    The spontaneous casters (Shaman, Sorcerer) are my favorites. So flexible, and their level ups are always the most exciting, because you get to choose their spells.
    Ive found a bug however with these type of casters in the Enhanced Edition, and that is that their chosen spells sometimes spill over into the spellbooks of you other party members.
    For instance my mage character suddenly had a few shaman spells (divine) in her spellbook. I could memorize them but when cast nothing happened. So yeah, that clutter in the spellbook was just a bit annoying and something to be aware of. Luckily, just a cosmetic bug afaik.

    Basic fighter instead of a dwarver defender or a barb? That is a missed opportunity - the ee adds a bunch of classess that are way better than the vanilla ones.

    I'm playing this for the first time. Never played more than the beginning of Baldur's Gate. I went with the starter team and my mage has 4 health and doesn't seem able to wear armor. Dies pretty quickly. Ugh

    I recentlt played this for first time. Simple party: Bard, fighter, cleric, sorcerer, mage, thief/fighter. And an extensive use of custom journal entries(headed by one character as speaker) and i had a hell of a fun time. Played on switch. Thinking of usibg npc mod soon, on either pc or *gasp* Android, if i can.
    Will easily go down as one of my favorite games ever.

    Why do you need open locks when you have a mage who can knock?

    • @Renfail
      @Renfail  9 місяців тому

      why waste a spell slot when you have a rogue?

    • @maxayam8268
      @maxayam8268 8 місяців тому +1

      Maybe because you can get pickpocket, find traps, move silently etc which a mage cant.
      You only need to memorize knock when there is a lock to open but there's no way to opt out of open locks into find traps or pickpocket when you need it

    Fighter/Druid, fighter/Thief, Fighter/mage, Archer, paladin, fighter/clerc. Very strong team.
    Multiclass is just superior, the way xp works.
    Lets say you go pure mage i will be level 20 at same time a fighter/mage will be like level 18.

      @@kalle1689 Yeah. Honestly, this guide is pretty bad. No reason to go pure cleric when the kits or a multi/dual class fighter/cleric is better in nearly everyway. Same for thieves.

    People keep thinking that having high INT gets a Mage 'bonuses' in these 2e based games. smh
    The only bonus you get is slightly higher chance of copying from scrolls successfully.

    I remember completing this for the first time, this might sound real odd but I loved this so much everything about it, I've never been able to play it again because of spoiling my original experience with it. I want to remember it the way I played originally.

      The tactical combat is so good in these games I simply cant help myself from creating a full 6 character party every time. In Baldurs Gate Ive run smaller parties because of the premade NPCs, but in IWD I feel like I have no excuse not to go full party, since it gives you all the tools. Its just too much fun.
