbs up, you are so great at these makeovers Alexandra, and I just love seeing all of these videos that you post, thanks once again have a great time, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Best makeover yet! Your team's down to earth, "can do" attitude makes me feel like I, too, can feel free to experiment with style in as bold a way as life invites. PLUS the best way to field a naysayer crack is to make it into an art print. Love the "design sandwich". I plan to buy one and hang it in my home. Right out the gate, guests will know I have decided not to take myself too seriously. Design is Fun! 😍
I laughed so hard when that wall paper came off the wall, and James’s reaction made me cry. This was an intense episode, but the final result was beautiful!
I saw a video of yours a couple of weeks ago that I said was my very favorite -- but now I have to say that about this one! It's perfect for him -- and it's such a great place to begin with! Lucky lucky him!

Your bubbly and goofy personality just makes my entire day! 😭💗💖💗
🥰🥰🥰
The MIRROR! The coffee table! Exposing the books! That rug! The whole kit & caboodle!!!! Love it and love you all!
Loved the wavy mirror, gallery wall, chandeliers and that open colourful bookshelves. Super Epic!
I've been following you for years now and I still have no idea where "you can see my light" comes from but I sing it with you guys everytime
I randomly found this channel last week and have binged (more than) a few videos. I have fallen in love with your team and James’ editing style but didn’t come across this one until now and just - ugh I want to be his best friend. This was lovely and heartwarming and such a fun look! 🥰
I love that the team is really a family! What a wonderful surprise for someone so deserving! Congrats James on the new place!!
Re-watched. This is one of my favorites. Love, love, love love, love. Graham is a genius.
I couldn't believe how you took such an eclectic array of items and gave them an intentional look. Well done.
Absolutely love this make over!! James style is so similar to mine and I definitely got a lot of inspiration from this!! Great job team AG!
Your videos always make me smile and put me in a good mood on Saturday mornings after a long week. Hands down the best makeover team on UA-cam! Keep up the amazing work Team AG.

Sending🔥vibes from New Mexico🌶🌵
Graham needs to publish his own book now - he really deserves it!!
Laughing so hard at the part where he opens the door: “We’ve been here 24 hours and she got a tattoo.” 😂
Amazing use of space!!!! He now gas a living room, an office, a music/reading area, dining area. Stunning objects. This was spectacular!!!
The transformation looks amazing!! Very very nice!! Love it.
Those 3M Velcro strips did not work for me. After a month all the frames fell down and the Velcro strips pulled big chunks off my plaster walls. What a flipping mess!! LOL
All of you worked hard but Graham Is The MVP…!!!!!Thats It…!!!! He is amazing
I couldn’t stop smiling throughout the entire video. Everything was perfect 🤩 the vibes, the decore, the team spirit. Beautiful 💜
Wow ! You guys really made that Space even more interesting and energized by making the eye move in height! Love the result! The little deco touch with the cushions also ! Great and very inspiring result with a lot of personality in it !
Loving the honesty about the wallpaper and seeing the process of trying to make it work!
My favorite of all you've done thus far. Just because you have a small space doesn't mean you can't show off the many things you love to collect.
When James opens the door- OH MY GOD. Literally smiled so hard my cheeks hurt. Couldn't even control it 😂
I've been binge-watching all your episodes ever since I had the blessing of finding your channel!
This is alllll the things that are good and lovely in the world. The ppl, the makeover, the DIY-ness. Thank you for sharing this!
I just LOVE this!! You gave James a Home!! Cozy, classy and sassy just like him. Great job!! I love the sofa!
I love how you are curating your home space by space. The warm colours flow so beautifully
James is so talented and he deserves every bit of the beauty you all created for him. Wow!
Sending so much love Alexandra! You are an inspiration to me and I can’t wait to use your ideas in my own home one day! 💗💖💓💖💗💓💖
yes yes yes indeedy. a happy team is a creative team is a productive team. that's what makes this channel different from all others.
The stained glass and all of the beautiful accents in his space, I am deceased! lol
I just love your team and how they care about each other! Those pink jumpsuits were priceless!
That coffee table is AMAZING. Congrats on the carpentry! I’m SO impressed.
