SSG isn't really a different company. It is a spin-off. The LOTRO development team remained largely intact. Some of the most important people (Scenario, Orion) who left during the Turbine days have returned to SSG in recent years.
A frienbd of mine, a former EverQuest guildie, was working for Turbine when LOTRO launched. At that time, he was part of the DDO design team, but later, he was transferred to LOTRO and eventually designed the Warden class. Thanks to him, I was in the beta in February 2007, bought a lifetime subscription, and have been playing ever since.
Ethrimund from Crickhollow here, nice video, you've got yourself a new subscriber! I've only been playing since 2018, and while I still kick myself for not finding out the game existed until then, I've made loads of new friends and had loads of experiences that I'll cherish forever in my time spent in the game!
Been playing on and off since the spring of 2009. Had been playing (whispers... WoW) and my PC had an accident - don't know what happened but there was a pop, a small puff of smoke and a smell. Turned it off and unplugged it for a few days. Decided to see what I could salvage and it seemed to run just fine, so I tried it out with... that other game. Looked ok until it got to character selection - it showed the background, the armour/clothes... but not the bodies in them - no face, no arms or legs, nothing - tried to play it and it was too strange. So I had look for something else and found LotRO. As a long time Tolkien fan I gave it a try and was pleased to find no graphical issues. Play has been on and off over the years - but I always come back. And you and Louey7 have started me off again. So I blame you both and thank you too 😁
I too was in LOTRO beta and I can even go back farther as my first ever MMO was Asheron's Call also developed by Turbine. Both are great games, though sadly, AC is now gone...
I'm totally new to LOTRO - yes a irl noob here. I made a hobbit that looks like Gabriel Burn. Thanks for doing these videos. I'm an old wow player but don't shun me, up for a new adventure
I stopped playing after 2018. Had ten characters and a lifetime sub. Unfortunately, someone hacked my account, or at least, I was told that as a reason why my account was locked. Personally, I never reported any suspicious activity.
@@aubreytheweirdone No, I'm done. Was playing since the beta. I had every character at max level, even all my Creeps in the Ettenmoors. Kinship with every faction, including all of the crafting halls. I was completely self-sufficient in every way. When I looked at my time on in 2013, if I played non-stop, I had 14 continuous months of time in the game.
@@aubreytheweirdone woot awesome to hear that I'm acually extremely interested lotro is on. My bucket list but before I play it I wanna kno exactly wat im getting into
@aubreytheweirdone I posted this on a bunch of lotro tubers videos lol I'm hoping for a bunch of these vids soon lol tbh idk how the entire community missed the subject xD seems important
True, the devs have taken certain liberties here and there, but they kinda had to, it is a video game after all, and I think Sir Tolkien would approve of most of the changes.

That’s awesome! I missed my chance of a lifetime sub and I regret it 🥹 I’m glad you made some good calls!

Hi. Which class is that @0:50 ?
Beorning 🙂
I too was in LOTRO beta and I can even go back farther as my first ever MMO was Asheron's Call also developed by Turbine. Both are great games, though sadly, AC is now gone...
So far its been fun, legendary items are still very confusing to me though
Yes, I am still confused about them myself lol. This is why I haven't made a guide yet for them.
@@aubreytheweirdone I kinda just put traceries in based on my main stats, so far it's been ok but I'm only 56
i have been playing this game for 3 years and still feel like noob
Me too lol. It's okay.... 😂 I don't judge!

Welcome to LOTRO- we promise not to shun lol 😆
I have been playing since beta!
That's awesome!!
I played beta was so exciting
Happy Anniversary!!!
Congrats to LOTRO!
When does the valor 140 boost come out?
I unfortunately do not know my friend! I’m sure there is or will be something in the LOTRO forums about it.
@@aubreytheweirdone ok I started a beorning toon do you think a beorning is stronger then a guardian
@@Thepandarengod guardian has better defense, but beornings are more well rounded (more heals, aoe skills, etc.) I’d say beorning.
👍 Been playing since it went live!
140 valar is now out and its pricy!
Keep up the good work
Thank you 😊 I appreciate you for watching!
uhh LOTRO was originally developed by codemasters

THATS AWFUL! I’m so sorry! Will you continue to play on a new account or has that whole experience soured the game for you too?
