- Visited the Harry Bertoia Sonambient Barn and studio today. This is his son, Val, as well as me and some other folks on the tour playing with the various sculptures and gongs.

Love it ❤
so great to see this! In the late 90s my undergrad sculpture studio took a class trip to the barn and the studio and Val gave us the tour. Wonderful experience wish I could do it at least once a year
Antiques roadshow brought me here! How beautiful and yet eccentric! Would love to have one of these in my garden. Really amazing to have so many different ones in the same place all "singing" together at the same time!! What a joy. Also takes me back to dark side of the moon album at the end!
Me too! These are cool but they kind of remind me of the background noise in a horror movie
It's wonderful to hear Harry Bertoia's sound sculpture again;
I used to play it on the air when I had my radio show.
Antique road show brought me here, I like them!!
Me too
Same here! 👌🏽
Me to
AWESOME.
These rods remind me of my short Fender Rhodes tines.
I wish some of my tines would resonate as long as these do.
Wow! That is pure relaxation. Would love to see them in real life.
Thanks for checking it out
Just amazing
the right video at the right place in the right time
Thanks for checking it out
Love these sculptures. I'm going back and listen to the large "thunder" by the door again.
I know this is old, but I am very glad I found your channel.
Your concepts with sound design have helped me immensely add direction to my current project.
You make some next level stuff
Thank you kindly, that is incredibly humbling to hear🍌
@@MuddyPussy thank you for creating and sharing :) your work is amazing
Bertoia’s metal sculptures give me strong audio-visual kicks!

Thanks for sharing. Val seems to be enjoying himself in there. My only firsthand encounter with these sculptures has been at the Aeon Center in Chicago.
Wow Harry was an amazing artist. So inspired.
Raphael: Where does that weird noise come from?
Mona Lisa: Behold! Hear the mighty gongs of the heavens!
Raphael: Wow, these gongs are sure giving me some goosebumps!
Sick! Love it.
+Alphastare Yeah it was a great experience, definitely see it if you ever can. Thanks for watching.
That is on my radar now for sure, gonna check out the other vids.
AWESOME !!!
I'm glad you checked this out. It was a great experience that my video doesn't do justice to.
It's a controlled cacophony of sound!
Hollywood should incorporate this into certain effects...
Great sale at Sotheby's New York today!
So good! I want to lie down in there and have him walk around setting things off for hours on end.
Yeah and this is nothing compared to what it used to be..had over 90 sculptures in there before the lawsuit. I believe he is doing a show in NY soon. Maybe you can convince him to do a show at the Vigeland Mausoleum?
Holy moly. I would lock him in there and never let him leave XD
yes i love that
Glad you liked the video!
Do you want to kill me? Hahaha. Wow super amazing. Reminds me of the original footage of nikola tesla in his lab. ;) thank you for the link here. 👌👌👌
Glad you liked it. It was way better in person as you can imagine.
J'aime infiniment cette alliance musique et sculpture.
Glad you enjoyed this. It was a fun day.

Mon ami, je comprends. Et que la fête ne cesse !
@@claude4268 i hope to get back there someday, it is only about an hour away from my home.
Creo que un sonido similar se debe escuchar al llegar al final del nuestro universo.
that must be insanely loud!
He has his own orchestra..
wow, very cool, wow truly incredible an extraordinary sonic journey, harry bertoia is truly a true genius.new brunette you know pinuccio sciola, he is an artist from sardinia, who created equally incredible sounds with stones.
Glad you found this video and enjoyed it. It was a great experience being there. I'm not familiar with pinuccio sciola but will check him out. Thanks for the tip!
ok,my friend.
Woow🤩
Glad you enjoyed this
Exactly which piece was struck at 1:11 in? It looked like pulling back on giant harp strings near the floor, but it’s in the back left corner, and I can’t see what it is.
I think someone was inspired by clock gong rods.... Sounds like grandfather clocks from hell!!
mmm !!!
The Muddy Pussy screams!
Always 🍌
