It's the most wonderful time of the year. If you're in the 45% of people around the world who bother to celebrate it that is! Any motherfactors excited for Christmas?
That was a fun list! :D Did you know that also, in South Korea, Christmas is considered more of a 'couples' and 'young children' holiday rather than a family holiday? Feels funny to me! It seems New Years is the bigger deal in Asia.
In Finland we celebrate christmas in the 24th of december (Christmas eve). That actually causes most finnish kids to think that christmas is the christmas eve. Anyways in our calendars 24th is marked as ''jouluaatto''(christmas eve) and the 25th as ''joulupaivä''(christmas day.) Still most Finnish people really only keep the 25th as some kind of resting day after chrismas.
You should mentioned some of the interpretations of Santa Claus from the Nordic countries and russia and other countries around that area because they are very interesting...
I read that there are over 200 film adaptions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Twas the Night Before Christmas was originally titled A Visit from Saint Nicholas. Jesus was born on April 17, 6 CE. Boxing Day is when Brits try to box up all of their Christmas decorations, just as Black Friday is when people might black out their credit cards trying to get their Christmas shopping done all at once. Krampus travels as Santa's shadow to drag children too naughty to just be given coal to Hell.
i like tuttles ..In Capitalist America and Europe...Christmas Credit Card Depts You...Happy New Years :D enjoy all that stuff you don't really need or your kid will throw a tantrum...but those reds were just savages on Christmas.
From the Netherlands: We have 3 holidays in December, Sinterklaas mostly celebrated on the 5th of December, Christmas on 25-& 26 December and Old Years Day. Also Sinterklaas arrives in a steamboat from Spain, lol. Happy holidays to ya all :)
I know I’m saying this a little early but in Australia Boxing Day is a pretty big holiday not as big as Christmas but families you do you have a nice lunch and give each other extra presents movies get released and everyone does not celebrating with the family just goes to the shops it’s a nice day (also I don’t care #ListenToChristmasMusicBeforeChristmas)
In Czech Republic, Santa Claus gives presents on the 6th of December in stockings and baby Jesus gives presents on the evening of the 24th of December under the tree .
Outta curiosity, per the adaption of Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol - is that every single adaption, including all the plays that have been made or only movies and all the books and book-like-stuff-things?
Wait, weren't the mad-jai (I dunno how you pronounce it) also the same race of desert people who decapitated anubis's minions in that *one* awful Brendan fraser movie? Edit: apologies to everyone for that movie is helluva load of crap
