@aidavillegas8052 I find that even regular printer paper is costly. The thermal rolls are a good value amzn.to/4bFY7AA and they work just as well as the folding sheets.
@@Sew-Happy thank you. I had always understood that you're supposed to reduce the measurement on the binding of necklines and armholes when working with knits to they keep like their shape. But I guess it depends on the stretchiness of each fabric
@@EmilyQ458 yes, I think the difference here is that we’re binding the edges instead of creating bands. So, we’re just using the existing stretch of those bodice edges. You can try reducing the length of the bands, even if only for the most curved spots.
Thanks for making that top, i normally wear top like that, and never imagined to be able to make my own, plus, sometimes i see a fabric, or outfit that i can recycle, and this will be a good option.👍
Hi I’m wondering if you can give me some input. I bought a thermal printer in the hopes it’d be an easier and faster way to print sewing patterns. I’m extremely new to sewing in general so I’m worried about messing up. Anyways my main reason in looking for help is bc when printing the test pages for one pattern, the size box (2inx2in) was exactly a centimeter off. I tried looking it up how to fix it and printing again a different way with the same result. I tried a different pattern 2inx2in test box as well, and that one came out a few centimeters bigger. I’m just unsure if I move forward and print the whole pattern ignoring the test box, if it’ll affect the actual size of the clothes I’m trying to make. Please help if you can, I’d really appreciate it 😊🙂↕️
👋 congrats on the thermal printer - I do enjoy the convenience of mine 🎉 Here is what it says on the Tiana’s Closet pattern page regarding printer scale sizes: “Please note that some printers may not print to scale, even when set to 100%. For example, I’ve found that my HP laptop prints smaller than expected, so I have to scale it to 103% to get the correct size. If you notice a similar issue with your printer, try scaling up slightly.” This being said, I never pay attention to this scale box 😂 and I’ve never had any great issue with sizing
@ thank you for the reply!! I guess I’ll just have to go for it! It’s good that technically speaking we can always just start over and size up a bit haha. The video is also a big help just watching you work and learning for myself. Thanks again 🥰
@@Sew-Happyactually if you’re able to help me one more time I’m desperate… I swapped my roll paper (which works like normal) to the fold paper. I put it in correctly and everything but for some reason it’s 1 not starting at the top of the page (think 1/3 of the way down), 2 if I manually adjust the paper to print from the top it won’t automatically print the second/third page etc on its own, it stops half way down the next page (after the fold point) and doesn’t continue printing. I tried messaging customer support and they haven’t gotten back to me. Have you had this issue? 😢
Did you let it complete the printing? It will sink down 1/3, but then work the paper back up to start at the top. I thought that was funny too, but it prints correctly.
@ I did. I’ve tried leaving it alone to let it just start where it wants, adjusted it to start where it should be, looked for the “printer calibration, made sure the rollers were clean etc. but none of that worked and I have to print one page at a time and manually reset the paper from the top every time. Not sure what else to do 😤😩😮💨
This really helps
🥰 great!!
Wow the printer is so nice and the price is reasonable. Thanks for the info. This top could be worn so often on these hot summer days.
Thank you! Great little device.
Que buen dispositivo para imprimir bien práctico 🎉 Gracias por compartir 🤠
@@aurarivas4684 🥰 my pleasure
Thanks for this tutorial.
💕 thanks for watching
Interesting printer! thank you for another great pattern and sew along :) pretty sure i got enough fabric to make this one lol
😊 thanks - yes, definitely a great low-yardage project
Nice top and Lots of good tips! A printer without ink?!!! 😃
Thank you ☺️ yes, it prints via heat transfer 🤩
@@Sew-Happy sound amazing! Is the paper too expensive for printing patterns?

Thanks for this demo! I saw these printers but wasn’t sure how good they were for pdf patterns.
I was a little skeptical at first, but it proved to be super easy and practical. The pattern pieces are just as sturdy as my typical printer paper. 📄
Hi, one question. The pattern includes the measurements for each binding for the different sizes?
@@EmilyQ458 it doesn’t specify the binding measurements. I measured the neckline and armholes and made my binding the same length.

@@Sew-Happy thanks a lot, that makes sense
Can you please put on your list the new Tiana's closet pattern pleaseeee🤗. It is the Lorena ruffle blouse.
I did see that! 👀 👍
@@Sew-Happy 👍🤗
Ma'am, this printer. I need it!!!
@@maryfields877 right?! It’s pretty amazing

@MS-mr4li good idea to upcycle some old clothes! 🎉
