I remember telling my husband and my sister about your pineapples grown from store bought organic pineapples, and how you did it. That first video I saw of you demonstrating how you save the tops of the pineapple, with the green leaves, and get roots growing really impressed me. And when you showed the attached greenhouse where you grow them in, and showed the multiple pineapple plants growing, and the beautiful fruit it was producing, and your description of the pineapple smell permeating the air, and how you have succession planted them... and also your ingenuity in the watering system you set up in there, I was just amazed!! You guys have really made sure that you have a wide variety of produce/food that you grow there, and that's going to keep you and Miss Wanda healthy. Your "can-do" approach and attitude is contagious! I talk about your yt channel/videos all the time. I've learned so much from you both, and want to thank you for the knowledge you share.
"Survival Seeds", would love 💕 to have a variety of Survival Seeds to plant some self-sufficiency! (saw on Miss Wanda's recent video of her Queen Dome and your High Tunnel).

My peas are on a 6 year rotation. No germination problems. Seeds are dried in the pods part of winter until shatter, then shelled, still air drying, the rest of winter. Before spring gets going (humidity), I put them up into old brown jars, and bottles, with screw on lids. The jars have stayed indoors in climate controlled air many years now,, but the jarred seeds didn't seem to suffer from heat or humidity in a previous warm humid home. It's a 6 year rotation because I keep trialing a few other varieties that are new to me.
This year it's Piggott, which so far give long huge pods, good disease and pest resistance, with thick good quality peas. In the year's droughty, baking, burning, messy weather too. Tried and true number 1, still seem to be the Pinkeye Purplehull though, for overall flavor. Sucking bugs are a nightmare on them though, and so many wasps, hornets and jackets just covering them all day long. Hope to one day get the seeds I'm saving to be better with all that, by being selective about the plants and the pods.
The ones I'm trialing, still packaged by the seed grower or seller, often stay in an airtight container for years, before I get around to giving them their year. All do great, provided they get watered a good bit/don't get sun baked first couple days. To me, spring starts the first day I need to hit the salt shaker, hard, in my hand. Winter tends to mean the popcorn kernels keep the salt flowing without all that banging. We keep our potatoes in thick cardboard boxes, inside the modern garage fridge. Keeps them in eating condition all year long, and often longer. Not sure if that would work with the old humid fridges.
Glad I watched this. Getting caught up and wasn't too sure about a pineapple video, but that excitement was fun to see, and the pineapples are beautiful. :) (Plus not all about pineapple!) Don't get me wrong, when I've had quality pineapple it's delicious. Just without a real greenhouse of some sort I don't see that particular delicacy in our future. Lemons, grapefruit and lime trees will be in all the winter protected spaces anyway, seems like. Currently they struggle in the garage with bad light, and being hauled in and out all winter. Shame we don't like any of the winter hardy citrus. So now I'm looking forward to your squeezed in massive pineapple greenhouse upcoming project! Haha I doubt you'd regret building it, and having way more pineapples per year.

I'm new to your channel and so happy I found you! I have been learning a lot from your seemingly boundless knowledge. As much as you love pineapples, Danny, a greenhouse full of them would be great! I understand finding room for one could be a problem because my husband and I only have one acre. Soon our property will be full of nothing but plants and animals. My husband mentioned putting up another greenhouse, but where? 😆. I know since watching this video, my next plant will be pineapple, thanks to you! It will be a great source of vitamin C when there's none left in the stores. Of course, Survival Garden Seeds will be great for next year's garden since some of our plants didn't survive the heat. Although we are starting over on some things because our first frost isn't until October 31st. Thank you both for making my day better! God bless you in all you do!❤️

As a Queenslander in the suptropics who literally drops the head of the pineapple in the dirt when i harvest one, and 12 months later i'm picking more pineapples... i'd say definitely do another greenhouse, but plant in ground or in raised beds.
Put bananas in the middle of the hot house, and a couple of sapotes or other tropicals that love the heat. They'll share a bed happily, and once thickened up, the pineapples will protect the trees' roots in winter.
Pineapple is great for chesty coughs, dried is good chewing in winter, and candied has summer wrapped up in a little bliss bomb.
Danny, have you looked into cayenne pepper for heart remedies? There's a few country doctors around here that still approve of it over chemical synthesised medications for the heart. It may also assist reducing inflammation in your knee. ❤️

We live in Minnesota almost in Canada, Ely Minnesota next to the Boundary Waters. Beautiful country, cold winters and short summers. The land we bought was a farm over 30 years ago so there is meadows in amongst the trees that we a restoring that we’re going to garden in. Those pineapples are beautiful! Looking forward to one of your helpful videos on how to grow them! And I agree with other commenters that a tropical foods greenhouse, so-to-speak, would be a wonderful addition to your homestead and a new teaching environ too! We are in the Deep South but further east closer to the Atlantic Coast with a sandier soil on our property, but not as close as you all. We also are attempting to lower our ph for certain plants (like blueberries which are strugggggggling) and increase our potassium which is low..without raising the ph more! So much to learn and way-past middle age doing so! We don' grow as much as y'all do, as just more settled in a place and time in life that we can make "bigger" attempts at doing so...BUT are TRYING and learning as we go (and I wish we had learned more from grands and my MIL in particular about growing more of our own food!). QUESTION...are you having issues with seed germination in this heat for round two of growing (since we have a long growing season) ????

Growing pineapples sure does take up a lot of space, but it must be worth it because of the smile on your face! So, yeah go for it! Add building a pineapple greenhouse to the to-do list. 🍍
I planted some organic ginger I purchased at Walmart about a week ago + and I have 5 or 6 sprouts! I'm so excited. I guess I'll have to bring it inside when the weather cools. I didn't think it through. I guess because I didn't think it would root and sprout so easily. I drink a lot of ginger tea because eases my migraines. Well, it does sometimes, but you have to have ginger every day. Homegrown ginger should be awesome! 🌻
The Survival Garden Seeds would be put to good use around here, but honesty mostly next year as I'm north of you, so you may want to consider that. 🌱

The pineapples always seem to make you both so happy. I decided long ago that I always need to make room for plants that may not be the most practical, but they bring me joy. You have the Survival Garden Seeds and you have the things you grow that just make life happier!

Hi Danny: I may have posted this message on a different video of yours but if not I want to tell you about my pineapples here in S.E. Louisiana. We have been growing them for years and bring them inside over the winter. Last year we built a greenhouse and I kept them in there. With the temps being 100 plus the plants exploded in growth! This year we got a 5 pound pineapple!!!! The only other difference other than the higher temps was I fertilized them with Mittlieder fertilizer mixed in with 13-13-13.

We would love to have Survival Garden Seeds. We are late bloomers, didn't really start gardening till we got in our sixties. Have learned so much from you guys! This year we are growing red rippers, pink eyes and speckled butter beans. We love us some field peas!

My husband James and I have watched you and Danny faithfully. I’m so glad you all got some rain the other day. Our garden hasn’t done very well at all this year. We got our bigger greenhouse up but it was later this season. Would appreciate the chance to get your seed packets.

That smile! Get another greenhouse. Call it Pineatopia! I would love a Survival Seed vault! Canning and drying as much as we can here in Texas. Pray for rain for us.

Enjoying your videos, Wanda and Danny. 😀 I bet that Pineapple was delicious! Here in Southern Missouri, we're definitely struggling with growing a garden. Spring was too wet and chilly. Then we moved into extreme drought and heat. Pest pressure is unbelievable: deer, birds, squirrels, armadillos, rabbits, tomato hornworm, Japanese beetles, stink bugs, blister beetles, cabbage worms, ... Very discouraging. Survival Garden seeds would be so appreciated and give some hope for next year! 👍

Build another greenhouse. You have all of these beautiful pineapples-got to keep them going! Wonderful! Wish I had a pineapple like they instead of the store kind. You are so blessed!

I received a pineapple plant with a pineapple on it for MotheRs Day from my Stepson and his wife and it had a baby plant that came up on the side of it. I transplanted it and it’s growing good, I need to transplant the mother plant soon! Y’all’s are beautiful ❤️, thanks for sharing!

What do you do with the pineapple? Eat it! Yummy goodness! Danny, you seem happier than I’ve ever seen you. We don’t have any pineapple growing but we definitely have a beautiful first garden ever this year. I’ve learned a lot from Deep South Homestead, Hollis and Nancy, Bumble Bee Junction and LDS Prepper, then I pray over it and ask Heavenly Father to bless our efforts and he has, glory to God! I’m very grateful to Him, and all of you that have taught me well.

Survival garden seeds would be so nice to add to my meager seed stash. I’m in the Florida Panhandle and I have a very small greenhouse, so I am able to grow something year round. The seeds would not go to waste! Thanks for the opportunity!

Tonight’s viewing of your video was amazing. Everything looks so lush. My garden burned up with that Extreme heat. I’ve planted again but out of 5 rows I have 3 seeds coming up. 😫 don’t know if it’s the heat or seeds. I could use a pack of Survival Harvest Seeds. Thank y’all for your graciousness. God bless y’all abundantly.

I have some pineapple tops growing as well! I’m not expecting anything but we’ll see. I would love to have the homesteaders vault. You are so lucky being sent seeds. The seeds I purchased from the big box stores didn’t germinate very well. Neither did the stowell corn. Many blessings to you both!

First time commenter but my son and I watch all your videos. You have taught us so much about gardening. Everything from raising sweet potatoes slips to the flash drought which I agree with 100%. We would love to be able to grow pineapples someday and with y’all’s videos, maybe we may be able too. Oh’ also mentioning the Survival Garden Seeds for my 9 year old son. He would love them.
