Great video. Thanks for sharing. We will be going in about 4 weeks for our 25th wedding anniversary! So excited. Do you remember how long the horseback riding was, How much, and how long did you ride on the beach? Do you recommend early or last timeframe?
Congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary! Costa Rica is such a beautiful destination to mark that special occasion. We did the morning ride and it got hot when we were out by the water. I think it was 3 hours total with 1hour to get out to the spot walking in part through jungle, 45 minutes or so riding along the beach with a pit stop near the ocean, and 1hour back. My wife thought it was going to be more 'beach' than what it was. I liked it. I think we paid $195 for 4 to ride and part of that was a late fee because my son switched his mind and wanted to actually ride. I hope this helps and enjoy your time in CR!
Thank you! I was fascinated by Arenal. It never cleared up completely during our time in La Fortuna but we were in La Fortuna for only 2 days. I would like to spend more time there. LOVE Costa Rica and will return again. Thanks for visiting!
Thanks for the video. I want to visit Costa Rica but cannot decide if I should take a guided tour or rent a car and go on my own. I have a few questions. Since you rented the car did you have any problems finding your way around? I have heard that there are no addresses in Costa Rica so you just have to punch in names of places you want to visit on your GPS? Is this true? Also, was it safe to eat salads and raw vegetables and drink the water there? Do most places take credit cards or do you have to bring lots of cash? Thank you.
Thank you for your comment! We did not have any problems finding our way and the GPS was key. Our only hiccup was heading towards playa Manta where the GPS indicated a road and the road was not paved/smooth entirely. We were nervous about the rental car which turned out fine. All the places we visited had addresses. It is true that some do not have exact house numbers. We enjoyed the flexibility of having our own vehicle for this trip. It should be safe to eat salads and raw vegetables if they are properly cleaned. We drank filtered water mostly and/or bottled water. Most places did take credit cards. I always like having a little cash on me too and try to be smart about not carrying too much anywhere I go. I hope this helps! I definitely think you should go and would love to have you comment sharing with your experience from your trip. All the best. Pure Vida!
It is called Jawara on AirBnB. It is up the hill from and connected to Los Lagos Hotel and Resort. If you stay there you’ll have access to the resort which is very nice. There is a link to it in the description below. Tell Santiago we sent you! Hope this helps. Thanks for visiting!
We went during peak season at Feb/March. I included a link to the airBnB below in the description. The place we stayed at in La Fortuna is called Jawara and the place in Jaco is called Beach Macaw 24. Prices currently listed were similar to what we paid when I just checked. I hope this helps! Thanks for visiting!

I been on 17 holidays, Jamaica was my absolute favourite. Until I went to Costa Rica. CR is definitely my #1 and I cannot wait to go back!
I want to go back too! In the meantime, I’m looking for the next trip and Jamaica is one of the top contenders. Thanks for visiting.

LoL...I noticed that as I walked across the bridge. I think the folks at 7:51 worked at Mistico and were 'fixing it.' 🤣
Hello, did you pay extra insurance for the car?
Hi There, my credit card that I used to book the car included it’s own insurance. I didn’t have to use their insurance.
where is this house you stayed in La fortuna?

Question...How much was the rent on the house?
