  • I can't tell you how excited I am to present this video to you. I hope you have as much fun, relaxation, and enjoyment out of it as I have. This is primarily a soft-spoken video that opens with some layered sounds of the women socializing before the main event. Wadeanne is so excited to have you over, and I'm sure she would love it if you booked a party yourself (because that means free Tupperware for her!!).

    Vintage Tupperware is expensive, and I only had a couple of 1960's pieces in my collection, so I knew making this video would require a major investment if I even did it at all. But I asked you about it, and you delivered. I could not have made this video without the financial help of each of my producers, who collectively donated almost $400 so I could find/purchase this treasure trove of gorgeous vintage Tupperware (most of it from the 60s). You certainly have not seen the last of it--many more Tupperware videos to come. ✨✨✨
    I'd like to personally thank each one of you by name. Unfortunately, I am unable to see the names of four donors in particular who contributed to a "community gift" of new Tupperware (the canister set) on my Throne Wishlist. Normally, I would be able to see names, but the community gift wasn't fully funded, so in order to receive it in time for this video, I had to convert it from a community gift to an individual gift (which caused the funds associated with it to be transferred as "cash" to my Throne account). I then used those funds plus some of my own to purchase the new Tupperware canisters on Amazon. For some reason, I am now unable to see the names associated with those funds. (Maybe I'm missing something.) If you are one of the Throne donors--or another donor whose name isn't listed below--you have my sincere apologies. Please let me know in the comments or email me at midmodmeridian@gmail.com and I will follow up with a Community Post to acknowledge your wonderful generosity.
    Thank you so much to the producers of this video:

    I just remembered my mom’s friend’s name who used to throw Tupperware parties. Her name was Eloise and she was so kind and welcoming. She had a grumpy husband named Bill who drank a bunch, but he was super nice too when he wasn’t sauced up. I feel suddenly tremendously grateful for everything in my life, and struck by an overwhelming feeling of love for humanity. Thank you so much for bringing creativity, love, and light into this world. ✨💕💖💕✨

      Did they live in a small coastal North Carolina town and their last name start with a C? Just wondering because the lady who my mom used to buy Tupperware from was also named Eloise and she had a grumpy husband named Bill. Isn't that a funny coincidence? 😊

      Same. I was a kid in the 80’s and I remember in some shops there were still remanence of the 60’s. A lot of people’s homes still had the 60’s/70’s decor. Especially older people.

    The fact that a voice as soothing as this has less than 50 thousand views at the time of writing this, is criminal. Genuinely some of the strongest tingles I've ever had; this deserves at least a million.

    Ah, the Jello salad. My sister worked for a local church for a time. The Women's Group there compiled a number of recipe books contributed by members. She gave me one from 1957. In the salad section, there were 17 recipes that featured gelatin in some fashion, either plain or Jello. Some sounded pretty tasty, others . . . not so much. One had chopped vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, tuna, and canned peas.

    • @radiantseraph
      @radiantseraph 3 місяці тому +5

      It sounds like they made a casserole and suspended it in jelly.

    • @beth12svist
      @beth12svist 2 місяці тому +2

      Aside from the tuna, that actually sounds rather like something you can still get here in Czechia... how tasty it is depends a lot on the quality of the ingedients; some of the storebought versions have eggs that are way too hard, for example. 😅 If not, it's actually not too bad - accompanied by a good slice of sourdough bread perhaps! Not something I am too keen on, but my father likes it, and I don't _mind_ it every once in a while.
      I would not call it a salad, though. 😂

    • @MidModMeridianASMR
      @MidModMeridianASMR  Місяць тому +1

      The Jello “salads” from the 60s and 70s were absolutely over the top. I wonder what started that craze, because it definitely was a craze. Tuna, peas, shrimp, tomato juice, canned Spam, little wieners, carrots . . . you name it and it was fair game.

      I sold Tupperware in the late 70s, and what I sold was harvest gold, olive green, harvest orange, etc. I think some bolder colors came out in the late 80s/early 90s, like lime green and red. But I remember these pastel colors in my mom's kitchen when I was a child. These are my favorite.

    Circa 1965, my mother "sprinkled clothes" before ironing them. That created steam for those who didn't own a steam iron or for one that was clogged. She used a sprinkler top on a cork that fit on a Pepsi bottle.

    • @beth12svist
      @beth12svist 2 місяці тому +1

      Here in Czechia, we still did that in the early 90s, and in fact I did it very recently for a while when our steam irons died and I only had a non-steam retro one for about a year during the later lockdowns/just after lockdowns when we had a lot of other things to take care of. 😅
      I honestly think steam irons only became a widely available thing here when the borders opened, though that's a child's memory so, limited. (It may have been one of those cases where the thing may even have technically existed but good luck getting your hands on one as a regular person...)

    One of my favourite Tupperware videos! I love the ambient soft spoken start. It reminds me of falling asleep as a child with the ambient sounds of my parents enjoying dinner with friends downstairs. ❤ I also remember Tupperware very well as my mother was a huge fan, although in a different era (mid 80's, early 90s). My mother also took me to a few make up parties, so this was so nostalgic in the same way that your Avon videos are. A beautiful video. I wish we still did parties like these!

    what an AMAZING video!! whenever i watch your videos i’m usually 10 minutes away from sleeping, but this one i had on just for background noise as i played a mobile game, and i ended up engrossed in it! you always manage to make your videos feel so homey and personal, like they’re just someone’s day to day life that we’re stopping by to see. the presentation of the tupperware is gorgeous, and the layered party sounds in the beginning really set the tone for this video. there’s just a certain level of care put into your videos that makes it all seem so genuine in a way, and i love that you explore different scenarios and characters! i feel that so many in the community end up following whatever ASMR trend is happening, and some creators end up feeling a little stale by sticking with the same format for all of their videos. you have the vintage theme for your channel but still have different types of content that follow the various facets of life in the 60s, and it almost feels like a cinematic universe in a way. i’m always blown away by your creativity and commitment to your videos!!

    We still have that green bowl-I smuggled it into my own home at some point. I think mom still has the yellow one in that set. I grew up with those salt and pepper shakers and mom still has them and I remember mom letting me help make popsicles and fudge sicles in those molds. We still have the square containers she used for packing sandwiches. She also had the sippy cups that my brother and I used as toddlers. We were definitely a Tupperware house. We had 2+ cabinets dedicated to it all.

    I love your Tupperware video! I know I or my mother owned every product shown! In the late 80s. I sold a lot of Avon and Tupperware to many men who didn’t know what they needed. Was a great relationship both ways! So much fun…thank you for this wonderful relationship of days gone by! Love you lots for it🎉
