  • I found a second spot for morels on our land! A few days ago I was out scouting our hillside and found a few more morels. I decided to go over and check around the may apple that is just starting to pop up good. We have it all over our land. But I've heard that the morels like those areas. So I checked and found a new spot. They do look much different from the others on the other hillside. But still morels. In total there I found 15. I didn't take any of them. I found another lone, very smore morel on the other side of another batch of may apple. I will keep an eye out over there in the next few weeks also. We strolled across the glen to the other side to look around the may apples there. Look at all of the violet and purple dead nettle! It's so colorful and beautiful. The camera can never seem to capture how amazing things really are. But I do try my best to capture it the way I want to see it again in the future. There's so much goodness going on in this little field of ours. So, back on to the morel hunt. Up the back far side of our land overlooking the glen. So much goodness grows in this amazing shade. Comfrey, blood root, Solomon seal, all of the flowers and roots. I found mullein! That's the first I have found growing wild. And it's right out in the open. Which is also where we found a small hand full of morel's. These a little bigger than any of the other's so far. And we are somewhere like 220 so far for this season. Maybe our best yet. And now we have three different locations to look! Can't wait! Rains coming!
