    The WEN tools are ones that are REALLY good quality, especially for the price. I got he 10" WEN band saw as it was actually one of the top rated band saws on the market and beat out the likes of Rikon and other name brands. Their midi lathe is also a great tool that has lots of positive reviews.
    Like what your doing, looks awesome and fun. I would like to know how you made the vacuum chambers out of gallon mason jars as well as more about vacuum pumps. Heart different things and that they are kind of high maintenance. In addition to a pressure pot that doesn't require much, if any, work to setup for resin casting. Would like to get into that but have no idea where to start much less how much it will cost.
    Out where I am at we have a lot of wild black cherry growing and there are often burls (got some spare I could share with you if you like). Lots of oak burl in some of the ancient trees I see here but I can't touch those beauties.

      Yeah I like WEN for their price point a lot. I’m used to my 14” G0555P grizzly bandsaw so I’m definitely missing it, but this thing works greats for its size. I got their lathe in the meantime my big tools are stuck in storage too.
      You can buy universal lids from TurnTex.com, that’s what I did years ago. I’ve got lots of videos on stabilizing.
      If you want to resin cast alumilite, you need a pressure pot. Vacuum won’t work for it. They’re not that expensive.
      And the burls would be awesome! Let me know if you have spare I’d love to try some.

      @@CaseyMartin707 I pulled some of that black cherry burl from my small, home made kiln (converted fridge) tonight. How do I get your info to get this to you without blasting personal info across UA-cam?

    I thought that redwood burl was a big steak at first glance. I must be hungry.

    When I stabilized some redwood burl, the wood tinted my SOS 2.0 stabilizing juice red and it didn't cure properly. Hopefully, your cactus juice will perform better.

    Have you tried experimenting with orange highlighter ink I've been doing some experiments with extracting ink from highlighters and that orange is extremely bright it's even reactive to light from a television set when there's a blue screen on it I've made a whole bunch of different colored dragons in this Dragon mold that I've got and I would love to send a couple of those out and see if somebody could cast them in clear resin cut them up into pieces and put them back together make a pin blank see how the pin blank would turn out or the pen

      @@CaseyMartin707 I know, I've seen every single one of your videos :D but haven't really seen any with 3/4 colors. I think you did mention in one of them, that it's more complicated than 2 colors. Unless one color on one side, other color on the other side, and another color in a vacuum. Hmmm that's three... did I just answer my own question? :D :D Love your videos by the way, amazing content.

    Hey Casey big fan and follower is there a reason you like Aluminite clear over alumilight slow. I know is is a different, one is epoxy and one is urethane . Casting both

    • @CaseyMartin707
      @CaseyMartin707  3 роки тому

      Alumilite clear and Alumilite clear slow set are the exact same resins. Both polyurethanes. Only difference is slow set cures much slower. I use Alumilite clear regular set because my castings are done in about 2-2.5 hours, whereas slow set takes a lot longer. Slow set is designed for huge pours and the largest ones I do are still fine for normal set
