An MLB record
Koji was elite in 2013! I genuinely miss seeing him pitch.
He was absolutely more amazing than people realize, and if you weren't a Sox fan you missed an amazing season. For perspective, the record for ERA+ is 291 which is held by Pedro Martinez when he had a a1.79 ERA in 2000 and the career best is Mariano Rivera at 205. Koji had an ERA+ of 379 in 2013 (not trying to be Mr. Smarty pants, just a quick google search and baseball-reference).
Koji splitter was amazing
Koji was the only Red Sox reliever that I always had 100% confidence in.
Back then, I thought Koji Uehara was literally the best signing the Red Sox made before the 2013 season. In 2012 with the Rangers, Uehara posted numbers close to 2013 despite missing nearly 3 months with injuries (1.75 ERA and only 3 walks, 4 home runs, and 20 total hits in 36 innings pitched).
My favorite Red Sox team, 2013 was just incredible!
100% I love "The Idiots" of 2004 like most but this became my favorite Sox team. Fear the Beards!
Thank god I was alive for this era of baseball! No better team imo
The Shane Victorino slap hahaha
Koji was by far the best reliever in 2013, it wasnt even close
Koji posted similar numbers the year before he came to the Red Sox. In 2012 with the Rangers, Koji's numbers were a 1.75 ERA, 3 walks, 4 home runs, 20 total hits, and 43 strikeouts in 36 innings. He only pitched 36 innings (37 games) because he missed nearly 3 months with a strained lateral muscle injury.
It's Koji Time! I miss him so much!
Watching this, you realize that Red Sox won the division, the ALDS, the ALCS and the World Series on Koji strikeouts. I wonder if that has happened in MLB history?
Koji didn't have the longevity in the American League to compete for all time glory, but in is day he was the most dominant closer in the world for a few years.
and somehow nobody talks about that he K every last batters XD
What. A. Team. Koji was GREAT
I understand the strikeout of Carpenter being #1 on this list, but my personal favorite was and still is #2 of this list, the pick off of Kolten Wong at 1st base.
The good old days

The Magician.
Nobady hits to Koji "Japanese Sumurai" split.
I hated watching him in 2013. He was too damn good.
Not even a spring chicken. He was 38 in 2013.
ビッグパピをこんなところで見れるとは、、
ワールドシリーズ優勝した後に上原さんを抱えてたの思い出す笑
there is something wrong with the red sox organization, first mookie now xander. They care way to much about money for a team that generates as much as they do
Man imagine if he spent his whole career in the US
Absolutely disgusting splitter
It’s fricking koJi
Pickoff.
He is elite.
Sell the team
You know who else was on the 2013 club? Xander 🤬 Bloom is trash.
