I think that the size of the beveler should be at most a third of the thickness of the leather. If you choose a beveler too small the effect is not visible. If you choose a beveler too big you cut a v-shape and you can not round the edge. For example if you have 4mm thick leather I would recommend a beveler of at most 1.3 or 1.5mm.
No. Absolutely not. I am sorry that this is not the answer you wished for. But it would look truly terrible. Do not cheap out. Go for Palosanto bevelers and purchase 2-3 different sizes. My recommendation would be 0, 1 and 2. 0 for card holders, 1 for portfolios etc and 2 for belts in approx 3.0 - 3.5mm thickness.

For a 3.5mm leather desk mat, what beveler would you recommend as first choice and then second choice? Thanks
@@adiands850 Between 1 and 1.3mm.
Makes sense, thanks

You have one of the nicest collections of tools I’ve seen!
Thanks!
I’m looking at Palosanto which sells by mm size (ie 0.4. 0.7). What does you suggest for refined wallets that equates to say 00 and 0? Thanks
hello. where can i get the flat edger??
i am manufacturing 10 mm split leather belts , How can i make them round ?
Hi, I'm new to leather crafting, buying expensive edging equipment is not an option, would sandpaper be enough with a little more efforts?

I think my edger is too concave and too deep that it hardly reach the edge of the leather. Is it because I sharpen it too much?
it could be. or too big size
Is 1mm any good ??
yup it's good!
