  • The Abarth 124 Spider is a hot little two seater sports car that is rare, unique and adds Italian flair to an already sorted sports car design, the Mazda Miata/MX5.
    Abarth boost the 1.4 litre powerplant with an awesome little Garrett turbocharger that gives a great little chassis the power punch that is well and truly needed.
    Thank you to Abarth UK for providing the car and Devoted Media for help on the day with filmmaking and photography!

    What about a video on eco driving/hypermiling in the tutorial format? Would help a lot of people, mostly me and my heavy right foot

    Great cars, but for the price of one of these you can buy a mk1 and heavily modify it and have so much more fun and more power😉👌🏻 Not biased at all 😂

      I had an S-Ltd customised NA for 8 years. Great little cars, but they are not in the same league as a new 124 Spider. Everything about it is in a different league, especially the interior.

      CATALYTIC AUTOSPORT I agree, like the Jag F Type V8 is spoiled by the continuous bangs and pops, I want to hear it growl, not fart.

      Michael _Howto i quite like the f-type. The pops and crackles do have a tone to them. VAG 4 pots just sound like a ruler along a staircase

      JayEmm on Cars love to see a review of that. I’m thinking about going N/A with the ND and getting the super 200 package instead of turboing it. Previously had it remapped and changed the springs, was surprised how much better it felt just from that.

    You should invest in a drone for better camera shots, you can also set them to follow u as u drive

    Love the Abarth 124, however £30,000 seems too steep. I’d definitely buy an M240i over this.

    No for America. We do get Abarth but no red lip or mirror caps, no Monza exhaust, Abarths are very bland and boring here. At least we get the heritage stripe as an option but they are *very* rare to find.

  • @bad001bd
    @bad001bd 6 років тому

    Just... No. The MX5 is better car because it's not fiat/chrysler (who are literally known for pretty bad cars overall) and NA > FI because the linear torque curve will feel far better than that of a Turbo (imo). Plus, NA power is more consistent, leading to better lap times. It's basically an ND missing the point of being an ND.

    • @mamba109
      @mamba109 6 років тому +1

      BAD Ben You do realize the Fiat 124 Spider is made in Hiroshima, Japan, literally in the same factory as the ND Miata lmao. And I love the feel of turbo lag, again that's just preference. I always feel like I'm in Star Trek, the engine whines up and you go warp speed. That being said I'll probably still get the Miata, the right 124 Spider is rare to find in the US.

    • @bad001bd
      @bad001bd 6 років тому

      The engine is still Fiat/chrysler. That's mainly what I was referring to when fiat/chrysler is known to make pretty bad cars overall. Hey! if you like turbo lag, more power to yah, but if you want faster lap times, an NA car will beat out an FI car simply because it's far more consistent (assuming all other variable are kept equal). Also, half the fun for a miata (at least for me) is that amazing engine feel at any RPM (linear torque curve), so that's why I feel the ND is a better car than the 124 Abarth. Thanks for the reply! I was not aware the cars are built in the same factory.

    • @ilpatongi
      @ilpatongi 3 роки тому

      @@bad001bd I know this is an old comment, but I had to inform you that if you wanted to achieve better lap times, this was better than the 160HP Miata by a mile, it was much quicker and less numb in corners, everyone said the same about it.
      Even the ND2 with the 184HP power output is neck and neck with the Abarth.
      Regarding the reliability, the MultiAir engine is one of the most reliable engines you can find since it's based on the F.I.R.E and it's built in italy, or at least it was, no problem in that regard. Furthermore, it can easily be tuned and modified to achieve insane amounts of power thanks to the forged internals and it can be mapped to have an almost NA-like torque curve, really a great engine, economical too.
      The choice literally comes down to looks.
