MissLizHeart I agree sooooo much. I didn’t buy much when she wasn’t born because I didn’t know what I would need. I just had the essentials (diapers, wipes, new born and 0-3 months, and first aid) I feel like I didn’t over buy things. I had the necessary for her. But then again, if you want to buy things for baby go ahead! Just keep your receipts Hahahah
Not even pregnant but you better believe whenever I am I’ll be coming back to this (and all of your others)!! Love you so much & CANT WAIT FOR THE BABY!! I’ve been checking your stories (and having my boyfriend do the same) 24/7!!
Bring slippers maybe? I would also recommend bringing a much warmer robe with you. Hospitals tend to be very cold places with only a few thin blankets on the bed lol.
I think you packed well! I would definitely add your own pillow & one for Michael! You will be glad to have your own pads-the hospital ones are insanely big. Lots of people on here are saying how much bleeding there is but mine was minimal (even with a bit of tearing) so don’t let everyone freak you out too much!
Highly recommend some loose sweatpants for going home, you’re not going to feel very comfortable in leggings as you’ll have a huge pad on & you may even have an emergency c section, leggings won’t feel good over that incision.
Hey girl, as a mama of two and worked in surgery for c-sections, I just wanna tell you you're doing awesome and the hospital will have most of the toiletries, but if you end up pushing, get tucks pads. They help so much! You look so ready and I can totally tell that baby is dropping from your lungs!! You look so beautiful! Can't wait! Xo
Try to shower before you leave the house. I know it sounds crazy but I went into labor all 3 times in the middle of the night. Plus if you get the epidural it’s going to be hours and hours before you can shower. Praying for you! Xoxo
I’m having my 2nd child early April. My hospital bag this time around is very minimal...the bag consists of clothes to come home in (a maxi dress) easier to breast feed in and move around...Some Always brand diaper undies (used it with last delivery and so comfortable! I didn’t like the pads and mesh panties they provided at hospital). Lansinoh breast pads for the maxi dress to keep from leaks. Travel shampoo, conditioner, face wash, soap, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush. Some disposable wispies for quick fresh breath. And some rubber slippers to shower in at hospital. Last but not least...clothes to take the baby home in. Oh and don’t forget a pen for filling out all those forms before going home ☺️. Good luck to you!!
So exciting! I wanna add something to your bag...lol Bring a loose maxi dress just in case cause you might not want anything snug on especially in case a c-section ends up coming into play. (You never know) Also...if you do plan to leave your bags in the car during the beginning stages of labor be careful cause that Louie bag might entice a thief to break in to your car. You can never be too safe and car thefts are a thing no matter where you live. Ok that’s it. 🙂
While I gave birth to our first son, our vehicle got broken into & they stole all the baby stuff. Including his car seat! The hospital didn’t help us & didn’t even have surveillance in that parking lot. People are jerks!
You look like a Goddess! Props to Mike for being such a supportive husband throughout all these months. You’re days away from meeting your little baby boy. I cannot wait for the name reveal 😁😁
I feel the name is Michael, named after his incredible Father. I can't get it out of my head, and it is the name of an Angel, and I believe he will be.
Rhiannon Rigg YES! This is a must! I’m not expecting or had a baby but I’ve had 18 surgeries and TRUST me Alex... u HAVE to bring your own pillow. Like this is probably one of the most important things tbh. Hospital pillows are flat rocks. U wanna be comfortable pushing the baby out with a nice fluffy pillow behind u.. also having to sleep and such.
Rhiannon Rigg yes!! Bring a pillow with a colorful case on it so you can tell yours apart. I also brought my own fuzzy blanket and I was SO glad I did. Way more comfortable!
I wish I had thought to bring my own pillow! I barely slept while I was there because the hospital pillows are so uncomfortable, and you definitely want sleep while you can get it
Alex- as a mother infant nurse you did a great job packing your bag! The hospital will provide you with pads, underwear, lanolin, all of that type of stuff but always good if you want to have your own as well ☺️ some patients like to bring a sound machine for baby/themselves to drown out hospital noise. Oh and night gowns are great versus pants especially early on when your bleeding is checked frequently. Good luck!!
I think you should pack a blueberry Luna bar. Once THE LEMON DROP arrives you likely won't want anything to do with lemon flavor! Just kidding! Pillow and an extra Pillow case. A throw blanket from home. Sleeping eye mask-you don't know what hours you will get to catch sleep depending on labor. If you aren't a sound sleeper, maybe ear plugs in case you need desperately to get sleep. Essential oil to drop on your pillow. Mouth wash can be nice pick me up. And most importantly a framed picture of Colbie. He deserves to be there too!
Wouldn't REALLY recommend bringing a pillow to the hospital and a throw blanket unless you're going to deep clean it or throw it away...germs can stay around for QUITE some time and I wouldn't want to bring that into your home not knowing what the mom before you had. I don't even let my nursing shoes in my apartment, they stay at my door and my scrubs go straight to the laundry to prevent the spread of germs!
Marie, your comment had me laughing, ear plugs are not to block out the magic sounds of you own baby... this conversation is about what to bring to make LABOR MORE COMFORTABLE. You don't have control of what goes on in your environment (your neighbor may be vocal or blast tv during the time you arrive and need to sleep). Unfortunately you are not the only guest having a baby. And it may go on longer than you hope. So catching sleep allowing your eyes to rest and maybe ears with plugs, for just a few minutes can be enough to charge you for the task before you. ~A mother is never going to want to miss out on the new sounds or sights of her own new baby! : )
I think it’s always better to be prepared with everything you may ever need then to be under packed. Can’t wait to see your little boy! Just hang in there!
I had my hospital bag all prepared but didn’t used any items in the bag. My labor started at midnight , long labor about 16 hours, pushed for 3 hours! I looked like a wrecked ! But I didn’t care. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy! Congratulations Alex!
I agree with you about the hair situation. I had an emergency csection and by the grace of god I had done my hair the day before. The dry shampoo was a life saver as well as all the hair ties in the world. Bring a robe. That was the one thing I didn’t get to pack and that I wanted. Maybe even a thick sweatshirt. Postpartum chills are no joke. Good luck!!!
Yep, you’re ready! I suggest bringing a darker towel unless you plan on tossing the white one after. Only because bleeding is pretty heavy and unpredictable. Good luck!
Also, the hospital pads are SUPER uncomfortable. Literally feels like a book is down there so yes to bringing your own! And that belly band was a lifesaver after my emergency c-section.
A suggestion, bc it saved me when I had my daughter, get the dermoplast pain relieving spray (blue can)! You can get it at walmart, target etc. It's the greatest invention ever!
Your bag looks great...my advice as not only a mama but a past labor and delivery nurse is to use whatever the hospital has first! You are paying for it right! Pads, nipple cream, pain relieving spray (get some of that for afterwards to spray on your lady parts), hospital underwear (not cute but comfy and totally work and you can throw away if they get gross), and whatever else they offer you! With the pain relieving spray you can spray it directly on your vagina (especially if you tear but even if you don’t you might get “road rash”) OR you can make a banana split. That’s what I called it. You take an ice pack (open one side of a newborn diaper -creating a pocket - and add ice) then add to your postpartum undies on top of a pad, then on top of the ice pack place a few hemorrhoid pads along the length of it, finally spray the pads with the pain relieving spray (usually contains lidocaine or something similar to help numb an area) and pull those undies up! It helps with pain, obviously, and any swelling! It was a god send for any of the postpartum mamas I helped take care of! I hope this helps and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of sweet baby boy! 😁
The hospital i had my son at had witch hazel pads and a squirt bottle which was a godsend hahahaha. Or my friend made her own witch hazel pads from Pinterest and stuck them right in her freezer!
Itemized bills show all the charges.. we had an $8 charge for a tylonel or something like that.. like every little thing gets billed so I used as little as possible with my second baby and packed from home
Hi Alex! Im a student nurse and many families bring an extra baby blanket that you can send home with Michael or whomever to introduce to Colbie! The smell of the baby introduces Colbie to what is to be coming home with you guys and provides a little mini introduction for the future besties!! I've had many families do this and they say they love it as their pet get's a little something special as well :) best of luck, can't wait for the new arrival !
You've packed just enough! I would add slippers, home pillow and throw/small blanket. It seems excessive but the hospital sheets/pillows are the WORST. Same with their toiletries, but you've got that covered. Also your fave snacks for after birth. You won't be able to eat before, but having something you love right after will do you so good! Also, I don't know if you mentioned it, but breast pads for leakage! Currently pregnant with my 3rd, and packing a hospital bag is still so exciting! Congrats!
Aubri Wilcox awesome! My first labor was 36 hours and my doula snuck food for me lol ! My second was 7 hours through the night, mostly at home, and he was born in time for breakfast haha that was 2015, maybe when this one comes things will be different with Kaiser.
The hospital gave me a manual pump yours might as well, but I used it a ton to get colostrum for breastfeeding and it helped my little guy latch a lot better! Good luck girl, I’m sure you’ll be amazing!
Perfection!! I packed everything you packed and used it ALL!! Some people take it to the next level!! Awesome! Can’t wait to see the labor and delivery vlog
The only thing I can suggest is hand cream. You will be washing your hands A LOT! Also, slippers. I just went to Payless and bought cheap slippers I threw away after!
I’m SO SO SO incredibly excited for you and Michael! And Colbie of course 💛 I enjoy your videos so much, it almost seems like you’re a big sister/mom to all of us! I think everything you packed was perfect! I’ve heard putting witch hazel and aloe vera on your pads and freezing them really helps with healing and soothing after giving birth! I hope everything goes smoothly and I just know your little bundle of joy will be such an incredible kid with you guys as his parents! Please keep the updates coming! 😄😄 Big hugs!! 💛
When I had my son I wasn’t sure I’d want to put any makeup on but I’m so happy I had a bag with me. The first day I didn’t wear any but the 2nd day I felt so much better and I just put on a little foundation & mascara & bronzer and it made me feel so much better and we had a lot of visitors and some took pictures with us and looking back I’m glad I was wearing at least some makeup haha
Hi Alex! I have to tell you, I have never had a baby but, now I know what it would be like. I just had a fibroid removal surgery and my incision is longer than a c-section. I packed a hospital bag and I thought I over packed and I did! Lol the only thing out of everything I packed were my going home clothes. Good luck with everything, baby boy will be here soon! God bless you and your family!
You are ready to rock! I seriously didn’t pack anything but fresh underwear and toiletries for myself. What I wore to the hospital is what I wore home and I just stayed in the hospital gowned the whole time. I ended up having complications so I didn’t care. But definitely for baby #2 I am going to bring a comfy hospital outfit to help me feel human again. Best wishes!
You did such a great job with your hospital bag!! But don’t forget to bring a pillow and throw because it gets cold. Also make sure to bring baby wipes because for some weird reason my hospital didn’t have any and I went to one of the best hospitals in Long Island, NY. I took the epidural because I wanted my labor to be as painless as possible and it was. Don’t let people scare you in not wanting to take it. Love you guys and your going to do great Momma Alex😘
Boricuazfinestx I went to Katz Women’s Hospital at Long Island Jewish. The doctors and nurses where awesome!! Don’t bring fuzzy socks because they’ll give you some. Make sure to pack flip flops they are very useful. How exciting congratulations on your soon to be bundle of joy. If you have any other questions let me know.
Remember back pain can be labor pain - my second child I had only back pain, thinking it was just from over doing things. My sister-in-law told me to sit down and time my back pain - sure enough - I was in labor! Good luck Alex - hope baby comes soon - so anxious to see his beautiful face!
You’re going to do great! The first time I brought my whole life and the second time I brought makeup and small travel size shampoo and conditioner and a robe helps too! Just in case it gets cold in your room because the blankets there are not warm at all. Don’t bring the pads though they should provide those for you. And remember to enjoy every moment of labor and delivery because after that sweet baby is born it seems like time goes by so fast. ❤️ prayers for you and your family for a safe delivery!
Everything looks good! Enjoy that baby! A good piece of home that calmed me was a blanket and a pillow. The hospital shower was alright but there’s nothing like your own shower when you get home! One thing that was AMAZING when coming home was someone to be here so Robbie and I could take a nap and they watched the baby for us, even if it was for an hour because youll be so exhausted and really won’t sleep during the hospital stay, all the excitement, guests, nurse shift changes, doctors. It’ll seem like a daze. Another if you can, make up some spaghetti sauce and freeze it, or soups, or get a frozen pizza, anything to have something simple to make when you get home that won’t require a lot of time because those first few days home you won’t want to do much of anything. (You’ll be very sore around day 4/5) bring a bag to put dirty clothes in!! Ask people to either bring gifts to your house or designate someone with a big vehicle to drive your gifts home, you’ll be getting a lot! Xo safe labor and delivery!
I am not pregnant nor am I a mother. However, I do know this, I will ALWAYS prefer over packing rather than not packing enough. But, just from watching your video, I do not think that you over packed. Hope you have a great and safe labor! Can't wait to see him! xo
Look into nipple shields! And also I’m sure someone has said this some where in the comments, but bring a little blanket or something that you will have the baby in on the day he’s born and have someone bring it home to Colby the next day. That way Colby can get familiar with the baby’s scent and help make the transition easier for him. 🤗 Can’t wait to see the birth vlog!!
The lansinoh nipple cream is great but it actually made my cracking and bleeding worse because it trapped in moisture. Highly recommend having coconut oil with you to use as nipple cream if you have to deal with bleeding. Also if you have a breast pump, take that and leave it in the car just in case. If you or baby boy have any complications and you have to stay for an extra couple days, the LC might recommend pumping and it’s so nice to have your own. I think you’re ready though mama!! Good luck with L&D! Can’t wait to see baby boy and find out his name!
Your going to do great! Just a word of advice, hospital parking lots are often a place of theft. I suggest you bring everything into the hospital right when you get there. Can’t wait to see your little guy!
Lol good tips, I'm an easy non high maintenance woman. I place my things and baby stuff in one bag cause I'm sure from experience three days is the max I'll be there.
You’re so ready... one suggestion... COLGATE WISPS! Get in the car and have Michael drive you to target and pick some of those up! I found them great to have on my bedside table just to freshen up your mouth between naps and visitors 💗 good luck doll you guys are gonna do great !!!!
Too much girl, the hospital provides so much! I took that much with my first and I was embarrassed by it all when I got there. Used very little and had to haul it around! Ended up in the or and my mom had to man handle it all and got stuck waiting in a hall with it as maternity would not let her in but she had nowhere to go. My sis in law takes one small toiletries bag and she is so inspiring! But I just remembered you’ve had your baby so I’m sure you figured this all out.
You might want to rethink the leaving the hospital outfit. After birth you'll be wearing what is pretty close to a diaper. Those pants will not be something you want to wear with a diaper. Maybe a looser pair of lounge pants with a long shirt or a tank and a long sweater to cover your diaper bum! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..but no one told me that id be in a diaper after and I was mortified.
Maggie Benav same! lol I went home wearing a pad and the tightest yoga pants to suck everything in 😂 I hated feeling all jiggly on my belly so the yoga pants were lifesavers!
Loved this! Good job on packing your own pads because hospital pads are horrible ❤️ A notebook and pen is nice to have to write down any tips the nurses give you on breastfeeding and your postpartum recovery. Looking forward to your birth vlog and finding out the name ❤️
You’re not going to use half of those things after giving birth. You’re going to be exhausted. Looking good will be the last thing on your mind. Giving birth isn’t glamorous at all!
Everyone is different and every delivery is different. With my first I didn’t put any make up on afterwards because I was in so much pain and I regret it so badly. I wish I would have put on a little to help me feel more like myself. I didn’t want to be photographed and because of it I have no pictures. With my daughter I put on a little bit of make up and got a professional to come take our pictures. I was in a lot more pain after my second csection so I was glad I had scheduled it ahead of time, otherwise I would have no memories of that delivery either.
Honestly.. I have a scheduled c-section and my hair will be done and my lash extensions will be filled. My nails/ toes/ brows will be done. What’s the problem with wanting to look good, FEEL good after you have a baby? This will be my third and I always feel great after my first shower! Leave her alone and whoever else likes to look good especially for pictures or just in general, let us be!
Nurse here 🙋♀️ and I agree with the small make up bag . Most hospitals have a photographer who comes around taking pictures of the baby and 9 times out of 10 the new mom's don't want to be in the photos because they didn't bring any type of make up to make them feel pretty for the pictures. So they miss out on capturing those tender moments. Also think you should definitely bring your own pads. The hospitals are super thick and uncomfortable for some so it's nice to have a back up.
I brought my own pillow and a pretty pillowcase. Your usually in bed when everyone wants to take a photo. Take advantage of the hospital underwear and pads not glamorous but worth it 😊Interested to see a follow up on what you actually used. Love your videos!!
Everyone is always pushing to breast feed, and that's fine if it's what you want to do, but if for some reason you can't, it's fine too...I never wanted to breast feed, and I didn't, and I have two of the healthiest kids ever. They grew up on Enfamil formula. No issues what so ever. They are 18 and 24 now. So, there's that. Breast feeding isn't the end all be all.
I am 19 and not a mom but I still watch to support you!! So excited for you and it's so amazing to see how excited you are to have your boy!! Really love watching these since my dads never really been a great one and its nice to see parents excited to start a family!
I think you are well prepared. I don't think you forgot anything. I totally forgot to bring pads. You definitely needs those right after giving birth. I had my son towards the end of fall, so it was starting to get chilly. Fuzzy socks and a robe were the most important items I packed in my bag. Also, something comfy and loose to wear when I left the hospital.
Bring depends, you won't regret it. Oh and after I had my daughter I was bleeding ALOT. I'd recommend bringing a darker towel unless you don't mind throwing that one away afterwards. You also might need a nursing bra, for me the tanks didn't offer enough support and (tmi) my nipples got so hard looking(moreso just swollen) all the time from nursing.
If I could add a small piece of advice. Sometimes things don't go according to plan and for that reason I would suggest if you haven't already, doing research into what formula brand you would use as a back up in the event you need that option even if temporarily. Not to trust whatever the hospital gives you but really do research on ingredients so that if you do end up needing to use it, it could make a stressful time less stressful because you've chosen a brand you can feel good about. I wish only breastfeeding days ahead for you because it's what you want. You can donate the kind you did get ;) love love!!
Another piece of advice from a nursing student... from canada ( PS love your vlogs, just so cute) breastfeeding can be difficult at first and it takes time for mom and baby to form a rhythm. A lot of the time hospitals will recommend formula if its "taking to long" but know that it can take hours but in the first day your babies stomach is so small all it needs is the colostrum which you can hand express literally on your finger and have the baby lick it off. The babies stomach is roughly the size of a marble. Although it defiantly is each moms own personal preference how they choose to feed their baby ( breastmilk, formula) it is important to note that your baby does not have its own secretory IgA's formed. Breastmilk supplies your babies IgA exclusively for the first 4-6 weeks. Its the most important immunoglobulin in breastmilk and cannot be reproduced in formula. What its gonna do it protect your babies intestinal tract and it acts like paint, coating the babies entire intestinal mucosa. Growth factors within the breastmilk stimulate the babies own gut to produce its own IgA. One bottle of formula in the first 7 days post birth can shift the babies bacterial profile for 2-4 weeks. Just something to think about and know that if it doesn't come easy at first and your hoping to breastfeed you can defiantly do it but by no means is formula a horrible option, its whatever you feel is best for your baby! Lactation Consultants are also an awesome source if you are encountering some issues. Good luck & I look forward to seeing your little bundle of joy, your guys are gonna do great. Congrats!!!
Hi Alex, cant wait to see your bundle of joy. I just gave birth a month ago. Just to add to what to bring.. bring an extra tote for stuff you get from the hospital. Also, when you give birth.. dont forget to ask for the numbing spray, you’ll need it. I ask for extra ones too when you get hme. Ask or bring some tuck pads. My hosp didnt provide but gave me ice packs instead. Trust me you will be sore down there u will need these.. for the baby, they pretty much have everything you need. Thry have diapers and etc but they dont use wipes at my hospital so i brought my own water wipes. Bring him some going home clothes. :)
I totally over pack in general and my hospital bag 7 weeks ago was no different lol, you can check out what I packed on my channel. Honestly all I used from my bag was my chap-stick, hair brush, face wash, dress, slippers, tooth brush, tooth paste, going home outfit, cell phone and charger. The hospital has everything you will need, your milk won't come in for roughly 3 days - a week, so you won't have leakage until then. Everyone is different, but this was my experience :)
Yes take your own pads , the always infinity ones with wings green box not so bulky and are more comfortable than the hospital ones:)Bamboobies washable nursing pads are the best:)earth baby mama nursing cream 👍🏼👍🏼
I’m 40 weeks today and it doesn’t seem like my baby is coming anytime soon! I would recommend a hand held fan with a spray bottle attached that you could use! A friend of mine recommend that to me, she said it saved her life during labor ! 💙💙
After I had my baby I wanted no part in tight pants. Especially with the mesh panties and thick ass pad.
Bring a file folder for all the copies of paperwork they'll give you.
Livia Lingo yes!!
Hahaha so true!!
Depending which hospital, but they usually give you a folder with all the paperwork at the end.
Livia Lingo WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!! I never thought of that with my first. Pregnant with second one and this is a perfect idea !❤️
Bring a extension cord. The plugs are so far from the chairs and bed. So that was a life saver for me.
Great idea!! I linked my phone charger it’s 10 ft long and so amazing!
Michaela Marie oh shit! I almost forgot to add that to my hospital bag!!! Thank you for the reminder!!! 💕💕💕
Remember to pack the baby book so they can put a stamp of the baby foot print in it 😍
So true Amazon is a life saver!! Especially the first couple of weeks after baby gets here 😊. You guys will do great 💕
Thank you! Yes prime is my fave!!
MissLizHeart I already saved ur video to my favorites. Super helpful 😘😘
Aww Misslizheart!!u too are my favorite you tubers! LOVE U BOTH! Ur gonna do great🙆 God bless u both and ur growing families😙❤❤❤
I am so excited for this! Please don't stop vlogging the updates lol we're not tired of them, TRUST ME! Lol
Ok that’s good to know, thank you!
Omg, you did amazing! lol you packed everything you'll need :)
Even 5 mins, to let us know you are on the way. Since we are family....Love you and pray you have a safe birth...
RIGHT. I keep checking like is she in labor yet?!
I would toss the leggings out🙈 and stick to loose fitting clothes.
Not even pregnant but you better believe whenever I am I’ll be coming back to this (and all of your others)!! Love you so much & CANT WAIT FOR THE BABY!! I’ve been checking your stories (and having my boyfriend do the same) 24/7!!
Aw thank you!
Bring slippers maybe? I would also recommend bringing a much warmer robe with you. Hospitals tend to be very cold places with only a few thin blankets on the bed lol.
Thanks! After you give birth, can you post an update of what you were glad you packed, what you didn’t use and what you wish you had?
Yes of course!
Good idea!!! 💡
Alexandrea Garza Yes that’ll be awesome! Planing to have a baby and would love to hear what you’ve got.
Yesssss please great idea!!
i loveee this idea!
I love your actual hospital bag! so cute!!
Kristy Bognacki yes! I was thinking the same thing. Need to make sure you don’t bring any tight bottoms for precaution
Can't wait! Xo
Now that you’ve had the baby, I would love to see a video on what all you actually used/what you wish you would have had/essentials!!
Try to shower before you leave the house. I know it sounds crazy but I went into labor all 3 times in the middle of the night. Plus if you get the epidural it’s going to be hours and hours before you can shower. Praying for you! Xoxo
I died laughing so hard when you messed up for the first time. It was so funny but I understand it was probably really annoying to mess up haha!😂
😂😂 ah it happens way more than you would probably think!!
I would recommend medela gel pads!! They were a lifesaver for me! They are cooling so they help a ton with breastfeeding
You guys should have Michael do his own hospital bag video! I never really see dads doing their own hospital bag vids!
BRING A SLEEPING MASK! you won't regret it! It's super hard to sleep with nurses coming in every 2 hours
So exciting! I wanna add something to your bag...lol
Bring a loose maxi dress just in case cause you might not want anything snug on especially in case a c-section ends up coming into play. (You never know) Also...if you do plan to leave your bags in the car during the beginning stages of labor be careful cause that Louie bag might entice a thief to break in to your car. You can never be too safe and car thefts are a thing no matter where you live. Ok that’s it. 🙂
Three Of Hearts that’s what I wore home and it was great to be comfy and also feel somewhat pretty!
While I gave birth to our first son, our vehicle got broken into & they stole all the baby stuff. Including his car seat! The hospital didn’t help us & didn’t even have surveillance in that parking lot. People are jerks!
Wow, that's terrible!
Dresses are the best! But it might be too cold for where she lives.
You look like a Goddess! Props to Mike for being such a supportive husband throughout all these months. You’re days away from meeting your little baby boy. I cannot wait for the name reveal 😁😁
Thanks so much!
I feel the name is Michael, named after his incredible Father. I can't get it out of my head, and it is the name of an Angel, and I believe he will be.
Bring your own pillow. Feels comforting to have something from home.
B. Walker hahha true!! the cravings will be gone
no but you never know how long your in labour for so earplugs can be good for before you start pushing if you try and get some rest
Great ideas, thank you!
Dermaplast?
The hospital i had my son at had witch hazel pads and a squirt bottle which was a godsend hahahaha. Or my friend made her own witch hazel pads from Pinterest and stuck them right in her freezer!
But the hospital charges you for anything you ask for?? So if you bring from home as much as you can you’ll save money?
Itemized bills show all the charges.. we had an $8 charge for a tylonel or something like that.. like every little thing gets billed so I used as little as possible with my second baby and packed from home
Hi Alex! Im a student nurse and many families bring an extra baby blanket that you can send home with Michael or whomever to introduce to Colbie! The smell of the baby introduces Colbie to what is to be coming home with you guys and provides a little mini introduction for the future besties!! I've had many families do this and they say they love it as their pet get's a little something special as well :) best of luck, can't wait for the new arrival !
Those pajamas looked wonderful - great idea to have the button-up tops and gowns!
Congrats!
Oops just saw the snacks! yay!
Yes, slippers!
Raquel Muniz So glad my hospital lets you eat during labor! It’s getting more common to let women eat since it fuels our bodies for labor
And Colbie of course 💛
I enjoy your videos so much, it almost seems like you’re a big sister/mom to all of us!
Love the darker hair!
Trust me, put some of the pads in the freezer! When you get home it will feel amazing to have a cool pad on your tender parts.
Tigereve my sister froze some with witch hazel on them and she loved them!
Nancy Marie which hospital? I'm having my baby in 2 weeks in longisland def taking this advice
Nancy Marie thank you!! I’m having her at NYU Winthrop but I will pack wipes just in case lol
Does anyone know about Huntington Hospital?
Remember back pain can be labor pain - my second child I had only back pain, thinking it was just from over doing things. My sister-in-law told me to sit down and time my back pain - sure enough - I was in labor! Good luck Alex - hope baby comes soon - so anxious to see his beautiful face!
So excited to find out the baby's name!!!
This hair color looks great on you and your skin tone!
I would make sure to take your own pillow. And the Lansinoh soothies gel pads were a lifesaver for me!
It has been so fun following along this journey with you! Thanks for sharing! 💗
I am not pregnant nor am I a mother. However, I do know this, I will ALWAYS prefer over packing rather than not packing enough. But, just from watching your video, I do not think that you over packed. Hope you have a great and safe labor! Can't wait to see him! xo
You are glowing so much! Can't wait to see the lil guy 💘😍😍😊😊
Thank you!
The hospital will give you a peri bottle, but the mom washer is AMAZING!!
You did awesome with the packing! I’ve had two babies in the hospital😊 love the idea of bringing your own towel!
Your going to do great! Just a word of advice, hospital parking lots are often a place of theft. I suggest you bring everything into the hospital right when you get there. Can’t wait to see your little guy!
I would pack some eye drops, contact lens solution, and glasses to be on the safe side as well! 😊 so excited!!!!
Lol good tips, I'm an easy non high maintenance woman. I place my things and baby stuff in one bag cause I'm sure from experience three days is the max I'll be there.
Can’t wait for the baby and I love your channel
And a nice warm blanket from home💙
You’re so ready... one suggestion... COLGATE WISPS! Get in the car and have Michael drive you to target and pick some of those up! I found them great to have on my bedside table just to freshen up your mouth between naps and visitors 💗 good luck doll you guys are gonna do great !!!!
You guys havent posted so you must of had your baby !! I cant wait to see him . I know he is as handsome as ever !!
So excited for baby.. can’t wait to know his name! Good luck! ❤️ #vlogfam
Love a Main channel and a vlog!!!!
Thank you!
Amanda Howson I don’t remember having to wear a diaper lol , yes it was a long pad, but I came home with leggings and T-shirt and was just fine.
Maggie Benav same! lol I went home wearing a pad and the tightest yoga pants to suck everything in 😂 I hated feeling all jiggly on my belly so the yoga pants were lifesavers!
I AM SO EXCITEDDDD
Loved this! Good job on packing your own pads because hospital pads are horrible ❤️ A notebook and pen is nice to have to write down any tips the nurses give you on breastfeeding and your postpartum recovery. Looking forward to your birth vlog and finding out the name ❤️
can't wait for the baby to get here!!
You’re not going to use half of those things after giving birth. You’re going to be exhausted. Looking good will be the last thing on your mind. Giving birth isn’t glamorous at all!
What part was glamorous haha? Pajamas, face wipes and socks? I feel like that’s just normal things def not anything crazy.
I was just saying in general giving birth isn’t glamorous. What you’re taking is perfect to be comfy while you’re at the hospital. Best of luck!
I think everyone is different though too. I put on makeup after I showered because it was nice to feel “normal”. I think your bag sounds perfect!
Sheesh you’re pretty!!! I’m 28 weeks pregnant and starting to get my list ready
Just finished watching the vlog! And now onto this!
Yay!
I think you packed really well! I’ve had two babies, and my third is due in July.
It’s so exciting 💕🍼💕
A bag of lemons for your water hahaahah
Everyone is always pushing to breast feed, and that's fine if it's what you want to do, but if for some reason you can't, it's fine too...I never wanted to breast feed, and I didn't, and I have two of the healthiest kids ever. They grew up on Enfamil formula. No issues what so ever. They are 18 and 24 now. So, there's that. Breast feeding isn't the end all be all.
Oh my sooo exciting ❤️
I am 19 and not a mom but I still watch to support you!! So excited for you and it's so amazing to see how excited you are to have your boy!! Really love watching these since my dads never really been a great one and its nice to see parents excited to start a family!
I think you are well prepared. I don't think you forgot anything. I totally forgot to bring pads. You definitely needs those right after giving birth. I had my son towards the end of fall, so it was starting to get chilly. Fuzzy socks and a robe were the most important items I packed in my bag. Also, something comfy and loose to wear when I left the hospital.
How exciting! Ugh seems like yesterday I had my baby boy . He’s a year now and they grow so fast . 😭
Meijer has a pair with short and a short sleeve top exactly like that only cost $16 and they are my fave!
So excited for you guys! I was just wondering what wallet your Louis Vuitton is? I love that it’s small and compact!
Yes we got that all set just Incase, thank you!
Mel & I totally agree! I took some just incase i wasnt able to breastfeed
Such a good idea!
Can you let us know what formulas you are looking at and what you decide to use as a back up to breastfeeding? Thanks!
Congrats!!!
Love you and congratulations!!!!!
You packed perfectly!!! I can’t wait to see him & hear his name! I heard the cutest baby boy name today- Huxon (Hux) anyways so excited for you!!🦋
Yay!!! So excited for you😍 I'm curently 31 weeks with my 4th! (A boy 💙) I just followed you on IG today loving the insta stories🤗
The hospital pads are literally like diapers! Hahah so happy for you guys!
You are the cutest Prego mama!🤗
Did you do the nursery tour yet? Did I miss it?! Good luck!!! You'll do great!!
FYI:make sure before you leave hospital, have a nurse show you how to bathe the baby. Helped me a lot! Best wishes!
I’m so excited for you 😘 Today is my due date💕 though there is no sign that baby is coming anytime soon lol
