In Scandinavian countries, the Yule goat figures into the Christmas decor of many homes. In Norse mythology, the two goats pulled Thor's flying chariot the same way reindeer do for Santa's sleigh. On top of that, there's also a festive tale that focuses on an invisible Yule goat that checks in on holiday prep before the big day. That's why, in 1966, the Gävle Goat was created in an effort to draw shoppers to the Swedish city where it resides. Standing 42.6 feet high and seven meters in length, it also weighs a whopping 3.6 tons. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Bonus fact: it was actually pretty traditional to tell ghost stories around the Christmas season. Not sure why, but it's something that I wish would come back. Maybe my fellow horror writers and I can make it happen (I may be Jewish, but a scary Christmas sounds great to me). Also, no mentions of Krampus? Why, Chris, why?
I still love the fact that people in Japan celebrate Christmas by eating KFC, and it's such a big deal that people have to order food or make reservations weeks or even months in advance.
I keep my decorations up until the Epiphany (Three Kings Day). By then I'm pretty much over Christmas and ready to start thinking toward Valentine's Day, lengthening days, and (eventually) better temperatures, though winter's just getting into fully swing by then. I'm just not a winter person.
I m Italian and I visit my family. I go to see them at least once a year. Except the last few years. I’m going there this year. I was shown by my grand uncle showed it to me.
As for the playing card one. You got it slightly wrong. The cards didnt suddenly appear when w3t. Actually what happened was that when put under water, due to the type of glue used, the cards split apart and a part 9f a map was r3vealled. These map parts could be joined together to produce a full map.
The fact about Oklahoma being the last state to declare Christmas as a holiday in 1907. 3 states were not yet states so how can that statement be true?
It just shows you what we know today about Christmas half of it as just being made up over the centuries So therefore how do we know the other half is not just been made up as well The whole birth of Jesus in Bethlehem thing I am on about ?
This really sucks please brings Sam back it's not the same. No offense to Chris he does a good job but I just have years of nostalgia and it's just different.
Will always love this channel no matter who’s doing the talking, always producing amazing content

Yeah, that's insane. Somebody should point out, it's not the feast. it's the fact. And we get none of this right.

#1 inaccurate!! It's called X-mas as a way to delete Jesus from the holiday that is for Him!
