Stock up on bar soap, it doesn't go bad like liquid soap, and you can, in a pinch, use it in your hair. Contrary to popular belief, it's how they used to do it before shampoo was invented 😏 get your cleaning supplies while you can. Get an extra bottle of everything. Rule of thumb 😏
When I was around 12 years old I used FELS-NAPTHA for shampoo! And everything else. Was cheaper than the other products. As a former hairdresser I found that most people use far too much shampoo. Use the least amount you can get away with. Why send it all down the drain?

Get a gravity fed water purifier. My is ALEXAPURE. I never drink or cook with tap water. I'm a healthy 75, going on 76 years old. And I have canned enough food that I had to turn the 3rd bedroom as a food storage room! I'm good for at least 7 years. I still buy milk. And i'm hung up on brioche bread and buns. Love them. BLT's on a brioche bun for lunch today.
I have lots of toothbrushs and toothpaste. Stocked up 2 years ago. ADA recommends using a dollop of paste the size of a pea. So stop using more than that and your toothpaste will last a long time.
If you can find a local farmer that sells meat quality is so much better and although still expensive you are directly supporting local farm and eating better. I am blessed to have that resource near me. Please give it a try.
The powdered laundry detergent in the hispanic section is still a good deal too. Prepper channels have said liquid laundry detergent may have a shelf life issue.
Good afternoon Danno and Jess, I got some chicken nuggets from Tyson from food pantry and gave it away to my son’s family. I don’t eat prepackaged food especially from Tyson.
I got 2 large packs of large pork steaks at my hometown grocery store that still has a butcher shop for $2.19 a pound. There were 4 large pork steaks in each pack. So i took them out of their packaging and seasoned them and put 2 steaks in each freezer bag which will be 4 meals. These are thick meaty pork steaks cut in store. It was $17.00 total for 4 meals. Great deal.
Just a suggestion. Watch for Boston butt roast to go on sale, often only $.99 to $1.99 per pound. If that butcher will custom cut on his bandsaw for free, that is the source of pork steaks. Way cheaper!

I use the powder form of Boost. I ordered mine on Amazon. You will get more for your money. When I ordered mine It was$30 and I got 3 times the amount of shakes. You mix the powder with water.
I use the boost with fiber and add an extra scoop of the powder for the extra protein. Don’t care for the flavor mixing it with water. Have a blessed day 🙂
We used to have a Fred's and all of their Suave and White Rain products were $.99. Even the few higher end brands were cheaper there than anywhere else. I miss that store.
I stocked up colgate toothpaste, the dollar tree brand of sensitive teeth toothpaste, zest bar soap, suave body wash, suave and white rain and any other shampoo that smelled good and had a good price per ounce, 300 count packs of cotton swabs. I have a BUNCH of these items since they don't go bad. My favorite shampoo used to be Pantene(this was in the 80s/90s) because it worked well and smelled SO good! I used it on my big, beautiful Sheltie I had back then. As I recall it didn't cost much more than the cheap brands like suave, so it didn't bother me that it took so much to bathe my dog. Now the high tier brands like Pantene and Herbal Essence are priced crazy high. That's why I stocked up so much at Dollar Tree.
Smart thinking. I used to use Philosophy's Falling in Love. I love that smell. I only have 2 big bottles left and I use it very sparingly. Maybe once a week. When it's gone, it's gone.

Bariatric patients have to drink those protein drinks. I am a bariatric patient, but I eat cottage cheese instead. I can’t drink them everyday without gagging.
Have you tried the powder proteins? I’m not a bariatric patient, but I wanted to increase my protein for work and exercise. I mix a scoop of the chocolate powder protein into 3/4 cup Greek vanilla yogurt and stir. It tastes like chocolate pudding and is 34 grams of protein for cheap. Don’t know if this would fit into your dietary plan. But it’s worth a try.

We just moved states, so I had to get rid of lots of laundry detergent, dish soap, and food that I was stocking up too. As for dog food, I make our dog his food with our instant pot. Rice, cheap meat with bone (bone removed after cooking), left over veggie raw veggie scraps, eggs with the shells broken up, garlic and turmeric. He seems to have more energy compared to what I was normally giving him. I'm able to get wet dog food nearly free and sometimes I get paid to take it out the store. Also just last week I got an $19 bag of dog food for $3 after phone rebate apps. Ps I was recommend by the vet to give our dog (10 years old and had him for the last 2 years) soft foods with a bit of kibble.

I can't do off brand washing detergent I break out in hives. I get the bulk Tide Pods at Sam's Club and that will last me 3-4 months. I wash clothes once a week not daily like some do so we are talking maybe 2 pods a week at the most. Guess that's the perks of being single. lol
I have to tell you I went to my local store yesterday to pick up a few things so I thought I would check the price of olive oil. Store brand was $64 for 2 quarts!!! I have never seen anything price that high in a grocery store EVER other then meat! How in the world are people going to make it. I switched to avocado oil and I actually like it better. I am going to pick up a couple more next time I am at Costco because I am sure the demand for it will go up as well as the price because people are switching to it because who can afford olive oil?

You can save some money on detergent by using only 1/3 the amount they suggest and the clothes get just as clean.

You guys , research what you can do with Fava, it's the liquid in the cans of garbanzo beans, chick peas.
I make meringue for pies and pavlova and mix with curd and fresh fruit and as a whipped topping. I freeze the liquid until I have enough to use.

I've only been on SNAP for a year and haven't looked at the details, no idea how they work it. All I know is the balance was higher with absolutely zero changes on my part. My interpretation is that they must be adjusting because the cost of food keeps going up?

Kroger has done that buy 1 get 2 free Tyson chicken before. It's not so great. The chicken is so overpriced, it brings the price down to what other stores are charging (Miejer & Sams' Club).

I can't do off brand washing detergent I break out in hives. I get the bulk Tide Pods at Sam's Club and that will last me 3-4 months. I wash clothes once a week not daily like some do so we are talking maybe 2 pods a week at the most. Guess that's the perks of being single. lol
You can still buy bar soap for $1 at Dollar general and other assorted hba products

I have to tell you I went to my local store yesterday to pick up a few things so I thought I would check the price of olive oil. Store brand was $64 for 2 quarts!!! I have never seen anything price that high in a grocery store EVER other then meat! How in the world are people going to make it. I switched to avocado oil and I actually like it better. I am going to pick up a couple more next time I am at Costco because I am sure the demand for it will go up as well as the price because people are switching to it because who can afford olive oil?
Avocado oil is not cheap& they say it's rancid in the store.
