- Hey y'all i just wanted to show y'all a day in the life of a CNA. If you are getting a CNA job or thinking about it, i just wanted to show y'all how a normal day goes. Its really important to have a routine or you will defiantly be running around all day long.
Thank you for watching.
I'm about to start working as a med surg CNA next week, loved hearing some more about it!!
What an interesting video! My mom works in the medical field, too and I see her get up as early as 4am! Having a routine definitely helps.
I work at a hospital as well and I love watching all the different CNA videos everyone's routine is so different every where

I’m a CNA as well l! Love seeing this. Subscribed!
This was so neat to see behind the scenes of what you do at your job. Hospitals fascinate me with how much they have going on! Keep it up! 🙌🏼

vivalaj15 it’s gonna be tough at first but eventually it won’t be bad once you get a routine down. Good luck!
Good luck. You got this
2 years later, how is it going lol
Are you still working in med surg?
I worked Med/Surg. And float as a CNA. Loved it! Now I do Home Health, because of my kids, schedule. Which I adore! Love the video btw.😊
What did you do when you would do float at the ER ? I been told is just to be sitters but not sure if that’s true
I just got a cna job on the surgical unit but I’m noc shift . I’m coming from being in a nursing home so hopefully it will be a little calmer and I can learn instead of taking old people to the bathroom all day lol
Very informative. How do you find time to chart? I struggle to get all my charting in.
This was helpful thank you !
How do you feed all the Patients? Let one take a bite and run to the next lol. I am a retired Respiratory Therapist and want to go back to work in the Hospital but not sure what floor I want to work on. I'm going to take the CNA class soon. I have been out of the Hospital for years. I would challenge the test but may not pass the Skills part at this point. Loved the Video!!! Thanks!!
Good job 👏🏾
I'm about to start a job on a med/surg floor I am so nervous this helps alot thanks!
How do you like it?
@@daisycortes312 I don’t I am trying to go back to my old career choice. But don’t let that discourage you it wasn’t the job it’s self I just realized it wasn’t for me.
Hi i'm interviewing at a hospital and first they require an assesment. Do you have any advice what to go over? Thank you!
Greetings From Botswana 🇧🇼 ❤️
Do you give showers? I'm starting a med surg hospital job and would love any tips. I've worked in snf only.
Hi! New Subscriber Looking to support more channels! :) I think it's awsome you did a DITL work video!!
But is it better to be float or to be in med/tech? I get a little nervous being to be offended for first time to work in the hospital.not sure what’s better float or Med/tech department please help base on your experience thank you
Hello
Thanks for the video
Day shift better than nights to you?
I'm wanting to be a patient care technician but it seems is it true you train on a manual bp cuff I have my BLS certification do pct work twelve hours as well just wanted to add a thank you to all healthcare workers thank you to all you do
Yes and usually
Do u give patients baths or just help them to the bathroom
Hi! Just gound your channel. Are there any helpful tips for someone who has never worked as a cna apart from being a srudent nurse aide working at a nursing home.
Please please let me know anything like should i bring a brain sheet take a bunch of notes what are things to prioritize that most peole dont know.
How does one, get a med surge position as a cna /pct ?
More videos please
Thanks
Does a med surge CNA typically earn more than a CNA? Just curious. I just got my license and have to start applying. I don’t have experience either. 😬
I’ve noticed the base starting pay for CNA in an LTC facility is like $13 an hr and for PCT/CNA in med surge starts at $15 which seems to be the cap for LTC/CNA.
I have been a cna for 3 years mostly at long term memory care, I dont have much hospital experience but would LOVE to work at one. I see theres alot of units at hospitals, any suggestions on what unit is not too hard for a newbie? 🙃
Please I would love to know as well 🙂
Being a cna in the emergency department can be much more easier than working on a unit. The cna’s at my hospital er mostly screen and take vitals amongst entry, get urine samples, walk people to their rooms,
Help clean and make up beds in between patients. And working night shift can be much more calming
So is not that bad working at the ER?
@@katsolo605 It can be very overwhelming due to the rising cases of covid. Being short staffed and the waiting rooms being packed can be stressful but I’d rather be a tech/cna in the ER than on a unit. We have a lot of techs/cna’s that come to the ER to get off the floor. Its not as physically draining because you’re not giving baths and lifting heavy linen bags and doing other things you’d typically do if you were a tech on a unit. Everybody is different though.
I just feel nervous over all kind of scary to see all those critical patients but I know I must over come that fear. That’s why I’m confused to see wish one to accept ether Med/tech department or float pool position 🥺please help
Very inretesting...Thanks for sharing ❤ we are your new friend... 😊 Your support and friendship means a lot... 😊 Thanks
Thank you!
Very informational. A future Medsurg nurse researching how I can best assist CNA’s. Do you have suggestions on how nurses can help you do your job more efficiently?
Answer call light not just get the cna do what the patient need instead of looking for a cna
Am interested why a lot of nurses don't like working in Med Surg?
Kimberly, I am 59years old am going to be 60 years soon; do you think the hospital would hire me if I apply. Please put in your two cents. Thk you.❤️
nice
TALIMUSAK gaming thank you!
I’m sorry, dumb question.. lol but what exactly is med surg?? I
Notorious Nia Medical Surgical floor has a wide variety of acute illnesses. It also is a floor that surgery patients come to recover. Basically everyone comes to the floor for anything and everything.
Aw thank you for responding 🥰 I just subscribed keep these videos coming!
What exactly is it that you do with patients? I have gotten offer but I’m kind of scare being not knowing what to expect. Like you said is different from nursing homes like do you see critical care patients?
But is it better to be float or to be in med/tech? I get a little nervous being to be offended for first time to work in the hospital.not sure what’s better float or Med/tech department please help base on your experience thank you
I personally only like med Surg but med Surg is a difficult busy floor and fast pace. If you like to experience a little bit of every floor then a float tech will be best. The hospital I work at you get paid more for floating.
Oh really I am quite scared to work like on ER or ICU like the critical departments I’m a little bit afraid not knowing what to expect since I’m new to this world of the hospital much do you get pay for floating? Like what is the average pay like how can I say oh this is a good pay to accept the offer being that you do so much.
@@katsolo605 yeah I only get paid 9 dollars an hour lol. I’d say it just depends on where you live. Just know you’ll never get paid what you should. Once you get use to it, the ER and ICU will be just like any other floor. You’ll just see different things but it’ll all pretty much be the same. Most people prefer other floors over Med/Surg.
Omg that’s way to low pay I live in California so when they call me I hope they offer a good payment cause it don’t sound easy working in hospitals I also got offered in a senior leaving paying $25 hourly. So I hope I make the good decisions when hospitals call to offer me the job. Even though I’m scared but I would like to learn many things.
I lived med/surg. Then they started floating me. 🤦🏻♀️but I liked it.
Loved I meant
