    National record in the 800, collegiate record in the 400, 48.38 relay split in the 4x4. I will need to update this list very often in the future because athing is unstoppable!

    She has run every distance well and when asked at ten years old to chose a race to own... Lord anyone who has ever run track and field knows the 800m is brutal, I personally feel the 1600m is actually easier to run... She been breaking records all of her career... She steps into the 2020 Olympics and inspired all... Golden Athing...

      David Taylor the issue is qualifying rounds! Yeah they can all do it, but not go through rounds and do them all at a 3-4 day meet. 1500m and 800m are straight finals, but the 200m and 400m 2-3 rounds against competition

      run Caz yes all. Break down their best times into 100, 200, 400m splits. It’s understood that they were probably going no more than 75% on each split so you can extrapolate faster times than those splits as shorter splits would allow them to go between 76 and 95%.

    Athing Mu is amazing. As a former 800m runner, this so incredible. Maybe a runner will win at 400/800m, or 800/1500m or 200/400m but 400/800/1500, unheard of! I know of few runners that are competitive over that range of events.

    Wise words from a wise coach! I'm sure it is difficult to train someone for so long, yet realize they're destined for greatness and hand them off to the next level of training.

    These USA junior meets are no joke. You're competing against Olympic finalists and medalists like Athing Mu and Erriyon Knighton. Don't worry if you finish 19th or 20th in the USA. You're good. That same time would get you a pro contract anywhere in Europe.

    I hope she goes to university and runs fall cross country. It would be great to see her run the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m Steeplechase at the NCAAs! I see her making the final of the 800m at the Olympics in Tokyo next year.

      I think women athletes have a shorter peak period then men. So she may only have 6 years. It seems long but if you factor in injuries 6 years is not that long.

    In 2021, Athing Mu just won gold twice at the Olympics. Imagine what will happen at some point in her career, years down the line, when she finishes first in the marathon. Maybe she can double in that as well as the 200. If she learns to swim, and the triathlon be next?

    Interesting to know that she didn't do her high school track but she stayed with her club team which of course in my part of the country we don't really have club track teams they have soccer football baseball that kind of thing. She could go from 200 all the way to 1500 I mean that you just that's just so unheard of in track I just think she is amazing and once in a lifetime kind of runner in the essence of like Flo Joe and Carl Lewis you know those icons and she just has an amazing support system which is very important when you get in the spotlight.

    Now she's the greatest runner in the world and a double Olympic champion at age 18. How about that? Looks like these coaches managed her development correctly because she is still improving. Most athletes who are winning everything and breaking all the records at age 9 or 10 are not the best when they become seniors. Mu has overcome that trend. She is the most gifted runner I've ever seen.

    Athing Mu ran a 1:55.04 in the 800m at the recent Prefontaine Classic. She is only 19yrs old and a freshman at Texas A&M. Her time is about one and a half seconds off the world record and still has years to go before she peaks. She stands the best chance at breaking the longest current standing track and field record of 38 years. A record that is twice as old as herself.
