Thankfully the allies arranged mass delivery of food during the 1944-5 winter to prevent the kind of deaths that happened in India in 1943.
However, the Dutch children seem to have been so well fed by the Allies, that today the Dutch are the tallest people in Europe. 😊
Haha
VERY SAD. I WISH MILITARIES WOULD CARE MORE FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD.
Holland was the only country where the Nazi' had a deliberate,State policy of starvation for an entire nation. The winter of 1944-1945 was extremely harsh.
My mother was 10 at the beginning of WW2 in Rotterdam. Almost every home around hers was bombed. She almost starved to death in that last year, and when the Americans dropped cans of food from planes, her liitle neighbour was struck and killed. Terrible stories.
@@joeldecoster8816 How often was Rotterdam bombed? All I know is the 1940 bombing.
@@qwertasdcfghjklmo24z Continiously goe5 years

Cute little things deserve the best
How come Nazi demon made them starve
The reprisals with which the German occupier responded to the national railway strike, together with general German policy. For a period of six weeks the transport of food to the west was blocked; relatively simple, by erecting blockages at the Afsluitdijk, the bridges over the IJssel and the Frisian/Overijssel IJsselmeer ports and no longer issuing transport permits. This caused a hunger disaster of catastrophic proportions in the western Netherlands.
