Based off one of your other videos, I just recently detailed the wiper bay, then painted the firewall and this bulkhead lip on my ‘80 that I’m restoring. Used Eastwood underhood matte on the lip which turned out excellent with the perfect sheen. I then used the Eastwood underhood black low gloss on hood latch hardware and wiper arms. Again, perfect sheen, and coverage.
always love your good prep and attention to detail... you really need to invest in even a Harbor Freight compressor (even a small one). Maybe they will sponsor you! ;-)
Turned out just fine ! Your Eastwood Can may have "Spattered" from not clearing your nozzle by spraying upside down after last use? Maybe not ! Car is beautiful and your masking, towels ect. Was well done. Brovo Brother. Sharp Car. Worked for Chevrolet Dealer in Miamisburg Oh. And was just a "lot Boy" at 17 years old in a Shool program called DECA, Whear I Shooled til noon and Worked at Dealer til close. Anyway got to check in Cars one day in 76 and there was a Burgandy 4 speed vette that I fell in love with. Saddle ( tan) interior. Had to take for short spin. Mom wouldn't go for it. Ha ! Got Orange Shortbed Step side instead. The Vette was $9'600. 00 ! Times have changed huh ? 69 Big Block coming soon . Only waited 49 years...
Very, very, nice. Considering you've made improvements on your Vette as a novice, I must give you props on doing very good work. Great attention to detail. 👍😊
I feel your pain with the Eastwood paint! Love there products BUT the problem you had happens often with there spray paint cans. I have called them to complain about this and they say you must use the product within 90 days of purchasing it, if it happens within the 90 days they will send you another can. Funny how a hardware store can of paint for anything has no issues but I guess it’s something in their paint that causes this? Nice job on the car! Thanks for sharing
Yeah that was a strange occurrence. Had never happened before. But I’m guilty of keeping way too many chemicals in the garage where temps exceed 100° in the summer months then dip into the 30s during winter. Oh well. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
That paint splatter stinks, sorry that happened. I always test spray a piece of cardboard before painting my piece to clear the nozzle. End product looks fantastic! Great job.
I was wondering who was going to notice that first. Lol 😆. Truth be told, this video is one of the many I shot before I even got the 81, and I thought it was informative enough to be published approx two years late. 🤷🏻♂️
This was a great video thanks Luis lotta great tips in this one (learned a new masking technique thank you). I have my bay all prepped and ready for paint but wasn’t sure what to use. I saw the bed liner on the 81 and was going to do that but I prefer whatever that is you have on the 76 that looks great. What did you use on the bay itself? I love that finish. Thanks
I just finished my wiper bay. Took me all winter but it came out incredible. Too bad we can’t post pictures here but I went with satin black and then polished all the aluminum parts until they look like chrome. Thanks for the inspiration I’d been wanting to do it since I saw your video last year

Your saving $$$$,and recycling, looks like it came from the factory floor ❤
Thanks. Details like that make a huge difference and they’re fairly easy to do. 😊👍🏻
Looks great! They were not detail painted that well from the factory......so it is a major improvement.
Thank you! 😊👍🏻

A 69 Big Block should make up for the long wait time. Enjoy it! 😊👍🏻

I’m not seeing the 81 off to the side. Is it gone already?
I was wondering who was going to notice that first. Lol 😆. Truth be told, this video is one of the many I shot before I even got the 81, and I thought it was informative enough to be published approx two years late. 🤷🏻♂️
That was going to be my second guess 😝

Thanks. I used bed-liner spray as well. www.76vette.com/2015/12/restoring-wiper-bay-area.html
