Benign - 1) Osteo-chondroma - which age group has cartilage ? Under 25 yo males. Lateral Bony swelling in metaphysis of long bones, covered by cartilage (hence the chon in name). This is most common benign tumor (osteo common droma) 2) Osteoma - simplest oma. Remember simple middle aged people doing yoga in garden, saying "osteooooma". Associated with gardener syndrome. Facial bone affected (you can tell someones age by their face). Sensation of sinus pressure in face. 3) Osteoid osteoma - Not osteoma, as it has osteoid in it (black nodule in cortex of long bone 5:41, easy). Again under 25 male. Gives them night pain relieved by NSAIDs. 4) Osteo-blastoma - exact same as osteoid osteoma except - pain not relieved by NSAIDs (blasted with pain), and location is vertebra. 5) Chondroma - in medulla of small bones like hands and feet 6) Giant cell tumor - in 20-40 yr olds, in epiphysis of long bones. Giant cell arise from bone marrow. Mononuclear Rank-L expressing cells. Soap bubble in X-ray 8:50, easy (if you drop the soap, or you get something giant LMAO) Malignant - 1) Osteo-sarcoma - young teen males. Metaphysis of long bones. Osteo-staroma ~ i.e. sun bursting appearance in xray 10:41, easy. Risk factors (weird) = retinoblastoma, pagets disease and radiation. 2) Chondro-sarcoma - in medulla of pelvis 3) Ewing-sarcoma - white boys under 15. Diaphysis of long bones. t(11,22) translocation. Pathology - Small blue cells that resemble lymphocytes. Onion skin in xray 13:13, not easy (Ew onions)
Osteo"Dark"oma .... Sun left ..*Retina not work .. *teens can't go out -Sunburst -lift periosteum -Retinoblastoma -Peek in teenagers -it is Malignant and Dark ;)
For osteosarcoma: Page boy Metodi Fraumeni gets a Sunburst into his eyes M. Paget, Boys, Methaphysis, Li-Fraumeni Syndrome, Sunburst appearance, Eyes = RB
After experiencing pain in my left Femur since June 2021, back in November it got so bad I could no longer sleep at night and could barely walk in the mornings…. I finally went to the doctor and they said my imaging is consistent with “ Giant Osteoid Osteoma “ it’s an osteoid osteoma that’s 6 inches on the surface of my femur, the pain is un describable. I literally want to scream, 5 minutes after taking Ibuprofen or Naproxen, the pain disappears 100%. Awaiting surgery to get it removed, I cannot wait to be pain free without taking pills!!!! I was 24 when I first noticed it.

I had a weird question on Uworld where the patient was experiencing pain that was not responsive to NSAIDs but osteoblastoma was not an option, the answer ended up being osteosarcoma. I annotated in FA but a guess a hint for others is OsteoSarcoma can have pain not relieved by NSAIDs as well
Amazing as always! Just another Ewing memory aid for any Star Wars fans out there: Ewing sounds like E-Wing which is a blue spaceship similar to the X-wing fighters the rebels use against the empire. So many small blue cells (a squad of E-wings) resembling lymphocytes (or immune system fighters)!
Can you make a video on different disorders of sex chromosomes such as Turner and Klinefelter as well disorders of sexual development such as Androgen Insensitivity Sydrome next? Thank youu!!
This maybe a lil bit of a stretch but we can remember Ewing’s translocation by the EW in Ewing, if you flip the W it looks like a 33, sooo... t(11,22) ... 11+22= 33 I know... it’s a stretch
I wonder what engineers the translocation? Not an MD, but my nephew just passed from Ewings. 26 y old; from sx to passing, 6 months--despite chemo, radiation and 2 spine surgeries. Devastating
There are three parts of bone Epiphysis nearest to joint Metaphysis between epiphysis and diaphysis Diaphysis is shaft. What you are talking about is epiphysial plate /growth plate which is not present in adults but is present in child between epiphysis and metaphysis

The ways in which you organize your videos and provide mnemonics are 100% better than I've seen elsewhere. I appreciate you! Please keep it coming!!
I'm just a simple guy. I see a Dirty Medicine video. I watch it. Thank you my dude

half way through the video, and just want to say one thing, I love you
I have nothing to do with medicine or biology but I still find it pretty fascinating..
Nice you avoided all the student loans.
😂😂😂😂@@sdiofjsoidjf
Chon=cartilage, most common
OsteOOMA in GARDen
Osteoid osteOHma=oh, that feels good
OsteoBlasted with pain
Drop SOAP, u will get GIANT surprise
damn that last one had me XD
ew, an onion
He said not to drop it 😂
"dont drop the soap or else you will get a giant suprise " LAMO
The peak moment of dirty medicine 😌
what does it mean though??
English is my second language , could you mind to explain it to me please.
@@amaralishah1322 ما يحتاج يا شيخ عمار
@@galazio8123 can you say it in English please
@@amaralishah1322 it is better not to know it’s dirty
Remember!
Homer Wright pseudorosettes are found in pNET(primitive neuroendocrine tumor), which includes Ewing's Sarcoma
Thank you! Also remember giant cell tumor is the only one that presents on epiphysis!
Giant cell tumor is the only bone tumor more common in females and the only one that goes on to present till the age of 40
Bone tumors that arise in the epiphysis: giant cell tumor, clear cell chondrosarcoma & chondroblastoma
Rudy Luna, you need to modify your comment.
Absolutely love your mnemonics. I feel like I can read First Aid and Pathoma but it won’t stick til I watch your videos!
superrrr helpful and informative, being a med student nothing is more relieving than getting a gud teacher , thankuh Sir
I have been diagnosed with having a bone tumour on my right ankle after rolling my ankle walking back to my car.
for Osteoid Osteoma-> think of a guy in relief after pain(response to NSAIDs) saying "Ohh Ohh" /sigh of relief

Also Osteoid I think steroid and think NSAID
you could also just say "osteoSUNcom" for sunburst appearance of osteosarcoma!
This was amazing. now I feel confident with the exam I'll be writing on Monday. (today is Saturday)😊😊😊😊
Hope you do great. God bless!
Osteo-v-lastoma: found in vertebra
Osteoid osteoma: has -ID in it, so NSAID responsive.
thanks d
God bless you so much for this video. Seriously.
The soap mnemonic made my scream laughing 😭😂I’ll never forget this thank you 🙏
Amazing video, really helped me mentally sort everything out, thank you!!
10:46 is a Sunburst because it looks like the bony growth are like the solar flares I see it now after watching this video 4 times xD
Your videos have been sooooo helpfull! But the 'malignant' tumors not being the red colored ones is INSANE to me lol
😂
Exactly
I wasn’t gonna say it… lolol
I expected you to go with "OsteoSUNcoma" but nope right to "Suckoma" lolol
You’re the Goat 🐐. Thank You 🙏🏾

It's really amazing sir 👏thank you for making the bone tumor more easy ✨
For sunburst I remember that the sun burst and it blasted your eyes (retinoblastoma)

This is life-saving!! Thank you so much!

Thanks great vid . I think chondrosarcoma is kinda high yield because I've seen it in multiple Qbanks (especially it's histology)
yes it's .. actually I think it's the most high-yield bone tumor
Thank you for the video❤
I always think of osteosarcoma as osteoSTARcoma
You are the best...studying has become easy since I met you😘
thank you for reuploading this!!!

Really great review on Bone Tumors!
Osteosarcoma looks more like a firework than a sunburst on the X-ray

I cannot even begin to phatom his mnemonics on this one XD

sarcoma = malignant, in this case
In any case , that hold true . Sarcoma means malignant connective tissue tumor
