The two white stripes on the socks which you don't comment on were, as with issue gloves, an indication of their size. For example two rings, size 5 - 7, three rings, size 8 -9.
I noticed but I did not know. Of course there had to be a purpose, they weren't going to make the socks more expensive and time consuming to make for nothing! With the Germans, there's always a reason for everything, unfathomable and twisted as if may be...
As the war progressed, I bet the average German soldier could consider himself very lucky if he could keep 20% of what we're seeing here! If you have the chance, try to visit the Kyiv War Museum in Ukraine - maybe it's wiser to wait first for the war to end - in which you will be able to see all these items in original condition plus many, many more Wehrmacht and Soviet gear. Possibly it will be the very first time you see these items in color! Worth a visit. The Museum is located inside the base of the gigantic "Motherland calls" monument, located close to the river. Outside there is a large display of Tanks, military vehicles and combat aircraft, and a very short distance away there is a dedicated Afghanistan War Museum. You'll be impressed.
I've been to the Chernobyl museum in Kyiv, they turned it into a current war relics museum of captured/ destroyed Russian equipment. I put a video on my channel.
Early pipes like yours have vulcanized rubber stems. When they get old, they turn a unsavory yellow/brown. You can polish it with something like VIM (liquid abbrasive household cleaner) to turn it back to gleaming darkbrown/black. Nice set of kit!
not totally true that was panzerschokolade which was issued to panzer crews. normal chocolate called scho ka kola contained high ammounts of caffeine. they did also serve meth in tabs in the form of pervitin
its missing some "Pervitin" tablets.. they was issued but later soldiers was asking their relatives to send some with the next packet from home also a german army/trench lighter - there is 2 different models.
big news. epic militaria have aww2 German pocket litter section of the store now. good for any UK reenactors. might be good for international reenactors, but postage and import might be very expensive. great video

Where do you keep that fat toilet paper roll lol? Everything else is small or flat so they could fit somewhere, but the toiler paper roll is neither small nor flat
HBT uniforms are very thin and are good for hot environments. Not to mention Afrikakorps is a good thing to reenact for hot environments since as the name implies, were deployed in Africa. Basically standard uniform just thinned and olive instead of fieldgrey. Hope this helped.
They stopped issuing that in may of 1941 I believe. However it was still available for private purchase but highly discouraged because the withdrawal makes you literally useless as a soldier.
You are talks about nazy soldiers, who killing civilians, kids? Who destroy thousands of villages and some burning with people? Who bombing cities up to burning to ashes?
historically correct wallets are sold by "Verlag Kopf", in Europe: verlagkopf.com/product/leather-wallet, as a reproduction of "Ersatzledermaterial" (a leather copy material maybe due to shortage of actual real leather at the time).

That chocolate tastes fantastic, and can still be gotten from Germany
Schokakola is my favorite. In austria it's harder to get, than in germany, but i found one store that sells these.
Sewing kits were also very useful and should be a must for most if not all reenactors

Great video! One of the things I plan on also carrying when I build up my kit (Grenadier Regiment 914) that I don’t see done often is a bible
It might be a bit risky. Many would be scared due to Hitler's dislike of christians.

No, he is a Scutze. Scutzen lives matter

Try to get a Rotbart Mond Extra DE shaver and a Palmolive shaving soap stick that would be period exact.
