How true. I’m doing the same at the moment. It’s the challenge of keeping these fish. Personally I became infatuated with trying to keep an electric blue jack Dempsey. And touch wood at the moment everything is going well. If you can say from a size of about an inch to maybe 2 inches already after 3-4 months.
Very caring and informative video. Yes the bigger the tank the better mate. I personally would not keep fish that are bigger than 7 inches in this hobby. Before I moved to Thailand I had an 8-foot tank that was given to me with all the filters and everything. I kept a green terror with a fire mouth along with some geophagous and 2 sevrums. Believe it or not I hardly had any fights ever! I had plenty of caves and things to control it. They used to dare each other rather than actually fight but I had the tank decorated by a real professional who took photos of their natural environment and copied it as for the Green Terror he was a gentle giant for the most part and never had any health issues with them. I was told to keep the water quality at top condition at all times plus the right diet too. Water quality has so much to do with the health of your fish. I don't really like it when some people recommend a MINIMUM size tank for a certain fish, I would rather say don't buy a Green Terror unless you have an 8-foot tank lol. But we all have our own opinions. Thank you.

Hi Paul, I have wanted a true green terror for ages you have a few absolute stunners. Bloody rivilatus dominates fish shops and it is titled “green terror” it really annoys me. The best fish I have seen on UA-cam is your trimac trigger 10/10 fish absolute stunner. Never seen one for sale

Beautiful fish Paul. I think you’re right that the 2 in the frame are males. What I noticed is that the females in this species have very distinctively rounded edges to their dorsal fins. Beautiful fishes they are mate, thanks for the content.
I just got a Gold Saum which basically is this fish but store bread....true green terror dont have gold trim they have silver like yours do.....its my favorite fish hands down but mine is very agressive...it won't allow me to put any other fish in with him....firemouth, threadfins, I've tried a few and none work....he tries to kill them

Those sponges seem to be working a treat for you so far, will you be gong back to the cannisters if the electric rates go back down or are you happy with the air pump now?
That's a good question mate I am really happy with the Sponges they are fantastic I would probably add a canister to my community tank just cause its overstocked but the Sponges are doing their job lol
@@bigfishlad4847 Heating a room instead of water is the right move when you have a few tanks in a smaller room, mine must be the only house in the country left that never had central heating fitted so my tank heater is on quite a bit this time of year haha!
this is the fish that started me keeping cichlids. I love the green terror! Myself I have never had trouble keeping them. I actually have a tank full of fry at the moment. I wish you were in the US or rather I was over there. I could get some more to you!🐠🦯 5:29

Super common fish is Florida, my local LFS has them all the time….I just bought my 1st green terror and he will live with a firemouth cichlid
Are they Rivulatus or Stalsbergi in your lfs just know a few guys in America who say they are very rare the Stalsbergi

i got a texas, and found a green terror arouund the same size about to get that puppy this week
