I was about to say that the cutscene held some sort of “deeper” meaning, like how Cipher was just about to land on the runway, and once the camera tries to track the jet, the jet was gone, seeing as it was tied to when the Journalist mentions how in just a few short months Cipher just seemingly phased out of existence, giving the idea of him being this mysterious pilot, a demon that struck fear and admiration to all would just appear one day, turn a losing war into their own playground, then disappear for god-knows how long, never to be seen again. And then this cutscene came along and said “sup” but it’s still damn cool.
It was clearly visible from the start the thing is...it's difficult to see when you use anything other than the falken or the morgan because compared to these 2 the other planes in ACZ are dwarfs
Wow didn't even know he landed. I still like the idea that he disappeared after landing since that's what happened a few months after the war, seems more symbolism that way
I guess with the combination of graphic limitations at the time AND the narration implying that no one knows what happened to him, it made it seem like he just kept flying.
i believe he landed and just went back to normal life after the war, but many people only knew about the legend, the demon lord of the round table, the plane and such, and didn't know much about the man himself who flew it, and will never know, a seperation of the man and the legend
Straight run from Dam attack without failing mission, so I was carrying FAEB - Pixy can be beaten easily with normal msl by fighting entirely with head-ons! Just it could take more time than using QAAMs tho, here's how I get him: ua-cam.com/video/40qJT1cm-_c/v-deo.html
@@alfalanceer17015 Use a fast plane with QAAM or SAAM weapons, then race through the first section entirely focused on getting through without getting shot up. honestly, it'd probably be a bit too on the nose for symbolism if he literally did disappear in the next frame. Still a great story, hope we can get a remaster one day.
I always figured he retired with his money in 1996 and went to live in luxury somewhere. Being that mercenaries are foreign soldiers who serve for pay, he would have been able to leave after the war ended as there was no longer a need for his services
years ago someone argued that I didn't even played game to not know ciper 'disappear' when landing, so I used this as proof. Maybe that player never played long enough to get ADF-01 - I agree it would be hard to see in F-15C on actual PS2.
@@jupiterbjy I really thought he did for the longest time. I actually think it's a huge missed oppurtunity he doesn't. Perhaps you could make the argument he fades into the background, but it would've been more thematically, and metaphorically appropriate had he disappeared.
Of course he landed, but they spent the whole game descibing him as somekind of otherworldly Demon (Even if you follow the knight path) and so they decided to make him disappear in the landing scene to underline his demonic presence and abilities... He went down (or up) to earth, saved the world and then returned to his realm, his mission fulfilled, never to be seen, heard or talked about again!!! And then there is the more humane option: They don't show the rest of the landing because no one knows what happened with him afterwards... The man was betrayed by his best friend, lost two teammates, fought and won what was, in fact, a Nuclear war, so imagine the atrocities he witnessed during that time, hell that was the reason Pixy betrayed him, so of course Cipher retired and disappeared because if he had kept piloting he would have had to kill more and, yes, that would have made him more accomplished than any other AC MC, but, by then he would, in fact be a new Mihaly... So, Demon or not, he and Blaze were the most human of all AC MC's, they retired!!!!
I always thought he landed without a problem. It's just that PS2's resolution was potato and the TVs we used were not high res either. But the narration kinda made you to believe that he disappeared into thin air.
I'm not trying to enforce any idea if he touched down or not - as described in description, the point is: he didn't disappear after cam angle change!
