MATCHBOX Restoration No 16c Scammell Mountaineer Snow Plough 1964
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лис 2018
- I got this snow plough in a job lot of messed up cars. I had my eye on this one as I thought that it was a nice looking model with stunning contrast with it's colours. The large white and orange snow blade made it a unique, stand out show piece, that would look great in my collection of restored vehicles.
Another Matchbox Lesney model restored to near new condition.

Remote control tank in background is a very nice touch, made me smile when it drove past in garden
Haha, was going to write the same thing.
I had to rewind the video to make sure I wasnt hallucinating hah
yeah makes it more fun to watch haha
Then you read on the news paper of the video: "Tank rampage: stolen 57-ton vehicle leaves ruin in its track..." (11:08)
Love the look of that snow plow. Best model yet. Tank you for the video
Never apologize for repeating your process, Marty. That's what a lot of us are here for. We enjoy watching it!
I welcome the comment, thanks.
Marty never receives enough TANKS for his work...
Ha Ha! Chris! - Goood onee!
You are indeed an ace mechanic for vintage Matchboxes.
Thanks mate, i did enjoy doing this model as it is so fancy with the stripey snow blade!
You're my favorite matchbox restorer sir, and you are quite the film maker. Well done!
Cheers mate!

I see what you did there Marty ;D
Hope you liked it.
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers I loved it. I literally clapped my hands and laughed out loud.
You beat me to it!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers I scared my dog when I LoL'd and woke the poor guy up.
and you forget the newspaper article about a tank rampage
I have had a couple of hours of enjoyment watching you passionately and skillfully restore these old Matchbox cars. When I was a child I collected Matchbox cars and had somewhere in the range of 400 plus cars. The cars were given away by a family member without my permission and I lost them forever. Watching you restore these precious little toys has been fascinating and quite the trip down memory lane. Thank you so much!
You deserve an Academy Award.
Feel free to nominate me for one. :D
Many tanks for an excellent video.
RPM, THAT PUN STUNK!!!
@@chrismayer3919 That's why it's very punny.
Haha!
I lol'd when the tank just came by 😂😂😂
Some people have cats....
@@fraidykat Yea but tanks don't crap on the carpet.
I love your show, when I was a kid I used to collect matchbox cars. When I watch you resurrect these models it reminds me of my childhood. Thanks for good memories sir.
I'm tankful for an awesome new video! You blow me away every time! You tread lightly where most dare not!
Top job again Marty. When I get old decals I always give them a quick going over with some clear coat. Saves them exploding with the water buddy.....looking forward to the next Instalment
Marty, you are also my favorite Matchbox car restorer. This snowplow came out beautifully. Waiting impatiently for the next one! Thank you for what you do.
Thanks Pops52, please be patient there will definately be more!
Much more fun watching your video than working. Thanks again.
Glad to hear that you are having fun watching my video.
The plow blade stripes came out great! Good save!! Tanks for the camo cameo!
Anyone else very relaxed and very sleepy after watching?
Yes me! - I was up all day and all night to make this happen!
Marty's Matchbox Makeovers and we are all grateful for the effort you put in Marty! Keep them coming please :)
That's why I watch these after a night shift. Id like 'em anyway, but the slightly stoned feeling is a bonus.
Actually I was getting a little drowsey ...... then a fecking great tank went and mullahed it!
@@paulgeare6035 The tank has been there all along though. Watching. Judging you. Waiting for the right moment.
Tanks very much.
great video.i had one of these lorries in 1965 at school.they were to play with in the flower beds. at 66 years old I now have 3 of them on the mantle piece at home
That's great! - Thank you for watching
God you send me back to my childhood. Most of the cars I have watched you restore I had as a kid and played with them for hours. Thanks for what you do.
Cheers Marty. Your Videos really help with my PTSD. I really appreciate the amount of effort and skill you put into your programmes. Keep up the good work, mate.
Glad to hear that you are getting something out of my videos. More to come.
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers I love your sense of humour. Toothbrush, Tank, Outtakes et al. The reason for my interest in your show? My brother bought all these Matchbox toys when we were little kids. He never took them out of the box to play with them. They now live in my Display Cabinet - still unopened and "Mint-In-Box". (I can not bring myself to open the boxes). In short, despite now owning the originals, I have never actually seen them - other than from the Box Artwork. Seeing them on your show in such fascinating detail is just wonderful. As a keen, lifelong modeller myself, I really appreciate the challenges you face in restoring these little classics. I am looking forward to your next restoration. Best Wishes.
Wow your paint job on the blade was fantastic. Another great vid and restoration. I always look forward 2 your vids. Thanks marty
Thank you for watching
Got to love Tamiya tape
@Doingo The Clown Troll-tastic. Prick.
I love that Marty NEVER skips any of the steps even though we see some of them in every video
I'm Canadian and I can remember actually plowing snow on my parents' front door step. OK, so it took a few hours, but it actually did plow the snow!
10:12 Tank you.
10:32 Tank you again.
16:12 Tank you very much.
17:14 Tanks for the memory.
Tanks for another entertaining and informative video Marty keep putting out the awesome work.
This one was the king of my car collection when I was little.. It took anything anywhere for years until the sad day when it was stolen and crashed to crumbs.. Still today, I'm looking around on markets to make it come back home..
I’d love to see your collection!
Another Damn outstanding, brilliant and funny video!!! Seriously can't get enough of your vids!!! Hope you never stop!
Edit: that Damn tank 😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome comment, thank you sooo much!!
NO! I thought it was funny, don't edit it!!!!
Abby Louise Rexroth I'm not telling him to edit it, I edited my comment, cause I didn't mention the tank in my original post
Great save on that snowplow! Great job as always Marty! Cheers!,..... Alan
Thanks for watching and commenting Alan.
Came to this channel for the trucks and buses, stayed for the lovely mood and craftsmanship. Keep them coming Marty, you're doing a wonderful job! I would love to see your collection of restored vehicles one day in real scale (played with using hands, unzoomed, to be able to grasp the real scale).
I am amazed how these old castings can convey the essence of the car so well yet they are kept simple, few parts.
I would recommend that you start with the paint stripper first, but then follow up with the sand blaster, as the two may help with the final product. Been noticing that on a few, there was tiny bits of paint left over in nooks and very hard to get corners.
that was my thought too.
Jak Silver right? It does the job well, and I think the quality of the sandblaster may not be the best. Wish is cheap, but not the best of quality products.
I wondered what the hell it was that crept past while you were test fitting the screw but then I saw the spray booth newspaper headline, very funny. That was a water slide transfer nightmare, what caused that? The snow blade looked great in the end. Loved the outtake of you trying to cut the axle, they certainly made them kid proof. This is a beautiful model, one of my favourites so far and a great addition to your collection. Loving these vids, keep em coming and thanks.
Thanks T6 comments like that show that people like yourself have a genuine interest in what I do, it makes it all worthwhile and I thank you for your support,
Old decals. I am a railroad modeler, and it happens a LOT. Decal film breaks down over just a few years. Sometimes you can coat them with a bit of acrylic varnish first, and they will hold together. Most of the time, when they start cracking apart... throw them out. It isn't worth the hassle if possible. For some reason, Microscale decals seem particularly prone to this.
@@manda60 Ugh, I had that happen with my Microscale decals years ago. I ended up throwing them all out.
@@manda60 I did not know that! Thanks for the info.
T6
What T6 said I would say the same
The outtakes are just like how I feel when I'm working on my car, then I like to act that it went completely smoothly after it's done. I'm glad I found your channel
I really like watching these videos. I wish I had these as a resource when I was a kid and building plastic models. I'll probably never do this myself, but find watching the videos addictive.
They just get better. Great stuff, cheers!
Late night, woke this morning, another Marty video!
Eyes wide open! Where’s the coffee?
Beauty! Scammel snow plough!
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it.
This thing looks better than when it was new, awesome job.
This one was in a very bad state and turned out magnificent. A joy to watch the result slowly appear.
Brilliant work Marty. Thought we were going to have to wait for a replacement decal. I have this snow removal truck in my collection. Love the tank idea! Keep up the good work, take care.
Thanks Marty, Marty.
Marty, great video!
The painted snow plow looks so much better than the decals... awesome job
This model was my first Match Box car in 1964. Thanks for a great video. I still have mine.
Nice job Marty. It looks great!
That random tank tho! 😂 like a tortoise on steroids!! 💯😏👍🏼
Beautiful job Marty, that was my favorite matchbox truck when I was a kid in the 60's. Well done!
One of mine too - Loved the orange and grey combo.
Love the tank rumbling around in the background plus Tank clue on the newspaper.
Great stuff, old model!
hi from Canada, 4:10 , 10:12, 16:13 electric Tank Rampage ? loll
yes i have noticed
Excellent, as usual. Thank you for inspiring all of us.
Thanks mate.
Gotta love the tank! Great restoration!!!
Dare I say your best one yet, Marty? I hope it wasn't your wife controlling the tanks just because you
'inadvertently' used her toothbrush previously! Fancy running over the finished product!
Thank you. I hope i'm slowly getting better. ( BTW It was a 'Stunt Truck' the restored one was not damaged).
Qué buen trabajo y qué buen vídeo! Saludos desde Colombia, sur América
Thank you for your support. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia,
@@PabloDiablo682 should be greetings from COLOMBIA south America. THX for your try
@@PabloDiablo682 I would like to improve my english. And I can teach you spanish. Contact me if you want.
That blade turned out way better than the sticker ever could have. Much more authentic looking. As always, I love your videos.
Nice job. Glad to see fingers healed from the last one and no new injuries!!
Just in time for winter.
Tank sneaking by twice LOL
This restoration does my heart good. I had that one brand new and broke the blade off. It didn't stand up in normal play very well. One of your nicest restorations. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Rob, this little model is one of my all time favourites, the colours and design make it stand out from the usual buses and cars.
As always the bladed dump truck is utterly fantastic, the return of the tank is a cute touch. Thank you
Jajajajaja! The tank!
Bellissimo
I really enjoy the Easter eggs, like the tank stor6 on the news paper, after seeing the tanks.
My dad used to buy me a matchbox model, back in the day, if I was good (rarely)!
You are certainly a man of rare skill.
Thanks for sharing this interesting and nostalgic restoration series, Marty.
I think there's a tank rampage in your yard.
Yet more Matchbox awesomeness! I wonder whether the decal would’ve been manageable with a light coat of laquer before it went into the water?
I think that decal was destined for yhr bin!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers Well, it turned out very well with the paint. Better than the decal!
Another winner winner chicken dinner. Quite simply, Marty is one of the best UA-camrs out there.
I never get to finish watching your videos all the way throw without falling asleep because of the music and your calming voice.
The tank crash at the end ruined my comment: hate to break this to you, but it looks like Putin has you surrounded with Russian tanks.😂😂😂 That shovel looks amazing.😁
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment Carl.
The air compressor is not the problem, the problem is the sand blaster, because it is purchased from wish. Wish is a very well known website that sell very low quality products.
So true. :(
l love it when new ideas are tried!
There is nothing better than unbiased, frank opinions about the pluses and minuses of a given product (Hobby Sand Blaster). Thank you, Marty, for your valued input and ANOTHER beautiful makeover (including the tank attack)!
I have a no47 tipper container truck, unrestored. Do you have one in the works to show? Hope 2c it.
I've already done one but it was before I started filming my makeovers. I shall prob show in another future video featuring some of my unseen collection.
Look, it's kids driving model tanks over this model that messed it up in the first place - please grow up (my Dad told me to tell you that - he's busy racing cars down the roof).
Had to chuckle at the tank in the background.
I don't collect Matchbox, but I cannot stop watching your videos.
The plow blade stripes turned out great!
There's just something statisfying in watching those caring hands fixing those toys
Good trick with the tape on the drill bit
I keep expecting these to be boring but each one has many things to make it unique. Between the beauty of the original model, Marty's painstaking attention to detail and craftsmanship and the odd B plots, each of the videos is wonderful and I end up looking for the next one. Will be sad when I've exhausted them and have to wait for the notification there's a new one.
Awesome job on the plow. I very much enjoy all your videos.
Very enjoyable video. Really like watching you bring these old trucks back to life.
Brave of you to proceed with your video with such raging conflict going on around you, testament to your commitment that you would persevere even in wartime, I take great comfort from this
Great restoration Marty
Thank you
"Tank Rampage Here" headline on newsprint covering paint booth. Nice touch!
I had one just like this, the plow broke off in a short time of playing with it as a child! Good job on fixing it.
I've never restored or had interest in restoring these cars, but I just can't get enough of these videos. I was exited when i saw a new video out today. Keep them coming.
I love watching your restorations another great video and job on the matchbox👍
Cheers Pete.
Honestly in my opinion from viewing other restoration videos Marty, yours are by far the most professional, funny and amazing work.
I love the restoration and especially love the tank humor.
As the comedian Bob Hope was fond of saying; "Tanks , for the memories!"
Beautiful work Marty . These restorations are so charming. Thank you.
Imo the painted plow stripes look perfect on this model . Well done.
this model is my absolute favorite even tho it did not have an interior. great job on the resto.
Loved the crinkles tank that kept going by . You done a wonderful job on the truck !!
incredible! all your restorations are a real pleasure to watch and learn. I used to play with many of these toys as a kid. Many thanks for the memories.
Your coastguard is a tank??? You are important guy!!!! Kkkkkk Very good job! TKS for share us.
You are welcome, thank you.
Great video of an expertly completed restoration. I especially enjoy seeing these, as I had virtually everyone of the Matchbox toys you restore when I was a child back in the 1960s.
The tank crossing the lawn and then the headline “tank rampage” on the newspaper was genious!!!! Ahahahaha!
Total Awesomeness Marty...
Thank’s...
Thank you.
Outstanding renovation. This is one of my faves so far. Colors are great and the blade came out superb. I made my wife and daughter watch the E-type Jaguar remake and they tolerated it, which is the best I could hope for. BRAVO!
