It was my dream car for 3 years. I finally bought one in August and upgraded the exhaust a month later. Loving every minute of it. It's a pleasure.
Got mine 5 months ago. I love everything about it.
Just got one, same color combo as this one, coming from a 2010 boxster that bent a rod.
Its been amazing. The porsche was fun but this car, my God the sound is just amazing

I saw people drove mazda mx5 miata NC And ND. I didn't know what it was but I have been craving my own car since 18. Been driving family beat up car and at age of 31 I bought an abarth
The 124 Abarth is very underrated, put a remap and the EU standard Record Monza exhaust on it and you have a car that will make you smile endlessly
this car is a blast this week we do the suspension but I am more excited for new wheels and better tires stay tuned
We bought one of these two years ago. Just did an exhaust swap from GoodWin Racing. We love this little car

So cool, have to post again.... as a teenager from 1970 on, in addition to the American muscle cars of that era, these small sport cars, MG, Triumph, were everywhere... I think these cars today are so cool... love seeing that!
Change the fluid in the Transmission to royal purple. that will fix the 2nd to 3rd gear issue. also recommend changing to a shift ball from the stock shift knob.

Really intriguing and compelling car. As you mentioned it harkens back to the origins of "sports car" and the fiat name obviously as some history in that era that this evokes. Love the exhaust....just enough to say "this isn’t daddy’s little girls go back to school car". I hope you’re build stays true to and enhances the cars Inherent DNA .
I’ve got one of these rented just now in Lanzarote it’s a fantastic car and lots of fun to drive
Bought my 2017 Abarth brand new. #15K on it without issues. Now has cold air intake, turbo blanket, updated bypass exhaust, and Tork tune. Lot's of fun. Most people take it for an Alpha Romeo, Ferrari, or Lamborghini. Strong but not crazy horsepower. It won't try to kill you (like my old Shelby) but will make you smile!
I have one, fitted the Record Monza exhaust and EC V2 induction, love it ,you get the pops crackles and rumble from exhaust and with the V2 all the turbo woosh and flutter too.
Now put it in Sport mode. It drops the point the turbo kicks in to 2.5K
and tightens the steering.

Want this car myself.. but I'd love an exhaust that can open and close, cause I love good music, and also a rumbling exhaust.

Well, this car can come with ~9 speakers and a built in subwoofer if you go with the bose package. I can tell you right now, this cars exhaust is fucking godly. The videos do not do it justice
@@ErectileSceptile I have the Bose and Monza exhaust on mine. Cruising with the top up on freeway the music sounds great! You can hear music with top down but of course it's not a music listening experience. But at least you can cruise with music in this convertable, unlike many were it just vanishes on the highway. Also the exhaust is loud when pushed under load but gets quiet when cruising. Very easy to have a conversation while driving and not having to talk over the exhaust. If you lay into it, it gets obnoxious.

I fell in love with the Fiat 124 Spider a year ago. I came across a Fiat/Maserati dealer tbat had a great blowout price on a few 2018 Fiat Lusso's because of tbe Pandemic and sales were slow. So I sold my Saturn Sky Redline Turbo. The Lusso I grabbed was sitting in tbe dealers wherehouse for a year and they wanted to move some inventory. So I snatched it up. Do wish I had that Abarth though. Your video got my attention, love your mods on that Abarth. I look forward to your follow up videos to see what else you do. Question, with some of those mods, could I get my Fiat Lusso, which is an automatic with manual override to sound close to what you achieved.? Please reply and summarize what mods you did to get the extra HP and enhance the exhaust to sound so awesome. I take mine along PCH quite a bit with that top down, super fun. I plan on going up to Big Bear soon, can't wait for the drive back down the hill, alot of fun curvy roads.

Herb the one thing I will tell you is that the abarth automatic transmission has sport mode and that is what makes the greatest difference

thats the plan the tires will be pilot super sports we are up in the air on rims now as we want to go wider
I ended up spending more on those pilot super sports than the new wheels themselves. Honestly worth it, I've got mine up to 135 and never felt anything but confidence.
what wheels did you go with and did you go wider than 17X7 and did you stick with the OEM tire sizes? tires on this car will make a HUGE improvement in grip and confidence which the owner totally gets which is why we are doing it ASAP.
I went with some Enkei M52 17x7.5. Tires are 215/45/17. I haven't installed coil overs yet so that's the widest I can run on stock suspension. I also have the EC piggyback ecm. Only 28k more miles until I can put a stuffed turbo and straight pipe it.
What exhaust and Down Pipe did you fit on?
I was encouraged to buy my own last summer cause its a Japanese made.

The 5spd manual from the NA Miata is much better feel than the current 6 speed manual 124 which is from the NC Miata. Definitly needs short shift kit. Can try one from the NC Miata but there are some bell housing differences I'm told. If anyone knows of a true short shift kit for the 2017+ Fiay 124s please advise!! ; )
They used the NC gearbox because it can handle more torque. I dont have a need for a Shirt shifter in this Car. The only thing is that the ratio of the 2nd gear is too long. I dont know any supplier of tuning parts specificly for the 124. But there has to be plenty of fitting parts from the Miata.
I think I like my Record Monza exhaust better. Whereas it does sound cool, that muffler delete would get on my nerves after a while.
Nah it's really not that bad. The turbo acts as a muffler on its own (the Abarth 500s are factory straight piped, for example)
This is making me regret getting the Classica trim instead of Abarth lol
why? it's just some stupid badges costing 1,000's

I've always liked the look of this car and supposedly it handles like a miata. I think fiat is literally killing it. It doesn't sell. Fiat overall isn't doing well in the U.S.
this car drives amazing and Mazda really created such a good platform no wonder Fiat borrowed it. its a shame they do not sell but I see 10000 Fiat 500 in NY daily go figure

never and I am all over the NYC area daily this was the first one I ever saw. def a cool experience and car its so much fun.
Even in Europe they are very rare. Since I bought one in March this year I have only seen three other Abarth 124. The Fiat 124 (140hp) is rare as well.
I’ve seen a couple in Ohio, I’ve seen a couple of the old ones on the road too surprisingly, but there is also have a big garage that specifically works on them, Midwest bayless in Columbus.

yes this car is a bit tight inside but with the top down it actually has great room

this car rides amazing even in our NYC busted roads and even better after we lowered it and installed new wheels and tires, the chassis and suspension is excellent for such a little car.
@@autofanaticcars Okay, I agree for a small car part so please elaborate next time. I've driven this and the MX-5 many times and they are not what I would categorize as having a good ride.
Stop comparing it to the Miata. They are Nothing like each other. And no this car was not made in the mid 2010s it was made in the 1970s
are you insane the Fiat 124 and Miata are the exact same car with different engines FYI they completely shared the platform.
@@autofanaticcars then explain this. The FIAT 124 Spider came out in 1966 and was produced until 1985. The only reason why it was stopped is because of safety restrictions. The car had a 1 star rollover and no airbags. The 124 isn’t like the Porsche 911 which was never discontinued. But my entire argument is, this car has nothing to do with being made off of the Miata. The Miata was made in 1989. Four years after the car was discontinued. So if there was any copying. It was Mazda. As far as the 124 goes, it was once a sedan before it was the spider. I don’t see any sedan version of the Miata. An no they don’t have the same engine. The 124 started with a four speed trans and a 1.4 I-4. By the ‘80s it had a five speed trans with a 2.0 I-4 DOHC W/ fuel injection. And I own that exact model. The Miata might be the most Raced car of all time, but they never sold as many 124s as FIAT during the heat of their sales. They were made for the European market and the American market. They also sold sport models made for rallye, and the 2.0 I-4 DOHC was used by FIAT, Lancia, Abarth And Alfa Romeo. if anything FIAT brought their greatest creation back to life. At the worst time possible. Its sad.

dumb exhaust. it's got less than 170hp. keep it stock and it will last as a road car.
I went and test drove one a week ago because of the endless amounts of high praise videos the fiat gets... I was majorly disappointed and dont trust video reviews at all anymore.
But who knows, maybe all the years of driving Z4's, corvettes, top end Camaro's, and other actually fun/fast vehicles ruined me to cheap trash like this.
