I know a house stricken by wisteria to crumble down. It was near my house about 50m away, and the house owner loved the beautiful flowers of wisteria. So he decided to plant the tree in front of his house, cared it so much. But the tree started to stretch out its branches to embrace the whole house while its roots began to elongate to reach the bottom of the house. The house was completely surrounded by wisteria and blocked. At last the owner gave up his house and left. He tried to sell his house, buy it wasn't sold for many years due to the trees. Finally he managed to sell the house for largely discounted price. And new owner wanted to eradicate the tree, but it was almost impossible. He first, cut off the trunk and removed all branches circling around the house, but the tree didn't die, its roots was still alive. And the roots was so deeply penetrated into the soils, it was almost impossible to rid the roots nor kill them. To get rid of all remaining roots, the new owner should dig ground more than 1m deep all around the house. It was nightmare. To remove the tree, he had to demolish the whole house first cause it's roots were deeply stuck beneath the house, and even without branches and trunk they survived and even reproduced new branches onto the ground. It became forsaken house and land due to the wisteria.
