National record in the 800, collegiate record in the 400, 48.38 relay split in the 4x4. I will need to update this list very often in the future because athing is unstoppable!
She is blessed by second parents, these are more than coaches, they care about her, emotionally linked, they raised her to be this great. Congratilution to the coaches
She has run every distance well and when asked at ten years old to chose a race to own... Lord anyone who has ever run track and field knows the 800m is brutal, I personally feel the 1600m is actually easier to run... She been breaking records all of her career... She steps into the 2020 Olympics and inspired all... Golden Athing...
David Taylor the issue is qualifying rounds! Yeah they can all do it, but not go through rounds and do them all at a 3-4 day meet. 1500m and 800m are straight finals, but the 200m and 400m 2-3 rounds against competition
run Caz yes all. Break down their best times into 100, 200, 400m splits. It’s understood that they were probably going no more than 75% on each split so you can extrapolate faster times than those splits as shorter splits would allow them to go between 76 and 95%.
Athing Mu is amazing. As a former 800m runner, this so incredible. Maybe a runner will win at 400/800m, or 800/1500m or 200/400m but 400/800/1500, unheard of! I know of few runners that are competitive over that range of events.
5:48 "Very soon we'll have to step back and be her personal cheering section, and I'm all good with that, because that's what we're training her for and getting in her head and she needs to understand, 'Athing, you're going to the next level, and you're going to have to go with someone else but we'll be there to support you'." Wise words from a wise coach! I'm sure it is difficult to train someone for so long, yet realize they're destined for greatness and hand them off to the next level of training.
These USA junior meets are no joke. You're competing against Olympic finalists and medalists like Athing Mu and Erriyon Knighton. Don't worry if you finish 19th or 20th in the USA. You're good. That same time would get you a pro contract anywhere in Europe.
I hope she goes to university and runs fall cross country. It would be great to see her run the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m Steeplechase at the NCAAs! I see her making the final of the 800m at the Olympics in Tokyo next year.
I think women athletes have a shorter peak period then men. So she may only have 6 years. It seems long but if you factor in injuries 6 years is not that long.
Athing is one of the rare people able to excel from pre-teen aau to world class . Truly awesome ability, and she is a classy classy individual. Truly one of my top athletes to watch .
In 2021, Athing Mu just won gold twice at the Olympics. Imagine what will happen at some point in her career, years down the line, when she finishes first in the marathon. Maybe she can double in that as well as the 200. If she learns to swim, and the triathlon be next?
Interesting to know that she didn't do her high school track but she stayed with her club team which of course in my part of the country we don't really have club track teams they have soccer football baseball that kind of thing. She could go from 200 all the way to 1500 I mean that you just that's just so unheard of in track I just think she is amazing and once in a lifetime kind of runner in the essence of like Flo Joe and Carl Lewis you know those icons and she just has an amazing support system which is very important when you get in the spotlight.
!?!? They already have .....many many times, remember; Nubia and Egypt which are both in mother Africa 🌍! We've been here before any nation of humans and will remain because Yah's chosen people happened to be black 🖤💜🖤💜
Now she's the greatest runner in the world and a double Olympic champion at age 18. How about that? Looks like these coaches managed her development correctly because she is still improving. Most athletes who are winning everything and breaking all the records at age 9 or 10 are not the best when they become seniors. Mu has overcome that trend. She is the most gifted runner I've ever seen.
Athing Mu ran a 1:55.04 in the 800m at the recent Prefontaine Classic. She is only 19yrs old and a freshman at Texas A&M. Her time is about one and a half seconds off the world record and still has years to go before she peaks. She stands the best chance at breaking the longest current standing track and field record of 38 years. A record that is twice as old as herself.
They saw it and she did it. The new 800 champ. The way she runs she makes it look so easy but I know it's definitely not. Great job I can't wait for the next Olympics with all these new winners joining the track.
What happened to ‘an’ in American English vocabulary. “…a Impala”??? I’m wondering, is this really acceptable to totally discount ‘an’ in standard English in America? Somebody come to my rescue here!
"She often trains by herself". Why not since she is running by herself in every race.
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂❤️👍🏿right? Right!!
LOL...
I dedicate this song to Ms. Mu: "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen.
I doesn't seem to me that it phases her that she trains by herself.
And here in 2021, after winning the Olympic 800m and 4x400m relay, we see coach was right on target; 400m/800m is her race!
Now she has double gold in the real Olympics. Crazy
Real crazy she need to run the 400 & 800 she will win..we need her in the 400m
Youngest to do so tooo
Well this aged well
She doesn't look like she is running hard, but the clock tells the truth.
John Dyson - That's because her legs are like six feet long each.
I was thinking the same thing ,seems like minimal effort ,unreal
She clearly has a noble character and a sweet disposition - I can also see that very nice people surround her. I wish her an all auspicious destiny.
She is certainly surrounded by super great people now. She's a Texas A&M freshman.
now she's an olympic gold medalist
Your comment stands the test of time lol
@@t0paggie and raised by humble African parents
Well said...noble yet humble!
I'm dying she was literally grabbing some gatorade and in the background you could still see the rest of her race finishing 😂😂 what a beast!
IKR....that was CRAZY!
National record in the 800, collegiate record in the 400, 48.38 relay split in the 4x4. I will need to update this list very often in the future because athing is unstoppable!
Looks like she had great training and support from her coaches but at the end of the day she's truly special.
She’s a once in a lifetime athlete…maybe the greatest all-around female runner ever by the time she’s finished.
Her versatility and range of distance she runs is what's amazing.
AM can become a 2nd & 3rd... times
kratochvilova did 11.09 and 1:53
She is blessed by second parents, these are more than coaches, they care about her, emotionally linked, they raised her to be this great. Congratilution to the coaches
They saw her talent years ago. They knew she was a winner. What a young lady.
Her future is just getting started. She will collect many more medals in to her
Collections !
She's going to need a room for all the medal she's going to collect!
So proud that she's from New Jersey too! Maybe other kids will want to start running too.
A future Olympian
You read thee future my friend 🤯
She's Athing‼️‼️‼️ 🤩🤩🤩
she’s one now
She just made the Olympic team! And I got my money on her in Tokyo believe that. 🇸🇸/🇺🇸
@@benbiel5987 i was tuned in just now
She just qualified in the 800m today
She’s unreal. So proud of her!

Miss Mu makes me so proud to watch her run and her attitude is "Regal", Run Queen!!!!!
So smooth, so fast, and from 200 to 1,500? So unusual.

David Taylor: There may be a few, but ALL? That would be news to me.

She probably was unstoppable at the Pacer test
David Taylor I run 100 and the 1500
Great job parents and coaches!!! Noticing, and nurturing talent is what it takes
She never slowed down!. Watching her coaches’ prophecies come to pass gave me tears of joy! Olympic Champion in 800 and 4x400!
And now an Olympic champion. Well deserved
And actually put in the work. She’s such a role model.
This young lady is gifted.
What surprises me is how easy and relaxed she makes it look.
And, humble!
@@eddieokojie5425 Yes, she looks unassuming and humble indeed. I hope she succeeds.

She's running again on saturday along with shelly ann, shar'cari at 4:30 on nbc we will see who's the best in the 100

This girl is superrrr fast! Her coach gave her a goal when she was 14-15 to run 2:15 in the 800 and she hit them with a 2:10 😮💨….Lol go Athing Mu ❤️
A champion in the making.
The way Mu ran the final stretch in the 4x40om relay with that huge lead it reminded me of Secretariat in the stretch at the Belmont.
She torched that 400 🔥🔥🔥
She is a lovely melanin woman
Athing is beautiful 👑 Love her skin coloring the most, black gold and black silk💜🖤💜
