In this video, you'll hear lots of nostalgic sounds, from the heavy plastic compartments of my Beauty Showcase, to the crinkly paper wrapping, to the delicate clicks and clacks of the jars and lids. I demonstrate various products using soft-spoken voice throughout. I hope this brings back some wonderful memories.

Love this vintage Avon series! Exactly like when the Avon lady would visit in the afternoons in the 1960's. My Mom would let me sit there through the visit and I'd look at every one of the tiny lipstick samples, try all the cream sachets, and beauty dust. And once in a while, was allowed to choose something from the kids page in the catalog. Great memories! Thank you!💄

My aunt use to help sell Avon in her consignment shop and I always snagged the little lipstick samples and wear them at school because my father didn't want me wearing makeup
Some here are probably older than me but I was only a 7 in 1967. My grandmother sold avon. I was a little kid she used to let us play with the lipstick samples. This so brings back memories.

I grew up in Brazil and this is still a thing there nowadays! This was my childhood. Such a blessing to share this experience with Americans who are now in their 60s ❤
You’re the second person from Brazil to mention this. How interesting. Avon started out as the California Perfume Company in the 1880s then eventually became Avon.
@@MidModMeridianASMR If I'm not wrong, Avon has been in Brazil since the '60's, and always was highly popular, especially because their low prices. Some classic perfumes are still sold today, like Sweet Honesty and Charisma, but the major success nowadays is the makeup.
P.S: I have an aunt that still keeps a green bottle of Rapture, and some other exquisite bottles, like a white telephone and a swan...

I'm from Brazil and we still have ladies (my sister in law included) selling Avon. ❤ I was a small kid in the 80s but I had a lot of the small lipsticks the Avon ladies would gift me 😂 my grandma was a costumer and she had the Talc (I loved the smell!) and Perfumes on her dresser with a mirror in the bedroom.

It blows my mind that the people who remember this decade are in their 60s or older today. I would love to go back in time and spend one day there. Greatful to be a millennial baby, but I am so intrigued by the mid century period!

It's not all it's cracked up to be on the tv etc. I'm '82, but my parents were '42 and '46 -- So they remember the 60s well. From their discussions and memories I think I'm cool having missed it all.
I am a boomer born in 54 and my 3 sisters and I lived and loved the 60s every bit of it. My parents were in their early 30’s and had a ball. Nothing compares ❤❤❤❤
I was born in ‘77. And my parents were born in the 30s, I’d have loved to have lived in the 60s. I know it was stressful for some people. But I’d rather have lived through the 50s and 60s than this modern age, even if it meant I’d die soon. Who knows what’s going to happen to the earth with climate change and overpopulation. I would have preferred to live back then anyday. I loved everything about the decade.
Well, it’s always a bit easier to idealize the past than the present. Our memories have a habit of discarding the bad stuff unless it was really traumatic. But I’m a nostalgia-phile through and through. I recently found my old childhood house on Zillow and saw pictures of the inside online. I just about DIED when I saw a picture of the attic. It was exactly the same as it was in 1969 when my brother and I shared a bedroom up there-including the half wall (cased with the original paneling) that my mom and dad built to sort of separate our beds and spaces just a bit. I can’t tell you what a nostalgic jolt that gave me. I cried!! 🥹❤️
Yes! One of my first experiences with ASMR was that scene in Edward Scissorhands!

Well, that’s cool AND funny. My dad wasn’t home during the day when the Avon lady came a calling in the 60s and 70s. Not sure if he would have rolled his eyes or not. 😂 (He’s 85 now. 🥰🥰🥰)

Love this! Where do you find all of your props for the role plays? I find it especially notable that you have the catalog showing the exact bottles you are demonstrating. Seems like that wouldn't be an easy find! Makes it so authentic and enjoyable.
Many props come from local thrift shops and estate sales. But the more unusual things (like the Avon products and catalog) usually require a search on Etsy or eBay. I’m really happy you like the authenticity. ☺️💚✨

My auntie was an Avon lady in the 90s when my sister and I were growing up. I loved the wonderful gifts she'd get us. Bubble baths and beads, oils, and lip balms. Sweet Honesty was my scent through high school...ahh nostalgia. I should try to get my hands on a bottle.

What a lovely video! I am a Avon representative and have been for 10+ years. I love Avon products. My favorite Avon perfume was Here’s My Heart which is no longer available and Sweet Honesty which I still use since I was a teen girl in the 1970’s. ❤️ I still kept the Here’s My Heart cream perfume blue jar & flower top and use it as a decoration in my bathroom.

I was just talking about avon today! I got this cute little glass bottle at the thrift store recently that is from avon but I'm not sure what product. I used to look through my grandma's avon catalogs all the time when I was little. I'm about to turn 21 so that wasn't quite the same as this but it was always fun when she got a new one and sometimes she gave me little tiny lipsticks to play with. I'm not sure if she still gets the catalogs or not now though
And I just realized that I have a couple of avon lipsticks that I still use sometimes 😂

Im 39 and I remember my mom bringing home the Avon catalogs from a lady that sh3 worked with. I would be so excited to look through it with her. She ordered for me sometimes. I wish that lady would have come over with samples and such but that never happened. I missed out! Lol

In the 60s, men in white collar jobs wore dressy hats almost everyday. Not ball caps either lol. I remember my dad’s hat and where he’d hang it up when he got home. Trying to remember when he stopped wearing it. It’s strange how fashions change over time.

Yes, I do! Those Beauty Showcases are rare. I’ve only seen one other on eBay. Otherwise, it’s the 1960s/1970s totes or “suitcases” with the same pattern. Lots of those out there.
