The best... the children smiling and enjoying the music.
I recall seeing this a few years ago, absolutely beautiful. This is an excerpt from the 4th movement of Beethoven's magnificent 9th symphony which contains the choral adaptation of poet Freidrich Schiller's "Ode to Freedom" the title later changed to "Ode to joy" written & performed in German. This work I have adored for close to 40 years. It moves people like no other classical work. Incredibly Beethoven wrote it when he was completely deaf. The entire symphony of 4 movements is about 75 minutes long. It would make a phenomenal 4 part reaction? Or at least the 4th movement? Discovering Beethoven's music was a profound moment in my musical journey, this may be the same for you? Best wishes
European anthem
Beethoven could hear it in his head as he wrote, which is a wonderful thing.
@@arnodobler1096 i'm happy someone other than me knows it's in fact also been chosen as EU Anthem.
This just gets me every time. We need THIS, not the stupid wars and hatred.
Music unites ✌
This is the perfect example of how music brings people together
I think it is Beethoven's Ode to Joy. It brought me tears as well. What a fortunate little girl. Us too.
The piece was “Ode to Joy” by Beethoven. I cry every time I watch it, and I know it was a commercial for the bank in the background. It’s still beautiful.
forth movement of the 9th symphony by Beethoven.
That's how adverts SHOULD be done. And they did very well to keep it under wraps until the surprise was sprung. Magnificent.
A realy nice Medley
The whole Thing: Beethovens 9. Synphonie

Hey, Verdy- I got 50 years on you (at least) and I cried... and I had seen it before. My tears came from yours. Simple as that. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Ditto! crying with a big grin on my face!
I always cry when I see this video. Verdy, I really like the emotion you showed! Great reaction!
This tune was adopted as the "Anthem of Europe" by the Council of Europe in 1972 and subsequently by the European Union.
The emotions come from the music - the Ode de Joy from the 4th movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony. It's one of the most evocative pieces of orchestral music of all time. I've seen musicians in professional symphonies with tears streaming down their faces while playing this. And also to the reaction of sweet Mlle. Verdy.
By now you know this is Beethoven's 9th, and last symphony. Beethoven was completely deaf when he wrote it. He heard it in his mind. When it was first performed, he was in the audience. After the performance started, he could see where it was in the score. He closed his eyes and was moving in his chair as if conducting. However , he heard it in his mind at a slower rhythm than the conductor of the orchestra. At the end of the performance, Beethoven was still conducting it in his memory. The lead soprano walked into the crowd, got Beethoven's attention, and had him turn around to see the standing ovation that he could not hear.
I remember first seeing this flash mob video about 10 years ago. Since then, I've watched it numerous times. Your reaction was wonderful! ❤
Lovely, Ode to Joy 😊🍁🍎🍁 BRAVO!
One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Thank you so much.
Hi Verdy, like the Orchestral Flashmob triggered by the Little Girl, Your compassionate reaction was also a joy to witness, you clearly have the kindest of hearts, which probably explains why you understand the intricacies of all these 'classics' on such an unusually deep level. Which also explains why you totally saw how one small act of Kindness (a subject close to my heart) in any form can grow into something Immensely Emotional, Positive, Memorable and sometimes even Life Changing. A Wonderful Clip, Thankyou ☺️
Your tears were so joyful, as were mine as I watched your lovely reaction. Classical music can bring so much emotion! Thank you, beautiful Verdy.
I love your reaction and your voice. My wife of 35 years died last October and she loved Beethoven and Mozart and this piece especially. She was born in Montpellier, France and had that beautiful French accent that you have. A lady once asked her to teach her how to have that accent. My wife answered, go live in France for about 20 years. A few days before she died we had our last conversation. I came to her bed and she said "who are you". I said, "I am your husband." She said "No, you're not." We repeated these words several times. Finally, I said, "OK, I 'm not your husband. Then she smiled and said "Yes, you are". I still cry when I think about that conversation. She left me 35 years of wonderful memories. Thanks for making me remember again. And contrebass is correct in French, bass viol in English.
Beautiful. Much like you. Thank you.
One of my favorite flash mob videos ever - love the reaction!
I absolutely shared your reaction. Beautiful is the word! And maybe love...
I agree, this is an emotional moment. Ode to joy is a beautiful piece of music.
I remember when I first experienced this... by far the best bank commercial I've ever seen. That piece has been bringing listeners to tears of joy for hundreds of years.
Beethoven was amazing and the ode to joy is one of his most famous pieces.
This is what they call a "flash mob". I've seen different types including soldiers doing synchronised drill marching in a train station.
Ps, thanks for making an old man cry with joy. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Pretty great. I must've watched this at least 20 times because it's just a beautiful thing.
you're a beautiful human. stay beautiful verdy.
How pleasant to see your heart. Thank you.
Best advert for a bank ever!
Hi Verdy... I love your Led Zep reactions. You are on a very short list of "reactors" that I truly and greatly appreciate. ❤
I cried, too. This is the shit that society needs far more of.
the "ode to joy" is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.
It's magical! Love your reaction!❤
I've seen it before, but worth seeing it again with you and I cried too once again.
I cry every time. I feel that this could be the one thing that that we can all agree is beautiful and build toward world peace
The fact that it hit you, you are a angel. My father loved classical music. My mother was french. They are gone but this was a great one to remember my father by.
Music unites ALL people, regardless of age, race, religion or social standing...it's a universal language!
I love your style and demeanor. I show this video to my grade 3 students. I am an American teaching English in Thailand. Keep up the good work. I cried with you today. :)
I cried, too.
Such a heartwarming reaction to this magnificent performance. We love your reactions to so many genres. This piece evokes emotions from us EVERY time. Thank you for sharing this. Greetings from Arizona.
I do believe that the instrument the Gentleman is playing is the standup Bass.
that was wonderful the power of music is amazing.
Thank you for sharing this I’ve seen this more than once before and loved it I loved your reaction. If you want to see another great piece on UA-cam type in danish orchestra the good bad and the ugly it is absolutely epic beautiful beautiful beautiful.
Thanks!
A small gift to you...❤
The anthem of the European Union. Oh those were the days.........
You had the perfect reaction to any good music. If music can not provoke emotions then you have no emotions.
I understand why Verdy became emotional.I don't even like Beethoven and think his 'Ode To Joy' is played too often but it moved me too.Something to do with an entire orchestra responding to this little girl's kindness and generosity and there she is standing on her own as the musicians move in front of her and play just for her.One of the biggest busking events of all time! What a shame the little girl wasn't shown in the second half of the film.Very original choice for a reaction video.I haven't seen this done before.
Oh, spent many years enjoying rush, ever since I was 15 and saw them at cobo hall Detroit Michigan 1977.
Thanks for a genuine reaction. I’m tired of people faking and exaggerating just so they can have something to put in their video’s thumbnail.
AND ONE LAST:
YOUR TEARS and YOUR EMPATHY to this song creates a great link between 1785 and 1824 and 2022 to grand mankind!!!
Wow this is a fantastic video you decide to watch with your fans. It's ok to get emotional VERDY when you see and hear something you like.
ode to joy .. is the name of the music
Beethoven's Ode To Joy... Symphony Number 9...
The joy of music 😳😭😍
GETS ME EVERY TIME.
That was absolutely perfect, beautiful…OMG!!!
love your reaction ...
This one is so cool. Ive. Probably watched it about 50 times. Great reactio
This stirring performance is Ludwig von Beethoven's Immortal, Triumphant, "9th Symphony" Chorale "Ode to Joy"..! It is also the Anthem of "The European Union"...!!
In English, the big instrument is also sometimes called a contrabass, though usually it's a double bass or just a bass.
"The community come together", that's what's it all about : All humans become brothers.
This was beautiful. What a beautiful piece of music they choice . I am not sure the exact movement or whatever it is as I don't know a lot about classical music. I believe this is from Beethoven's "Ode to Joy". Those are tears of joy you are crying, so cry away. Albert Camus wrote years ago "Life is to be lived to the point of tears." So cry on @VERDY channel
Thank you, Verdy
The power of music is undeniable!
Beethoven Ninth Symphony,
Ode To Joy.
Brilliant!
Yeah, Beethoven moves you to tears. Works for me every time.
Me, an Italian guy, watching a French girl, speking in English, watching a Spanish video on a German song, while we all cheer up and cry. No wonder Ode to Joy was chosen as the EU anthem 💙
The music is the Ode to joy, written by Friedrich Schiller and set to music by Ludwig van Beethoven. It's also the official anthem of the European Union.
Beethoven's ode to joy.The Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, is a choral symphony.
This reminded me of another flashmob I saw about 10 years ago......'One Day More'...( from Les Miserables ). There are so many of them on UA-cam now, I can't find it. I remember it was in a mall & it wasn't in english, but it was a company announcing their plans to tour the show.
Vienna, May 7th 1824, a profoundly deaf Beethoven premieres his 9th Symphony. “Ode to Joy” is heard for the first time. The complexity of sound and voice in a movement, not an opera, is a major shift from the norm. These are the foundation stones on which Rock’N’Roll was built.
Great reaction!
Great reaction, Verdy. Good to see young people enjoying classical music.
This is Beethoven 9th also known as Ode to Joy. It is the anthem of the EU....bravo!
Love your reaction. Had the same reaction myself
So amazing
Beautiful reaction young lady. What it must have been like in Vienna in 1824 when people first heard this music at its debut. 😊
With a meaning full lyrics ☺️☺️
The power of music :)
If only all tears were caused by happiness... Wonderful reaction, thank you for sharing.
Great reaction!!!!!!! It's ode to joy by beethoven. You are not alone. Whenever I see this video it makes me emotional.
You are such a sweet girl. I'm a 69 year old man and it is okay to cry.. Greetings from Yorkshire UK. Take care. John.x
Think you'll find its a "Flash Mob" where a group of people/players come together perform a piece and then disperse . There are a number of them online, or used to be
I just love all your reactions, so genuine. As the old saying goes, some people hear the music, and some people Feel the music, you definitely feel it. Look forward to your next reaction no matter what it is
Yes tears are common
Beethoven's ode to joy.
The instrument you were asking about in English is called a double bass.
As other mentions this piece is called ode to joy, its the national anthem of the european union and europe in a wider sense. The poem "Ode to Joy" expresses Friedrich Schiller's idealistic vision of the human race becoming brothers - a vision Beethoven shared.
Thank you so much for this. I knew what was coming, and my eyes just did it again. The anthem of the European Union, no less. Oh, on your own, listen to the entire piece. Arguably the finest symphony ever written.
Great vid Verdy, music is the best.
The first time I got to see this wasn’t too long after it was uploaded. I’ve seen this several times throughout the years. 😌 It’s always amazing what music can do and how it pulls at our emotions. I cry every time I see this video and others like it because it’s just so pure and hits your heart. 🎶 I’m a firm believer that music helps heal part of the soul. (^~^) 🎶💕🦋
I have seen this many times and it never fails to make me smile from ear to ear and tears to fall down my cheek.
The finale gives me chills every time too!
Merci - I love your channel! Go on with it.
She is absolutely the most adorable ❤❤❤❤
Beethoven's Ode to Joy may be the best piece of music ever written. No one can listen to it without feeling deep happiness. Many classical pieces are laborious and boring. Beethoven's genius transcends music into Nirvana. God had his hand in this.
That little girl got her moneys worth for sure. Beautiful symphony peace
"Ode to joy".... Beautiful flahmob! I cry everytime I see it
I wish we had magical hats like that in my city.
It's like winning money , soon you got friends and relatives you didn't know you had show up wanting a part of your winnings.
😄
It's what we call in the UK, a flash orchestra. As to a flash mob etc.
Wow beautiful 👍👍
The first time I saw this video years ago, I teared up. Ode To Joy always evokes emotions. RIP Beethoven.
People like you give me a hope for the future. TY.
Best video on the Internet!
C'est la 9' de Beethoven Choral " Ode à la joie"
I was crying all the time! It's NO SHAME! It's a GIFT!
Believe me!
The anthem for our wonderful continent ,ode to joy,Beethoven's 9th
The "flash mob" scenario and the choice of one of the most inspiring pieces of music ever written, is a magnificent way to introduce people and children in particular to the wonders of classical music. There is a performance of this piece from Japan that features a choir of 10,000.
