The Rails of FRV are now proud owners of not one but two of Lionel’s Postwar 2321’s like they’re Factory Fresh!
Today we’ll take y’all through the entire breakdown & rebuild process of each these FM’s.
I didn’t show absolutely everything of both engines, but what I did share should be more than enough to walk any of you through the strip down & rebuilding process.
If anyone ever has any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out & ask. I’m always glad to be of assistance, however I’m able to be.
Hope ALL Y’all Fine Train Folk enjoy the clip…
    Thanks so much for Watching!
And Happy Railroading to You n’ Yours!!!
    ~Eli

Nice job Eli, I hope some day you could make another video specifically for disassembling and assembling back the armature of this particular kind that features roller bearings.

      Thanks Juan!
Everything you’re asking about is in this clip. Just pause it & slowly scroll through to see the removal & replacement of the bearings on the armature shaft.

Country Bunker did the same type cleaning on an F3 #2354. They are exactly same differing only in the actual truck with F3 only 2 axles per truck. I understand the 6 wheel truck spacing is shorter and one axle is dummy on train master. The main drives difference is the F3 has two brass idler gears the T/M does not require otherwise gear drive design wise the two are the same. Motor, gear ratio, wheels, magna traction all same. The only diesel is F3 w/growler horizontal motors having a stronger gearing design (better worm/gear thrust load control in second stage of greater double reduction) has the potential to exceed in performance.

I'd like to swap out my postwar conventional classic reverse unit to the original e unit style... or just need to break down and buy a actual postwar one

    great info.
I have a 2338 i cannot get the battery bracket insulated from the frame. it uses 2 insulated hollow rivets. no luck with them.
can you use the horn bracket setup (insulated washers and screws) you have here to fix mine?? i'm wondering what you used? any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Lakeside57… Thanks!
Are you inserting the battery & cover properly? The battery & cover must be installed together, then the battery & cover snap in place at the same time.
Dunno how much help that’ll be, but wish you luck Sir. If you still have issues, let me know & I’ll be glad to be of assistance.
