    Can't wait to use this method on my images. I use SC all the time because of the education you have given me over the past year and a half on color theory. Using both SC and HS is a simple brilliant idea! I hope that some day I will understand Photoshop and color theory well enough to discover some of these simple processes myself. Thank you for being the enthusiastic great teacher that every one needs to advance their skills.

    Hi Blake, Another great video! I especially like the deep dive Into both the HSL and Selective Color adjustment layers and how you can use them together for even better results.

    Thank you so much Blake. Another amazing tutorial and so well timed, it's exactly what I need to do for the colour in a still life image I'm working on.

    Really feel sorry for those few who put their thumbs down to such a gem of information, must have been a severe lack of in-depth understanding of the subject 🤷 Blake, just keep the ball rolling ... your contents are truly outstanding 👍💕

    Thanks for this great video. I had a bit of a "V8" moment realizing I misunderstood the Selective Color tool. Also the comparison of how HSL differs in PS vs Lr and ACR. I suspect, like others, I saw it but it never really registered. It's always nice to be able to make informed choices when picking tools during editing.

      The ps and LR differences are pretty eye opening, but Ps moves pretty fast, lol. As Yoda would say...
      Control control you must learn control!

    Where do you get the color circles that you have on the screen?

    • @f64Academy
      @f64Academy  3 роки тому +1

      They are built into my video editing software, I don't actually see them

      Thanks. I learned a lot from this video and have been going through and reworking some old photos.

    Another thing that selective color is good for is subtle luminosity adjustments independent of any color channel (though it works fine there) - particularly neutrals and whites. Maybe you mentioned this in another video? Anyway, good comparison of HSL and SC and well presented as usual!

      Thanks! Yeah I did cover that in another video that actually uses selective color for better tones. Really cool stuff.

    Very cool video! How will this look when it comes time to print? IF part of the file that has a little extra red, via mixing 3 colors together, will that be able to be printed correctly? Will the printer be able to read the Adobe adjustments to get the color as wanted?
    thank you

      It should, I print my stuff all the time and dont see much of a difference. Prints look good.

    Great stuff!!!! Is the "color dot wheel" and the outer bars (so to speak) available anywhere? Would love to have them to learn with. Your the best!!

    By the way, are you tricking my mind with a wide angle lens on the camera so that your workspace and background looks bigger than it is?

      @@f64Academy Technically that's a garage. LOL Hey using the two together makes a lot of sense. I changed a macro for perceptual color and added the HSL under the Selective Color. Thanks for all you do and share, much appreciated!

      @f64Academy  3 роки тому

      That's a great idea 😁 it very well could be a garage. Actually when we looked at the house the first time before we bought it in 2015 we didn't even see this entire room 🤣 it's kind of a maze to get to, but it's huge 🤣
