When I was a kid I used to hate summer because there was no hockey. My feelings about summer aren't that strong now but I still miss hockey, especially after last season. I know you wanted to take a break, but it still seemed strange to tune in to You Tube and not see your latest update at the top of the list. Nice to have you back!

I like the idea of Kane on LTIR for two reasons. It frees up cap space so he could definitely get to 100% healthy. Also this would let the team to sign new players to replace Kane. Win Win in my books
If you sign players to replace Kane, what do you do with them when he comes off LTIR?
@@steverogers5956 In the playoffs there is no cap , I believe Boston did this first either last year or the year before
@@davidkaliczak9373 if yoou're going to keep Kane on LTIR for the whole season there's no way he's ready to play competitive hockey in the playoffs.
@@steverogers5956 I don't believe that he will be on LTIR for the whole season but will give time for management to sort out the money issues right now. He is much needed because of his play and eventually Jeff will have solutions down the road. Are you following my reasons.

Yeah that contract would be really difficult and the Oilers did trade away his brother, so he may not be too interested in coming to Edmonton
We would be better off keeping Darnell. Seth gets most points on the PP we have bouchard for that. Oilers fans would be screaming about a 9M 30 point defenseman

Not a fan of Broberg, the least experienced D-man, playing his offside all the time. Doesn’t even seem fair to him. Like asking a metric socket to turn an imperial nut - can get the job done ok in some circumstances, but will get stripped eventually. Broberg should replace Kulak otherwise trade him for a true RHD
My thoughts earlier in the year, but he stepped up and played very solid d in the highest of pressure situations..great development year. I think he is a keeper.

i have never liked the idea of having either joshua brown or troy stecher as a defenseman on the 3rd pairing. If the oilers do go that route I would rather have stecher as the 3rd pairing defenseman but that would defiantly need upgrading
Mathew is 27 when his 5 years deal started. Draislte will be 30 at the start of next season. I highly doubt Draistle is looking to have Mathews's contract.

I think the only way Drai signs for 8 years is if he gets 15mil per so the shorter term is more likely, also wouldn't be surprised if Draisaitl signs for like 5 years and Mcdavid signs a 4 extension so their contracts end together and then they can decide together what to do stay in edmonton or leave in the future
Sign Draisatl for about 3 years. His performance level could drop off some. We don't want another long term Nurse type deal.
Draisaitl isn't dropping off in the next 3 years, he's only 28
