15 Plants For Shade [My Favourites]

These plants are perfect for growing in shaded gardens. I've included some trees and large shrubs, as well as annuals for pots and containers and also some perennials for borders.
Whether your garden is north-facing or the sun is blocked by trees or buildings, these plants are for you as they all thrive in very little light.

Thanks so much for this excellent list!
One note, though: a photo of Leucojum 5:42 (summer snowflake) snuck into the section on snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis).
I think we can safely say, though, these do well in partial shade also!
