Oh my giddy aunt! That ghost print is deliciously grungy! Bravo!🤩
Oh my gosh I love it so much, with the blue.
I am so happy I have found your UA-cam channel. I'm learning a lot 😮❤😊
Wonderful grungy ghost print. You will undoubtedly turn this into something even more beautiful.
I love the surprise of each pull!
Blew my socks off! What a stonking palette and mark-making - my Saturday evening is just joyous thanks to your artistry and generosity to share this with the world! Thank you very much - I shall be investing in a gelli plate et al tomorrow when the shops open.
Thanks so much! I always had intense admiration for musicians of all kinds, I believe the ability to make music is a divine gift. I have made friends with many musicians, especially jazz musicians. Please watch my 5000th milestone video ua-cam.com/video/rQ8vmqlie1k/v-deo.html
GENIUS! I love your work. It’s a process of learning to think backwards in the progression of colors etc. Thank you for your videos. Bravo.
Charlotte
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
I appreciate your refined use of language, how you choose your words, very creative
FANTASTIC session today!! Soooo many juicy & delicious pulls!! I can’t get over how rich & intricate they all are! Bravo! Love your vids!!
I bought a ream of card stock to start my journey. I printed before, moved away from it and enjoying your videos so much that printing is what I want to do, thanks for those wonderful lessons.
Thanks so much for watching!
At 30:46 Gorgeously rich. At this point, I am reminded of Klimt somehow. So beautiful!
really exciting 'grunge' texture print!!
Love this session. Loved the last piece without the collage. You have shared so much. I am so very grateful for you. The back around music is so soothing. Thank you !❤
I really like the ghost print.
Fabulous first print!
Beautiful work❤️
Beautful colours and great transfer
WOW 🎉🎉. I love these❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thank you for sharing. I like your work. I have found that, if my plate is well conditioned, I can leave the paper on the plate over night (or longer) after application of a thick coat of paint to pull the remnants, and pretty much pull all of the ghost artifacts leaving the plate quite clean.
@Sybil _Detard ....same for me. Especially for a multiple layer print 😊
The plastic folders are a great storage idea, thanks. I prefer it when you integrate the collage into the painting by printing over it. I feel that just as a top layer it's intrusive. So I liked all the paintings before you added collage, they were all complete except for the grunge print. But beautiful work, thanks for all the sessions.
Hi Sharon, being "intrusive" is the whole point. That's part of my urban esthetic. Big city life is full of complexities and anomalies, and it has rubbed off on me! Thanks for watching!
I love the grundge piece
really enjoy the clear/crisp transfer of the brush texture and the interruptions as well due to the printing process.
I like the last print too
Thanks so much!
Love it. Busier than usual, but fun
Thanks!
Holy moly! Just amazing results in this session!❤️
Great storage idea for the masks - mine are in chaos!
Happy Luna new year. I thought your red print was already top notch but then the last print was breathtaking. Just loved the complexity.
On the grunge texture print, the large black tissue paper shape, appears to be a dark negative shape and the textured print to its left appears to be a positive shape. Odd visual illusion. Enjoyed watching all the print develop - all good surprises!
Thanks as always Don for being so observant! You don't just watch, you dissect what you see in great detail!
@@artwhisperer88 yes I do. I get so much from your videos!
Another great viewing!
I really appreciate your approach to the painterly look on your prints. I tried the other methods going round... all the stencils, rice-paper and thin layers of paint.
I found it very uninteresting and quite rigid. Thank you for opening up another way to approach printing. God bless from Australia
And some of these were paintings coming off the plate. Love what a gel plate does.
I love all four, how wonderful! I agree with you - the "grunge" print is too cool - fabulous! I love your videos, and always anxiously await the next... Good job!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Happy New Year! May the rabbit bring you peace and prosperity. Your grunge background is spectacular, its one we all hope for. Great work.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Bold and beautiful!
Thanks so much!
As always, I loved your video
Thanks so much!
C'etait encore une fois un grand plaisir de vous regarder travailler. Merci.
Merci d'avoir regardé!
SO INCREDIBLE
Good work !!!!
Beautiful!!!!
Love your art.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching !
Wonderful prints especially the first one. Thank you for sharing.
I love your work, it’s so generous of you to share your process. I think I might try to apply paint with a heavier hand now on some layers to get that impasto look. FWIW If you really want to have retrieved the first ghost print as it was (but then look what you would’ve lost in subsequent pulls “happy accidents”) try applying a thin layer wiping the brayer on the scrap paper as you mentioned, so that the paint layer is almost translucent. It’s amazing how clean of a pull you get from the ghost using a very fine layer. Worth a try, and if it works as expected you’ll have choices. It’s so amazing that no matter what one plans it’s always a surprise in what one actually gets, it’s magical. Thank you again xo
Thanks so much Zoe, your comments are so kind and helpful! Having a lovely audience such as yourself makes me want to try even harder to create good content. 😘
Yes, i have found this too, if you can see what you are trying to pull clearly you seem to pull all of it up
I recently discovered your channel, am enjoying immensely watching your creative process.
Your approach is inspiring!
Thank you for sharing curiosity, experimentation, and exploration thru your artful practice.
Happy new year! 🍻
Great textures on these, especially the last one!
Thanks for watching!
That is a great storage idea, thanks for sharing. I'm jazzed about the texture from your brush in your first print. Keep artin'!
Thanks so much!
I love all the prints you do, and your soothing voice, I often save your videos for the evening just before bed, like a bedtime story! can I ask what you do with all your prints? how do you display / frame the ones you wish to?
Here's how they are displayed ua-cam.com/video/gGeV2D3tOG8/v-deo.html I have a new website artwhisperer88.com Thanks for watching!
@@artwhisperer88 thank you!
Love your videos ! I am not a fan of the dark collage. I know it is an asthetic choice. I find them to be black holes. Thank you for your experiments.
From a young age I learned to appreciate the velvet darkness of the night, it reveals the sparkling stars beyond.
Waw!!!!!!
I like them as they are now, but I'm curious how they will be after collage.
Love the plate at 19.50 looks like a Gerard richter… do you find that some colours are better at picking up ghost prints⁉️love the 1st print combination and the grunge one are fab🎉thank you🤩
Blickcrylic seems to have more of the extender in its formula, it's great for picking up ghost prints.
just a quick question: you "raw sienna" looks very much more yellow that my "raw sienna" (more brown). Is that just a difference in brands? I thought a Pantone color is the same across the universe?
They have the same name but have different outcomes due to different formulas. BTW Pantone has nothing to do with it.
Do you clean the stencils after?
I soak them in a solution of dish detergent in a pan. They don't come out perfect, but serviceable!
What paper are you using?
Somerset English paper 22 in. x 30 in. 140 lb. 100% cotton from dickblick.com
Before I put my paint on my plate I take a picture with my cell phone if the stencil placement. Then I can refer to it when I am removing them to make sure I get all the odd little ones.
The paper sort please and size of gelliplate
What paper type
If you leave your last ghost print overnight mostly all paint will be released. Put a book the size of the print over the top and leave it…
Thanks so much for you input! Will try that!
What paper 37:25
Leave the red one alone!
Sorry, too late! 😉
