- Trout are available all year in the Appalachian Mountains. Meanwhile, spring kicks off peak trout season from North Georgia to Pennsylvania. To celebrate the start of spring we dug into our Bait Lab files and grabbed a video that reminded us why we got into the bait business in 1934. In this episode of Pautzke Outdoors you'll see that salmon eggs defined why we became a world leader nearly a century ago - and why these same salmon eggs are still a valuable trout bait today.

These fish were specifically put in here for these guys. Fished trout for 30 years and never seen this many big trout in same hole.

I enjoyed the video I just came back from the same place you're at except I fish the big stream it's a whole lot more crowded and a lot more challengingcuz it's at least three times or four times the size of water but it's a good time but it's no mystery spot as everybody below has left in the comments but the big is more challenging than people think the small stream was pretty easy the last time I fished it years ago

Fire Balls are designed for trout. Crappie Fire Balls are designed for crappie. They differ in size.

Yep and they trying to act like it's a regular mountain stream them fish are so dumb I catch them on a gummy worm
@@christopherdavis2810 you're right that's where they're at I just came back from the big section of the river three days ago fishing up there the big stream was about four times that size on a whole lot harder fishingit's funny that used to tell where they were at in the earlier videos if you look back but now they try to keep it like it's a stock stream or something LOL

Why would they announce their location on a public media platform? That’s how spots get ruined.
It's a place called Cedar Springs at Rural Retreat Va. It is a private stocked stream but you can pay about $60.00 to fish for a day with a limit.
@@mjohnston34 it's a pay trout fish stream$60 a dayyou can rent out the small stream there fishing that's why no one else is around or you can fish the big string which is harder and four times the size for the same price it's cedar springs in Rural retreat Virginia wythe county I'm pretty sure I just came back from their fishing the big stream

"nice surprise to find a few of these guys". Yeah, you just stumbled on some remote, wilderness mountain stream and "found" these fish. I'm sure you had no clue there were fish in the stream. Come on. Just be honest. We paid $60 to catch some freshly stocked jumbo pellet heads to make a video promoting our products.

Palomino trout. This is a mutation in the gene pool. As noted they are very easy to see. Therefore, easy to hunt and eat... Meaning not a lot have passed their genes down. The More You Know.....* 🥸
